Chapter 434: Lord Head Elders Return

Nearly a month passed along with ease. Outside of the Heartstone room, Melles was replaced with Astra Singleborn.

Gritting his teeth, he stood outside of the Heartstone room patiently waiting for Lyria Theageld to come out.

"I’ll make that little demon face hell for this. How dare he enter the same room as his greatness!" Astra couldn’t help but raise his voice in anger.

He had given Lyrian the nickname; ’Little Demon’ ever since the first day he was stationed as a guard a month ago.

Back in the Servant Sect, Red Petal Sect, and the main Black Petal Sect, a celebration seemed to be booming.

The streets were filled with colorful decor. Balloons, pinatas, and other colorful ornaments.

Lines of colorful cloth flew across the roof, providing a happy mood.

However, no single person is at any of these places right now.

In the dark realm, even the workers there were absolved of their duties for the day.

They were to celebrate and eat as much as they liked for one day in these many years that had passed.

In the main city, where Lyrian had first arrived when he first came to the underground realm, and also the largest half of this realm, was a massive parade.

To call it a celebration would have been quite an understatement.

The streets were filled with colorful decor just like in the sects, except it was much more grandiose and colorful.

Hundreds of thousands of people were lined up along the streets, cheering loudly in celebration as colorful banners flew above them.

A long line of paraders walked the streets. Costumed dragons and other mythical beasts, along with other displays atop large carts.

Clowns doing backflips, elephants doing somersaults. Nearly anything you could imagine was here in celebration.

The entire parade street seemed to be lined up in a single place.

Going up the hill, everything led to the main building of the sect where travel affairs took place.

Through this palace, the parade line with people on the sidelines stretched into the giant coliseum that existed within it.

Even in this coliseum that could hold over 10,000 people, the seats were filled up to the brim.

On the tops, there were box stands with seats inside for certain powerful figures to sit atop.

There were five of these in total, with a couple sitting in each, except for one--the largest one in the middle.

That one was completely empty.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" A man suddenly announced, jumping down from the stands to the center of the coliseum floor.

"Welcome one and all, to the great return celebration of his greatness!" He yelled as the entire crowd erupted into a soul-rattling roar that shook the very ground.

"THE LORD HEAD ELDER!"

Unbelievably, an even louder cheer sounded now.

Just then, the cultivating Head Elder of the Black Petal Sect opened his eyes.

At the very same moment, Lyrian noticed a movement within the Heartstone room.

For a month, no movement of any presence had occurred, so even this slight twitch of the eye sent ripples through the mana in the room.

The head elder stood up and calmly hovered to the sidewalkway in the room.

He was a man in his early forties with long and thick brown hair that stretched down to the back of his neck.

His build was monstrous; one could see that from his neck which poked out of his robe.

However, he wasn’t a giant. 6’1 ft in stature, it was likely that he had an immense amount of condensed muscle.

Each one of his movements was fierce yet precise, as perfect as Sol had ever witnessed.

He was currently cultivating, but he sensed that this man might have just been one of the strongest he had ever witnessed.

The Head Elder walked to the gates of the Heartstone room before turning around once.

His face looked rough, with a chiseled jawline with a very light gray stubble lining his chin. A few scars were scattered across his face, with a large scar surrounding his eye as if it had been burned by acid.

Unlike his other eye, which was white in color, this eye was neon green and resembled a viper’s piercing gaze.

With this gaze, he glanced at Lyrian only once.

Gritting his teeth once, he turned, pushing the doors wide open.

He walked out without any delay, as the door behind him closed shut.

*One week prior*

"From our sources, the head elder of that sect should be coming out in around a week." Ounz Vonhaven exclaimed, standing over what looked to be a map displayed on a flat table.

He spoke to Ranthor, Hyren, and also Rastran, the Vice Guildmaster.

They were all inside what looked to be a giant marquee in the middle of the night, with a few torches lighting the place up.

In front of Ounz was a map of the underground realm.

It wasn’t very accurate, but from different interrogations, they had figured out a large chunk of the area.

Of course, they were still working on a way to get in. Currently, all they knew was that Lyrian had disappeared somewhere near where their camp was.

Speaking of camp, outside of this single marquee were 5 more marquees and 3 more tents.

It was a small base of operations to find that Black Petal Sect. freewebnovel.cσ๓

Ranthor turned around angrily at that moment, as Hyren quickly followed him outside.

"Hey! What’s wrong." Hyren exclaimed, grabbing the boy’s shoulder.

"What’s wrong!? Lord Lyrian had yet to return and it’s been over a month. What the hell are we doing sitting around here? Now, not only do I have to save my sister, but also Lord Lyrian..."

"Don’t speak about that traitorous bastard with me again." Hyren turned, his face filled with disdain.

"You still call him traitorous? How foolish are you, Hyren. He--" Ranthor was cut off.

"He hasn’t come back. Get that through your thick skull! It’s for a reason, damn it!" Hyren walked off.

Ranthor paused, musing to himself for a moment. He looked down, "Surely not... right?"

He thought of how he had given information about his sister to this young man whom he trusted.

"No... of course fucking not! He would never betray us."
