Chapter 86: Chapter 86; I will kill her
Lucian’s POV
I jolted awake, a frantic scream tearing from my throat. "Alina!"
"Relax, Lucian," Ilya said, her hands reaching out to calm me down.
I whipped my head around, my chest heaving. "How did I get here?"
"I brought you here," she replied, a bright, chilling smile spreading across her face. "This will be our bedroom from now on."
I gritted my teeth and tried to force myself out of the bed, but my muscles completely failed me. A crushing weakness flooded my limbs, and I collapsed heavily back onto the mattress. "Where is Alina? I want to see her." freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Ilya let out a jagged, mocking laugh. "Seriously, Lucian? You can’t even pretend for too long, can you? We just got back here and you’re already showing me how much you don’t like me."
"I don’t have time for this," I snarled, fighting through the exhaustion. "Where is Alina?"
"She’s dead," Ilya said, her expression instantly turning deadpan and straight-faced.
My eyes widened in absolute shock, my heart stopping in my chest. "What? No... you couldn’t do that."
Ilya smiled again, entirely unfazed. "Relax, I did nothing to her. She means absolutely nothing to me, so why would I waste my time killing her? But... I just might if you don’t start acting accordingly." She leaned in closer, her voice dropping. "We are getting married much sooner than you think, and you will accept it. As for Alina, she is a nobody. She will always be a nobody."
"Alina is everything to me," I growled, the raw fury overriding my physical weakness. "I will fucking kill you if you ever try to hurt her."
The smile instantly evaporated from Ilya’s face. "So devoted," she whispered bitterly. "I never knew you could be like this toward any woman. What the hell does Alina have that I don’t? I did everything for you! I made you stronger. I made you who you are today! And now all you can think about is that frail woman?"
"There is no one else for me. Only Alina," I spat. "Don’t even think about wasting your time on me."
"Then why don’t I just kill you and end this right now?" she threatened, her eyes flashing dangerously.
I forced my lips into a cold smirk. "Because I know you can never bring yourself to do that."
Ilya let out a frustrated, enraged scream. She stomped her foot, her composure completely cracking. "Fine! If I can’t kill you, I can easily kill Alina, or any other woman who dares to come close to you! Consider that a threat."
With that, she turned on her heel and slammed the door shut, leaving me alone.
Breathing heavily, I forced myself toward the edge of the bed. I tried to stand, but my legs gave out and I fell back. I tried again, dragging my heavy body upward until, finally, I managed to stay upright.
Suddenly, the door clicked and swung open.
Ragnar stepped inside, his face pale with pure fear. The moment he saw me struggling, he rushed forward and caught my arm, letting me lean heavily against him.
"Who the hell is that crazy woman?" Ragnar whispered frantically.
"I’ll explain later," I panted, gripping his shoulder. "Take me to Alina. Right now."
Ragnar’s expression shifted into deep uneore. "I can’t, Lucian. Boca is with her. He’s completely blocked off the room and won’t let anyone step foot inside."
"Why?" I demanded, a massive wave of fear and panic instantly suffocating me. "Why won’t he let anyone in?"
"She’s unconscious."
The words hit me like a physical blow. A dark, murderous rage exploded in my chest, completely burning away the last of my weakness. "I will kill her," I vowed, my voice vibrating with terrifying certainty. "No matter what it takes, I am going to kill Ilya."
"Please, Ragnar," I begged, my fingers digging into his shoulder. "Take me to Alina. I’ll explain everything to Boca. He’ll let me in."
Ragnar hesitated, looking torn, but finally gave a reluctant nod. He supported my weight as we walked straight down the corridor to her room. Just as he had said, a guard was stationed right outside the door.
"Step aside. Let me in," I commanded, forcing authority into my weak voice.
The guard shook his head, his face pale. "I can’t, Alpha. Boca will kill me if I let anyone past this door."
An intense spike of annoyance flared through me. "Alina is in there! I need to see her."
Before the guard could reply, the door swung open and Boca stepped out. His eyes burned with pure fury the moment they landed on me. "You are not seeing my sister," he spat, blocking the entrance completely.
"Boca, let me through," I urged, taking a step forward.
"No! What the hell is wrong with you?" Boca snarled, shoving a hand against my chest. "My sister is lying in that bed unconscious because of you! How dare you bring another woman into this house? I will personally break you if you come anywhere near her again."
"Listen to me, I can explain—"
"Lucian?"
A soft, raspy voice cut through the tension from inside the room. My heart stopped.
"Boca," Alina called out weakly from behind him. "Let him in."
Boca glared at me for one last, tense second before finally stepping aside. I didn’t waste a moment. I rushed into the room and sat right on the edge of her mattress.
A frail, exhausted smile met me. Despite the faint bruising on her skin, her first instinct was to look me over. "Are you okay?" she whispered.
My chest ached with affection. I immediately reached out and took her hand, squeezing her fingers gently. "I’m fine. I’m perfectly fine, Alina. Please don’t worry about me." freeweɓnøvel.com
Tears welled in her eyes, her voice turning thick and teary. "How... how did she do that to you?"
I let out a heavy breath, knowing it was time to tell her the truth. I leaned in closer, keeping my voice low. "Ilya and her family... they’re different, Alina. They possess an ancient, forbidden power. It’s entirely illegal, banned across the territories because it’s too dangerous to exist. If that power falls into the wrong hands, it is strong enough to destroy an entire country."
Alina’s eyes widened slightly as she listened.
"But I know how to stop her," I continued, holding her gaze with absolute certainty. "It won’t be easy. It’s going to be dangerous. Alina, please... you have to bear with me right now, okay? Just listen to what I have to say."
Slowly, she nodded, trusting me completely.
