Chapter 424: Dark Ore’s Ultimatum

’Kyel Mangorn, a Genesis 1st Layer Ranker. He’s known as the damn sect bully!’

One of the two kids thought to themselves, almost annoyed at himself for speaking so close to Kyel’s room.

The two quickly faced down and walked away, hiding their face from the soon-to-come humiliation.

Kyel ignored them, as he had already messed with them plenty of times in the past.

"Eh..." He turned to face who they were talking about.

A smile stretched across his face. "O~hoohoo... what do we have here?" He began walking toward Lyrian.

He was 6’4 ft tall, towering over Lyrian with ease. He had a belly that slightly protruded out but it was tight and firm, encased in muscle.

His arms and feet were bulging with tightly packed, dense amounts of muscle too.

Just imagining fighting him was a pretty scary sight.

Lyrian didn’t even notice the bully approaching. He saw his room to his right and checked to see if the number was right.

’310AD... this is the one.’

He placed his hand on the doorknob and it automatically clicked open.

His silver badge lit up a slight bit as the door opened, ’Must be connected,’ he mused as he entered.

"Hey! Wait!" Kyel said with a hint of fear for some reason.

Lyrian stopped and then stepped out to look at who was calling for him.

Kyel seemed to take a breath of relief as he saw this, "You idiot, you almost left me out here all alone. There’s no way I can get into that room."

Kyel spoke with his taunting tone to anything, no matter their age or gender.

Unless of course, they were of a higher rank than him in the hierarchy.

It would usually cast fear into the person he was talking to, or get some sort of reaction out of them.

However, Lyrian defied all of those expectations when he simply said, "What do you want?" With a slightly annoyed tone.

The smirk on Kyel’s face was immediately wiped off.

"Oh... so you don’t care if we are best buddies or not? Don’t you want friends now that you are in the Servant Sect?"

It was very common to start building as many relationships as possible once you were in the Servant Sect.

This was so that even though you had a lower ranking, you had the backing of a higher ranker just in case.

"Nope. I couldn’t care less about that. Now piss off." Lyrian stated, stepping inside and shutting his door.

"I don’t have time for weirdos like him. I could spend my time beating his ass, but I can just do that at a later time when need be. For now, I’ll just see what to do next."

His room was pretty small but not half bad. There was a bed to the right, a small cooking pot to the right over a campfire, and a bench with a table in front of it.

There was also a window at the very back with sticks as a barrier.

Lyrian sat down, "So... I’ll be here for 24 months minimum before I can get to the real sect, according to what Dustfey said."

He knew that his only option to reach the higher ranks was to gain power.

Right now, he kind of stuck. Trapped in a mental obstacle. It had been a while since he truly didn’t know exactly what to do.

Power... how would he gain power?

He decided to simply cultivate for now and would decide to do the rest of the thinking later when he had more knowledge.

He activated his Daemon’s and Cerberus Cultivation Technique, as Cerberus quickly escaped from his being and traveled outwards.

He chomped down on any floating pieces of mana near him, but the mana was thinly spread out for some reason.

Lyrian could track Cerberus as he flew and jumped around, eating all forms of mana nearby.

And then, Cerberus, for some reason, headed toward an instructor that was nearby.

The instructor was in a larger room within the same courtyard, lounging around.

’Hm?’ Lyrian confusedly mused.

Cerberus kept flying toward the man, and then, Lyrian noticed that Cerberus was heading not for the man, but for something attached to the man’s waist belt.

’A Dare Ore baton... does Cerberus see it as mana? If he tries to absorb it, it might affect me, since I’m the one currently bound to Cerberus. It might sap all my mana... damn, I’ll have to retract Cerberus for now.’

Just before he could do that, however, Cerberus made contact with the Dark Ore baton.

Lyrian, with a tinge of curiosity, let this go on for a slight second.

However, he noticed that none of his mana was being sapped.

Instead, Cerberus was simply fighting the anti-magic properties of the Dark Ore. freēwebnovel.com

’Interesting...’

The instructor who was sleeping peacefully suddenly jerked awake, looking around as though he had felt something.

’Huh? What’s going on...’

He didn’t see anything, so he decided to go to sleep, lazing away at his job. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

Cerberus’ aura continued to fight with the Dark Ore.

Suddenly, the Dark Ore began to absorb Cerberus’ mana at the normal speed that it sapped mana.

Lyrian remembered that when he even made slight contact with the stuff, a good amount of mana was taken from him.

He thought mana was being leeched from him again, but noticed that he could somehow feel Cerberus’ mana being taken instead.

’Of course... it makes sense. Why would it sap my mana when it could sap Cerberus’ instead? Cerberus is also a conscious creature. But... even I don’t have the ability to even see Cerberus’ mana.’

Lyrian was beginning to get excited. He hadn’t even noticed a glimpse of the beast’s mana, but he was going to see it here.

He was a bit worried about the outcome, but Ceberus didn’t seem to be weakening whatsoever.

Instead, the Dark Ore began to glow even brighter. It turned so bright, filled with mana to the brim, that it let out a silent whistling noise.

The instructor woke up again, taking a look at his baton.

’Huh? What the hell is going on?’ He attempted to grab it, but his hand was immediately thrown off.

It didn’t look like it from the outside, but the baton was vibrating at an insane speed, enough to generate the needed heat to melt iron!

It began to turn red hot from being overfilled with Cerberus’ Demonic Mana.

’A beast from Purgatory... no, more like the beast from Puragatory. No wonder this measly baton would stand no chance...’

Lyrian thought to himself, as the instructor quickly unattached his belt out of fear and began running away from the baton.

As he did, the Dark Ore overfilled with mana and suddenly burst into a thousand pieces, sending the instructor flying into the wall with the impact force.

And then, Cerberus got what he was after the entire time. A densely packed, immense amount of mana exploded out from the Dark Ore.

A small amount of this was how much mana the piece of Dark Ore had sucked in the past, but most of it was the overwhelmingly dense amount of Cerberus’ mana.

Cerberus instantly absorbed all of this mana back, but since he was in this form--molded into Lyrian’s cultivation technique--the mana surged over toward Lyrian’s core...
