Chapter 510: Chapter 510: Mika Summers VS Tristan Grayson (10)
Mika Summers was the first to spot Aria Joyce. The moment she saw her, she leaned in close to Tristan Grayson’s ear and gave him a sharp warning.
As a result, Tristan Grayson, who had been talking to Kiki, now didn’t even dare to lift his head, afraid his wife would find something to hold against him.
Aria Joyce saw that no one in the room had noticed her enter; they were all still chatting as before.
Her expression soured considerably, but she still put on a demure act as she walked in and called out, "Grayson."
Mae Lynch was speaking with Una Sullivan. Hearing someone call her, she turned and saw Aria Joyce. The smile on her face froze. "Miss Joyce."
"Grayson, please, just call me Aria. ’Miss Joyce’ sounds so formal," Aria Joyce said softly, a gentle smile on her face.
Mae Lynch’s brows furrowed. She asked in confusion, "Alright, Aria. Is there something you need?"
"Grayson, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault Tristan is in the hospital. I’m truly so sorry..." As she spoke, Aria Joyce started to cry.
Mae Lynch was taken aback, but she couldn’t just watch Aria Joyce cry in front of her. So, she comforted her softly, "Aria, please don’t cry. Tristan is fine, see?"
"Yes, thank goodness Tristan is alright..."
"Mrs. Grayson, our family is so indebted to Tristan for his help. If it weren’t for him, our Aria wouldn’t be standing here today," Luna Lynch said to Mae Lynch with a smile, holding onto Aria Joyce. "If the Grayson Family ever needs anything from the Joyce Family in the future, please don’t hesitate to ask."
"You’re too kind, Mrs. Joyce."
...Listening to their exchange, Mika Summers sat down on the hospital bed, annoyed.
Tristan Grayson immediately sensed Mika Summers’s mood. He pulled her into his arms and whispered in her ear, "If you’re unhappy, I’ll make them leave right now."
"Hmph." Mika Summers snorted coldly and ignored Tristan Grayson.
Tristan Grayson gave a helpless smile, the corners of his lips twitching. In a cool voice, he said, "Mom, if you all want to talk, please do it outside. I’m tired and want to rest."
Mae Lynch, of course, understood her son’s meaning. She could only turn apologetically to Mrs. Joyce. "Mrs. Joyce, Aria doesn’t look too well either. You should hurry and take her home to rest."
Luna Lynch didn’t immediately catch the hint in Mae Lynch’s words. She simply nodded. "Aria, Grayson is right. You do look terribly pale. I’ll help you home."
Aria Joyce suppressed her anger, nodded, and exchanged a few pleasantries with Mae Lynch before finally agreeing to leave.
Watching the mother and daughter leave, Mae Lynch turned to Tristan Grayson. Her face was stern as she said in a cold, displeased voice, "Tristan, your attempt to chase them away was far too obvious."
"Mom, didn’t you think they were being loud?" Tristan Grayson said dismissively, hugging Mika Summers tighter.
"They *were* very loud. But Tristan, I’m not trying to pick on you, but why did you have to go play the hero? Why save anyone? Just look at the state you’ve gotten yourself into!" Only now was Mae Lynch truly processing that her son had almost died the previous night, and it was all because of Aria Joyce.
"COUGH, COUGH." Tristan Grayson clearly hadn’t expected his mother to suddenly turn on him like that. He looked embarrassed. ’First my wife scolds me, and now my mom is starting in on me...’
Seeing that her mother-in-law was on her side, Mika Summers fanned the flames. "Mom, you’re right. Tristan obviously doesn’t care about any of us. He was willing to throw his life away for a complete stranger."
