Chapter 525: Chapter 525: Mika Summers VS Tristan Grayson (25)
Clearly, neither Tristan Grayson nor Mika Summers had expected to run into Aria Joyce again when they got home.
The moment they saw Aria Joyce, everyone in the room—except for Caleb Grayson and the two children—looked displeased.
This was especially true for Mae Lynch. But considering Aria was a young lady from the Joyce family who had come to their home with Tiana, she couldn’t very well just kick her out.
So, her expression was grim for only about a minute before she composed herself. "Tiana, why did you come back with Miss Joyce?"
"Oh, Leo was busy, so I had to ask Aria to bring me home." Tiana clearly hadn’t realized her mother would be displeased to see Aria Joyce, so her tone was quite friendly.
Hearing this, Mae Lynch stood up and said with a smile, "Aria, you haven’t eaten yet, have you? We’re about to have dinner, so why don’t you stay and eat with us?"
Aria Joyce had no intention of leaving, so when Mae Lynch made the casual offer, she readily accepted. "Wonderful! In that case, thank you so much, Ma’am."
"Not at all. Aria, please, have a seat. I’m going to go check if dinner is ready."
Aria Joyce smiled sweetly and said, "Mm, would you like me to help?"
"No, no. You’re our guest; we couldn’t possibly let you help. Please, just sit down."
"Alright..." Her expression was tinged with disappointment. Hugging the wine jug in her hands, she walked over to Caleb Grayson and said softly, "Mr. Grayson, this is a fine wine my father has treasured for over a decade. I brought a jar for you."Or...
"This is too precious, I couldn’t possibly..." Although he said that, the moment Caleb Grayson heard it was a fine wine aged for over a decade, he had already put down his newspaper and was picking up the jug to examine it.
"Mr. Grayson, saying that makes it sound like we’re strangers. Tiana and Leo are dating, and our families will be one in the future. Besides, Tristan saved my life. No matter what, I felt I had to pay you and Mrs. Lynch a personal visit."
"Hahaha, Miss Joyce, you certainly have a way with words. As for that rascal Tristan saving you, that was only what he should have done. You don’t need to take it to heart."
Aria Joyce’s voice grew weak, and she said with a choke, "Tristan saved me. I’ll remember it for the rest of my life..." As she spoke, her gaze landed on Tristan Grayson at the side.
"COUGH, COUGH, COUGH..." Tristan Grayson, who had been pretending to calmly sip his tea, was so startled by Aria Joyce’s words that a cold shiver ran down his spine, and he abruptly started coughing.
’This Aria Joyce is getting more and more outrageous. To say something like that right in front of my wife... I’m so dead later...’
’I must have been out of my mind to get involved with Aria Joyce’s problems. With the Joyce family’s power, there’s no way they couldn’t have rescued her themselves after learning she’d been kidnapped by Gia Miller.’
Seeing Tristan Grayson’s guilty coughing, Mika Summers reached out to pat his back. Her face was cold as she opened her mouth to speak, but Aria Joyce beat her to it. "Tristan, what’s wrong? Why did you suddenly start coughing?" The expression on Aria’s face was one of pure concern.
At this, the pats Mika Summers was giving Tristan Grayson’s back grew harder. "Tristan, Miss Joyce is asking you a question."
"I’m fine, darling," Tristan Grayson said with a forced, apologetic smile. "It’s getting late. Why don’t we head home now?"
