Chapter 484: Chapter 484: Saying I Love You From This Moment On
Silas Kent’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile. "You’re right. And that’s why no woman has ever been reckless enough to come stir up trouble on my, Silas Kent’s, turf!"
Hearing this, Rowan Ross’s expression soured. She said uneasily, "Mr. Kent, I’m only doing this for your own good."
"Heh. I think there’s something you all need to know." Silas Kent chuckled coldly as he walked to Mika Summers’s side. He wrapped an arm around her waist and looked at everyone present. "Mika Summers is the woman I, Silas Kent, have set my sights on. It doesn’t matter if she’s divorced or has had a child. That will never change."
As she listened to Silas Kent’s words, Rowan Ross’s expression turned utterly foul, and she clenched her hands into tight fists.
Everyone else present was completely stunned...
Silas Kent completely ignored their reactions and spoke again, his voice chilling. "If there’s nothing else, then get back to work."
"Yes."
As the employees dispersed, Silas Kent motioned with his eyes for the bodyguards to throw the madwoman out.
Just then, Mika Summers pushed Silas Kent away. With a tone of exasperated amusement, she said with a smile, "Mr. Kent, I think you should probably keep your distance from a divorced woman with a child like me from now on."
"I couldn’t care less." Silas Kent shook his head with a light chuckle.
’He wished for nothing more than for this divorced mother to be stuck to his side every single day.’
"Ahem..." Mika Summers, realizing her tone had been a bit too casual, cleared her throat. "Still," she said coolly, "thank you."
"Talking to me like that... it feels so formal." Silas Kent raised his hand, wanting to stroke her hair, but then he suddenly realized she no longer belonged to him. A suffocating weight instantly settled in his chest, making it hard to breathe.
Mika Summers looked a bit awkward. She turned, about to speak, when she caught sight of Tristan Grayson out of the corner of her eye. When he saw her, his face turned cold and grim before he spun around and walked out the main doors.
Her brow furrowed. She quickly said goodbye to Silas Kent and ran toward the main entrance.
By the time she caught up to Tristan Grayson outside, they were already beside his car. Panting, she demanded resentfully, "Tristan Grayson, what was that all about?"
Tristan Grayson pulled the suit jacket from her shoulders, threw it on the ground, then took off his own jacket and draped it over Mika. "It’s nothing," he replied coldly. "Get in the car. We’re going home!" As he spoke, he opened the rear passenger door.
"—" Mika Summers stood her ground, glaring at Tristan Grayson. ’With that look on his face, how could it be "nothing"?’
Suppressing her anger, she asked softly, "Tristan Grayson, are you misunderstanding something?"
"I saw him with his arm around you!" Tristan Grayson didn’t bother to hide his fury, his voice cold.
"So?"
"So, why didn’t you push him away? Mika, when you run into trouble, why don’t you call me? I was waiting right outside for you." God only knew how badly he’d wanted to rush in and kill Silas Kent after hearing his declaration.
’What was that about "the woman I’ve set my sights on"?! He had been waiting for Mika to push Silas away, but after what felt like an eternity, she still hadn’t.’
"Tristan Grayson, this is about you not trusting me! Silas was just helping me out of a bind. And it’s not that I didn’t want to call you, I just didn’t have a chance! Besides, I can deal with someone like Rowan Ross on my own. I don’t need to trouble you guys."
