The waves clashed into the bottom of the lake. Each of them sent a signal back to Evelynn, telling her the entire layout of the lake.
She saw many things. Frozen corpses lay bare on the dirt. Ships crashed with the interiors remained perfect. Unimaginable Hellbeasts swam in the cold water.
_'These ships... The Iced Lakes was once an ocean? That was the only explanation why there are ships under the water.'_
She saw many things through her power. The power of the Brine allowed her to completely sense everything in the water and scan the layout.
Then Evelynn noticed it. A temple within the lake. Inside, a certain golden tablet glowed eerily, pulsing the power of the True Dust.
_'That must be it!'_
Evelynn dove down and swam toward the temple. Her fish tail wiggles in the cold water. The orange tattoo on her chest kept her warm and prevented the cold of Death Ice from getting inside her.
When she approached the temple, the ground shook. Gigantic tentacles burst out from within the ground and slammed toward Evelynn.
The Siren squinted her eyes. A pink barrier appeared before her. It couldn't hurt her but it did bounce the pink sphere backwards, causing Evelynn to roll a few times in the water.
Evelynn's eyes shined and two Octagrams appeared. Mater used the Chaos Seal to see through her eyes.
_'A Hellbeast?'_ Mater's voice echoed in Evelynn's head. _'This thing looks like a Brine creature.'_
_'No Brine within it, Master. This is a Hellbeast for sure.'_ Evelynn answered.
Evelynn looked around. This was Mater controlling her.
_'This place... It was an ocean or a river, huh?'_
_'I thought the same thing, Master.'_
The Hellbeast revealed itself. A giant squid with long tentacles. It was as white as any normal Hellbeast with the power of Death Ice within it.
Its tentacles swirled in the air, creating vortexes of ice. These vortexes shot out countless iced projectiles.
_'I will handle from here.'_
_'Yes, Master...'_
A third eye appeared on Evelynn's forehead. This was the power of Mater.
A thick purple beam shot forward. The beam turned sharply and destroyed all of the iced projectiles. It was faster than any of them.
Then, the beam came at the giant squid and pierced through it, creating a large hole between its eyes. But the squid didn't die.
Only a white shell was left behind. It separated from its previous body and a new body was formed.
_'Failsafe ability?'_
Mater didn't stop. He continue to attack it with his Cyclops Nether Beam.
With the Cyclops, his beam was almost unbeatable at the same rank. With the squid being only a Rank-3 Hellbeast, Mater had no problem in dealing with it.
Even with the failsafe ability that saved its countless time, eventually it would run out of power. And it would die.
The squid dashed away in the water, barely able to avoid the bombardment from the Nether Beam.
"Going somewhere?"
Using Evelynn's body, Mater opened her mouth. She sang a sweet lullaby.
Mater was not a good singer. But even the worst Siren was better than the best human singer.
Her voice travelled across the water. It travelled even faster because of the water and caused came at the squid.
The eyes of the squid turned gray as it was affected by the power of the Siren Lullaby.
"Now you have nowhere to run."
A giant sphere of Nether Energy formed in front of Evelynn's head. Then, a thick purple beam shot out from it.
"Destruction Beam!" 'Evelynn' shouted.
The thick beam was almost as large as the entire head of the squid. It couldn't use its failsafe ability this time and was completely vaporized by the ruthless beam.
The Hellbeast died.
The third eye on Evelynn's forehead disappeared. The Octagrams in her eyes faded away. Mater had relinquished control on her body.
_'Carry on.'_
_'Thank you, Master!'_
As a Siren, Evelynn had a lot of controlling spells and powers, but she wasn't that good offensively. Even with Mater's pact spells. But the fat cat wasn't worried at all. After all, he could take control over her and used his spells like he just did.
Without any obstacles in front of her, Evelynn swam forward and entered the ancient temple.
At first glance, Evelynn immediately knew that this was built by the Alchemists. The reason was simple. When the Alchemists built something, they didn't actually use their hands, they could force any type of materials to transform at their desire.
Evelynn had seen Rumius the Doberman did this many times so she knew. The temple was made from stone. But there were no stone bricks.
The entire temple looked like it was carved out from a single large boulder.
But that was obviously impossible considering many aspects of the temple needed many boulders to be completed.
If human builders was to create this temple, they would need hundred of years to finish this.
When she entered the temple, the water suddenly drained away. Her fish tail disappeared and the human legs returned.
Her smooth wide legs were completely bare to the view.
She climbed on the platform and looked at the place.
At the center of the courtyard was a bronze statue. A statue of a woman covered her eyes with a blindfold. She held a scale in her hand while grabbing a sword in another.
The Lady of Knowledge and Force. The symbol that the Alchemists praised and looked after. Evelynn didn't know about her but she had heard Rumius told stories about her repeatedly in the past.
She came forward and the bronze statue came alive. The statue lowered her scale and raised her swords.
The statue aimed the sword at Evelynn.
"A siren? Here?" The statue tilted its head slightly. "No. Not exactly. You have the power of a Warlock within you. You are a servant of pure Chaos. And yet, you have the power of the tidal force and the brine. The Warlock must love you. If not, they would not give you all of that power."
"Master love all of us equally." Evelynn said.
"Is that so? Tell me, Siren. Who are you? What business do you have in the temple of knowledge?"
"I am here on my master behalf to collect the Alchemical Sigil the Alchemists had left behind."
