Chapter 516: Chapter 516: Mika Summers VS Tristan Grayson (16)

It wasn’t until Mika Summers was holding the little red marriage certificate in her hand that it finally dawned on her. She and Tristan Grayson were really married???

And it was that simple?

Even simpler than when the two of them first got their license years ago?

She remembered the first time they got their license. Tristan Grayson had simply given her a call, they arranged to meet at the registrar’s office, and they got it done just like that.

But now, getting remarried, they had actually done it right in her hospital room?

After Tristan Grayson sent Ian Shaw and the others away, he wrapped his arms tightly around Mika Summers and rested his head on her shoulder. With an emotional smile, he said, "This is perfect, Mika. Now, you’re mine. You’re mine for life."

"Tristan..." Mika turned to face him, looking up as she choked out his name.

"Hm? What’s wrong?" A pang of pain shot through Tristan’s heart as he saw her red-rimmed eyes.

"We’re going to be happy, right, Tristan?" Although she knew those terrible things were in the past, she was still afraid... afraid that it would all happen again.

"Yes, we will. We’ll be happy."

"Tristan, I trust you. Because I love you, I trust you unconditionally."

"Silly girl..." Tristan gave a fond smile, though his voice was a bit hoarse.

’He knew what Mika was afraid of. So, every day from now on, he would love her more and spoil her more than the day before...’

’Only then could he feel even a sliver of balance in his heart.’

The next time Aria Joyce woke up, it was the afternoon two days later. Tristan Grayson and his group had already been discharged that morning.

Seeing the empty hospital room, Aria Joyce angrily kicked the door several times.

Luna Lynch walked over, clutching her purse. Seeing her daughter in such a state, she said with a catch in her voice, "Aria, please don’t be angry. If you work yourself up and get sick again, what am I supposed to do?"

"Mom, how could I have slept for so long?" She had always been in good health, certainly not weak enough to fall into such a deep sleep.

"I don’t know either, but Dr. Avery said it was because you were in the water for too long, so..."

Aria Joyce coldly cut her mother off. "Dr. Avery? Which Dr. Avery? Was it Aiden Avery?"

"I’m not sure. I suppose so."

"..." Aria’s expression darkened, and she fell silent.

’How could I not have thought of this? This is Anhurst Hospital, the Avery family’s business, and Aiden Avery and Tristan Grayson have been best friends for years.’

’So, the reason I slept for so long... it was probably all thanks to Tristan Grayson, wasn’t it?’

’Did Tristan make me sleep for so long just because he didn’t want to see me?’

At this thought, Aria Joyce’s expression turned ghastly. ’No, that can’t be it. Tristan would never want to avoid seeing me.’

’It must be because of that woman! It has to be because of Mika Summers that Tristan is treating me like this...’

"Aria, what’s wrong? Why do you look so pale? You’re scaring me!" Seeing Aria’s ghastly expression and her trembling body, Luna Lynch was terrified and asked in a panic.

Aria composed herself, her usual cold demeanor returning as she said sharply, "I’m fine, Mom. Let’s leave the hospital."

"Leo said he’s coming to pick us up. Let’s wait for him to get here before we leave."

"Fine." Aria replied coldly and strode back toward her room.
