Chapter 423: Servant Sect

At that moment, Dustfey’s eyes widened. She froze as she sensed a dangerous atmosphere around her.

As if time was moving in slow motion, he saw the Flame Wheel approach at a speed far faster than she knew she could move.

It wasn’t seeming to slow down either. ’What is he intending to do? Kill me?’ She mused, taking out her Dark Ore baton and swiping it against the Flame Wheel in front of her.

At once, the spell fizzled into mere mana in the air, brushing past Dustfey in a hot gust.

She turned toward Lyrian with a stomp, "What is the meaning behind this assault!?"

Lyrian walked forward calmly, "Well firstly, I wanted you to understand what kind of ’potential’ I had since that was your desire, right?"

"Still! Do you think I would tolerate an attack that was clearly aimed to damage me?!" Dustfey’s tone was stern.

"I knew that you were competent enough to counter the attack with your baton, or else, I would have never cast that spell." Lyrian was nonchalant, but inwardly, both he and Dustfey knew the true intentions behind this threat of an attack. ’So if I were to talk back, I’d just be insulting my own competence huh? Good choice of words... brat.’ Dustfey sheathed her baton. ’He’s getting out of control. I thought Leader Jue had confirmed his loyalty, but it seems he was mistaken.’

"Fine! You pass this test." Dustfey turned at that moment, "Follow me to the Servant Sect."

Dustfey led Lyrian back up to the main enormous pavilion estate that existed on top of the hill that separated the normal land from the Dark Lands where the slaves worked.

This siheyuan-esque structure was the dwelling of the Black Petal Sect Head Master, as Lyrian quickly came to find out. He was also known as the First Head. However, from what Dustfey told him, the Head Master was currently out training in isolation.

Apart from that, it was also the dwelling of the top-potential disciples of the sect and other important figures.

Moreover, it was also the transportation terminal between the three lands of the underground realm that the Black Petal Sect resided in. Without entering this massive building, one couldn’t pass over to any other side.

Dustfey led Lyrian to the third and final part of the land. The Green Lands. As Lyrian came down from the top of the hill he saw a vast forest, birds flying around, creatures seemingly thriving everywhere you looked. And a few miles off was a mountain range, where the bulk of the sect was located.

Although ’top-potential’ students resided in the Terminal Sect (Pavilion between lands), they were only there temporarily. If they had business to tend to or other things, they would live there, but otherwise, this place in front of Lyrian would be their home.

He slowly ascended the mountainous path with Dustfey, eventually reaching the Servant Sect which was located near the base of the mountain.

A few thousand feet above the Servant Sect, on another mountain, was the Red Petal Sect. The official Black Petal Sect was founded as different pillars across the various mountain tops.

Dustfey dropped Lyrian off at a small siheyuan-esque courtyard in the Servant Sect. Unlike in the Dark Lands, this time there was actually decent structure. There were small rooms all around, and more buildings of a similar style quite close by as well.

The place was beautiful. There were rivers and forests, and these rivers fell down from the mountain to make waterfalls.

Dustfey said her final words before leaving, "Here." She chucked a small token over to him. It was a badge that he could put on his chest. A silver patch that had the words "Top Servant" inscribed on it. "It’s only a matter of time now before you become a real disciple of the sect. Just be good and do what you’re told."

Lyrian didn’t waste time saying goodbye or anything. He was in a rush at this point. "Your room is 301AD! Brat!" Dustfey yelled before jumping off the edge of the mountain and leaving. ’He’s going to have to figure everything out by himself since he skipped so many roles. But... that’s on him.’

Lyrian walked up the two steps from the courtyard to the 10-foot-long porches in front of the rooms of the courtyard. Canopy roofs above this porch stretched above it, giving it a more inside hallway type of vibe even though it was outside.

He looked around for his room, and as he did, he saw some other people nearby. Everyone in the servant sect was aged 13-18, and the two in front of Lyrian were most likely around 15 years old. freewebnøvel.coɱ

As they neared him, talking about random things that 15-year-olds talked about, they shot odd glances at him. "A new kid?" They began to whisper to each other. "Huh... We should have gotten notice that he was here."

As they approached him on the porch hall, they were about to tease him a little, as that was normal to do in the servant sect.

The whole hierarchy of the

Black Petal Sect was a giant part of life in the underground realm. For this reason, any sort of ranking that you had over another person was seen as immense.

Many people wanted to flex this ranking, as it meant the difference between life and death in this sect. So, even with the little bit of servant ranking that they thought they had over Lyrian, they wanted to showcase it.

Whether it be for their own satisfaction, or to show dominance to another, it was all the same.

Just before they spoke, however, they both glanced at his badge just in case and saw that he was a Top Servant.

Both of their faces turned a bit sour on seeing this, and they quickly straightened their pace and looked away. There was no way they were going to try and talk shit to a person who was higher ranked than them since it meant Lyrian was far stronger.

After walking far enough away to where they thought Lyrian couldn’t hear them anymore, they exclaimed in a loud tone, "What the hell!?" "How can a newbie be so high ranked?"

At that moment, one of them tapped the other on the shoulder hard, "Hey! Shush!" "Huh?" "Look..." He pointed at a room that they were just about to approach. The other guy turned pale, "Shit... we shouldn’t have said that."

At that moment, the door of the room they were looking at suddenly flew open. "Did you say... high-ranked newbie? That means he’s strong right?" A big 18-year-old young man walked out of the room, hitting his fist against his palm. "Oh shit..."
