The Seame Mountain. The Satchas Forest. The next area inside the wasteland was the Sracha Lakes. This biome was a vast even field of many frozen lakes.
Mater went to the Iced Lakes with Selina and his servants. This place was very windy. The cold air was visibly white, drawing thin strokes in the sky.
"Woah. This place is even colder than the Pine Forest and Mountain Range." Sparrow rubbed his arms for better warmth.
"The place is empty, giving space for the cold air to spread." Aurora spread her hands, catching a white snowflake. "The Pine Forest catches the wind between the trees. And the Mountain Range separates it naturally."
They continued exploring the area. Soon, they found a spherical iced house standing in the vast white field.
A human sat beside of a carved out circular hole, fishing from a long wooden pole. He noticed the group of weird people from afar and stood up.
"You are..." The villager said.
"I am Mater. The new ruler of the Frine Village." The fat cat said.
The villager widened his eyes, looking at the fat cat. He saw many Hellbeasts. But none that could talk before.
"Are you a Hellbeast?" The villager said.
"I ain't no beast. I am Mater Evol Heracy. The Blood Warlock!"
The fat cat swirled its claw around. It didn't look menacing at all, only cute.
The villager was barely holding his laughter in.
The fat cat stared at him with great intensity.
"I was just thinking about something funny in the past." The villager glanced away. He was definitely lying.
He cleared his throat then turned back to Mater, "Why are you here, Mater?"
"We are uniting the villages in the wasteland. You are our next target." The fat cat said.
"Oh? You should know that our 'village' is not very connected. We operate independently to each other."
"I know. So what do I need to do? Enslaving each house I see in this area?"
"Haha..." The villager sweated. This fat cat looked cute but it was very bloodlust. "Actually. You should go see our Elder. His name is Bryan. If he decides to join you, all of us will join you."
"Where is he?"
"At the biggest lake in Sracha. That way!"
The villager pointed to a direction.
The group didn't waste too much time getting there. Most of them could fly and they bolted right at the biggest lake.
The other lakes were small, often within a hundred meter of diameter. But the biggest one was at least a few hundreds.
There were many houses surrounding the lake. The fishermen gathered around the shore and dropped their fishing lines down the water.
The fat cat and his people landed at the biggest house. An old man was fishing in front of the porch.
He looked over to Mater. "You must come from Borealis."
"You know us?" The fat cat said.
"Of course. The 'small' village that put Whitow in its place. My people don't care about what happen outside of our territory. But I have to, for their sake."
"Hmm. You really are a wise leader. I will be direct than. I'm here to unite all the villages. The humans in the wasteland have been divided for too long."
"Enough." The old man stood up. "We're in."
"That's it? You're not going to haggle or something?"
"Cat. I live long enough to know only a special power leader can win against Whitow. And from the look of the people around you, you ain't treating them bad. What do I need to worry about?"
"Heh. You're one sly old man."
"But. We can't just join you, cat. You need to do something for us."
"Oh? A challenge? I like it? What do you want?"
"Do you know about the Alchemical Sigil?"
"Do I know about it? I'm uniting the villages to collect those sigils."
"Good. I am one of the very last human here that still practices Alchemy. That is why we can afford to live so far from each other. I can create items that keep my people warm. Now. The legendary golden tablet was lost. And if you can get it back, we are more than happy to be your subjects."
"Reasonable. Where is it?"
The old man pointed to the ground.
"Deep within the water. We don't know exactly where it is. But it is down there. Be careful though as there is a very powerful Hellbeast beneath."
"In the water? If that's the case, one of my servant can definitely take care of this."
Mater looked over to Evelynn. The Siren pointed at herself in surprise.
As a Tidal Siren, Evelynn wasn't that affected by the cold. At least, she wasn't trembling constantly like Sparrow.
However, the cold of the frozen water might be on a different level.
"I don't know if I can do this..." Evelynn looked at the still water surface. She touched the water with her feet and her hair stood up in response. "It is too cold!"
The Orange Aurora walked out from Aurora and placed a hand on Evelynn's back.
"My Living Flame will aid you in your path. You will not be affected by the cold of the water. However, remember that you only have maximum three hours. After that, the power of Death Ice will disintegrate the Living Flame."
A temporarily tattoo appearance on Evelynn's back. It glowed bright light an orange color.
"I feel better already." Evelynn said.
"Godspeed, Siren. You better be quick." The fat cat said.
Evelynn pulled the hairpin out and let her hair fall on her chest naturally. She sat on the edge of the legs and placed her legs beneath the water. They transformed into one single glimmering fish tail.
"Wish me luck!" Evelynn slipped into the water.
"Good luck!" Selina waved goodbye and smiled.
There were many Hellbeasts insdie the water. But most were very weak. They scattered away from Evelynn when they felt her power.
"Searching for the golden tablet would take forever if I just swim..."
Evelynn put her hands together. A shock wave spread out from within her palms.
"I call upon the power of the tidal brine..."
