Chapter 485: Chapter 485: Saying I Love You From This Moment On (85)
"So you don’t need my help? Mika, I’m your man. If you don’t rely on me, who are you going to rely on? Silas Kent?"
Mika’s eyes reddened with anger as she roared, "Tristan Grayson, you are being completely unreasonable!"
Furious, Tristan Grayson slammed his fist on the car. "That’s right! I’m being unreasonable! I can’t even protect the woman I love, and I have to stand by and watch another man protect her instead. Of course I’m being unreasonable!"
"Tristan Grayson, you’re impossible!" Seeing how furious Tristan Grayson was—furious enough to hit his car—Mika was on the verge of tears. After shouting at him, she spun around and started walking toward the main road.
’All he did was help me out of a jam. Is that really a reason to be this angry with me?’
Seeing her about to leave, Tristan Grayson spun around in a panic, grabbed her tightly, and blurted out, "Where are you going?"
Mika yelled angrily at Tristan Grayson, "You don’t trust me at all! If that’s the case, I don’t think there’s any reason for us to be together anymore." As she spoke, tears of grievance she could no longer hold back began to fall.
Hearing her words and seeing her tears, Tristan Grayson’s heart felt like it was being ripped apart. He was terrified. He yanked her into his arms, holding her tight. His voice trembled with anxiety as he said, "No! You’re my woman! You can’t go anywhere! You can only be with me!"
"Tristan Grayson, you bastard! You don’t trust me, do you?" Mika raised a hand and started hitting his back, her words punctuated by sobs.
"It’s not that I don’t trust you. I’m just angry. Mika, I’m your man. If you’re in danger, I should be the one to save you."
"But you can’t be there for me every single second! Tristan Grayson, if you were so worried about me, why did you agree to let me work here in the first place? I told you from the beginning that if I worked here, I’d be seeing Silas Kent day in and day out. Situations like today could happen at any time."
Mika’s words silenced Tristan Grayson. He held her tightly, a flicker of unease in his eyes.
’Mika was right. He trusted Mika, but he didn’t trust himself. And he especially didn’t trust that bastard Silas Kent. The man was obviously after Mika. How could he possibly relax if this continued...?’
After a long moment of thought, Tristan Grayson frowned and asked in a low voice, "Mika, for my sake, will you quit your job?" Even if it tarnished his image in her eyes, he couldn’t allow what happened today to ever happen again!
Mika was both furious and exasperated. She couldn’t stop herself from hitting Tristan Grayson’s back again. "Tristan Grayson, you bastard! You say you trust me, but you don’t trust me at all." ’This bastard... he says he trusts me? This isn’t trust!’
"Then just think of me as a bastard. I don’t care. I just won’t let you work by Silas Kent’s side. You’re my woman. You can only stay by my side, not anyone else’s." As he spoke, Tristan Grayson held her even tighter.
Mika was being held so tightly she could barely breathe. She began to struggle with all her might. "Tristan Grayson, you—let me go!"
"I won’t! I won’t! I’ll never let you go in this lifetime, not even in death!" Tristan Grayson clearly didn’t realize he was using too much force, his tone remaining cold and domineering.
"Tristan Grayson, you bastard! You’re holding me so tight I can’t breathe! Let me go, now!"
