Chapter 422: Servant Sect Test

Lady Dustfey walked closer, her hips swaying side to side.

"Lady Dustfey! Look at the state of the place! This slave needs to be killed!" The guard, seemingly unable to express the immense rage he felt.

’Finally...’ Lyrian thought to himself on seeing the woman.

"Yes, he definitely is strong," Dustfey exclaimed, looking around the battlefield with a hint of awe in her eyes.

"W-what? Strong? Well... I guess so." The guard replied under his breath, not expecting that answer.

"But that’s not the point! Look what he’s done! He needs to be punished!"

Dustfey suddenly faced the guard with a slightly confused expression, "Punished? For what? Showing that he has the ability to cultivate and grow stronger?" She said in a nonchalant tone.

"Wha-" The guard felt his voice disappearing from his throat. He was shocked, "But... the guards."

"Aw..." Dustfey exclaimed in an almost endearing tone, "Did you forget that guards are simply nothing more than past slaves who could cultivate, but not attain the first Layer of the Genesis Rank?"

Dustfey pulled her whip away from Lyrian’s hand as she got to him, placing it on her back.

The guard felt all hope slipping away from his fingertips. He couldn’t even find himself angry with Lyrian anymore, since he knew he couldn’t do anything against the boy.

This was the cold, cruel reality of the world, as the guard realized at that moment.

’The strong move on, and the weak are left behind to die hopeless deaths.’ Lyrian thought to himself, also familiarizing himself with this concept even more.

"Woman," Lyrian spoke at that moment, as Dustfey turned to face him.

"I want to join the servant sect." He said calmly.

Dustfey squinted her eyes, and after a short pause, she said, "I don’t doubt that you are above the needed threshold of cultivation, but I still must test you."

"That’s fine by me. Test me however you like..."

*Thump*

The guard, having lost too much blood in this span of time, passed out on the spot.

Both Lyrian and Dustfey ignored him, as they made some space between each other as if they were going to duel.

Fam, however, couldn’t help but walk toward the fallen guard, whose heart was still beating.

The fat young man panted in ragged breaths as he stood over the guard, ’He was a slave just like me once huh?’ He felt his heart sink into his chest. Looking at the fallen man felt like looking at his own future as if a reflection in a mirror.

"I’ll give you two tests!" Dustfey said in a lower tone from 20 feet away.

Lyrian didn’t reply.

"One to know if you have sufficient cultivation... and the other, a test for my personal curiosity. I want to know if you truly have high potential as they say."

"Why not just make both of them into the last test... I’m sure it will prove that I am both of the things you are curious to see." Lyrian wanted to speed up this process even more. Even though a few minutes wouldn’t have affected him in the grand scheme, he wanted to continuously be rushing forward. He wanted to destroy this entire place, as the sooner he could do that, the better.

"Why, you’re right. Let’s just do the second test then." Dustfey pulled her whip out again.

Her Dark Ore baton was still sheathed on her waist, but it seemed that her whip was still her main weapon.

"Defend against simply one of my magical attacks with one of your own. All you have to do is avoid all damages by counteracting instead of dodging or parrying."

She began to swing her whip around in circular motions, whipping loud cracks in the air.

"How about we make a bet in this test..." Lyrian shouted at that moment, sensing an opportunity here.

"A bet? Shoot."

"If I manage to override your magic attack, I get to jump straight from the Servant Sect to the Red Petal Sect."

From what Lyrian understood after working around for a bit earlier, the Red Petal Sect was a smaller branch of the entire Black Petal Sect. It was like the inner and outer sections within Anaviotis. The Red Petal was equivalent to the outer section, and the Black Petal was the core.

"Pfft!" Dustfey suddenly laughed at Lyrian’s proposition. After chuckling and calming down, she faced him again with a slightly puzzled look on her face, "Wait, you’re serious aren’t you..."

Lyrian’s face stayed stoic. freewēbnoveℓ.com

"Ah~ You children and your silly dreams. I’ll tell you this... I don’t have that authority to make you pass right over the Servant Sect, but I’ll allow you to be ahead of most others if you somehow manage to overpower me."

Dustfey seemed completely amused by Lyrian’s confidence.

Lyrian grinned inwardly, ’Perfect...’

Dustfey continued to swing her whip, creating an ominous atmosphere with each crack in the air.

As the tension built, Dustfey unleashed her purple magic, imbuing her whip with dark energy.

With a swift motion, she sent a crackling purple viper made of magic darting toward Lyrian.

The magical serpent hissed through the air, its movements unpredictable.

In response, Lyrian summoned the power within him and unleashed Flame Wheel. From his hand, a wheel of orange flame spun rapidly, resembling a fiery cyclone. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

The Flame Wheel surged forward, colliding with the

purple magical viper in a clash of vibrant colors.

The collision produced a dazzling display of magical energy.

The orange flames and purple magic intertwined, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.

The Flame Wheel, however, proved to be relentless, eventually overpowering the magical viper and steamrolling through it.

Dustfey, her sly grin suddenly wiped off her face, imbued her whip with purple magic once again.

This time, she unleashed a series of rapid strikes, sending forth a barrage of magical snakes toward Lyrian.

The purple serpents slithered through the air, hissing with malevolent energy.

Lyrian’s eyes glowed with determination as he prepared to counterattack. With a swift motion, he directed the Flame Wheel toward the oncoming magical assault.

The Flame Wheel collided with the magical snakes, creating bursts of fiery explosions and clashes of purple and orange hues. However, Lyrian’s Flame Wheel stood victorious even in the end, rampaging toward Dustfey with immense speed.
