Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Explosive Escape
Elara’s POV
Too bad I had no clue what was coming. I was ready to leave when chaos erupted behind me!
"Watch out! A male beastman’s losing it!"
Someone screamed the warning. Thank god the Arsenal Foundry wasn’t packed—no mass hysteria. Still, the lower-level workers scattered fast.
Almost immediately, every beast in sight was running for cover...
I meant to bolt too, but before I could move, the beastman with shaky spiritual energy charged straight at me.
My eyes went cold. Shit, he’s quick.
Sharp claws sliced toward me. I arched backward smoothly, dodging the strike.
In one fluid motion, I spun and whipped my leg out, launching the beastman across the room!
I’d moved too damn fast. If I’d bothered to look properly, I would’ve seen the beastman wasn’t trying to attack me. He’d charged because I was the only female around.
Trevor stood watching from the sidelines, thinking, "I had my energy fist ready, and she didn’t even need it? No wonder Mr. Pendragon’s got it bad for her. That was one brutal kick!"
After my kick landed, I froze, puzzled. My wood power hadn’t stirred at all. This wasn’t a spiritual breakdown.
"Look out! There’s a female over there!"
"Quick! Someone grab that crazed male—I’ll help her!"
I stayed quiet. Gee, thanks for the help.
I was distracted for just a heartbeat, but that was all it took for the beastman to rush me again.
"Seriously?" I grumbled.
I really hated getting pulled into other people’s shit, especially for free. Without thinking twice, I grabbed the berserk male and locked him down, slamming him to the ground. But something felt... wrong.
I looked down and saw the beastman I’d pinned was crying.
"Help me..."
I went still. A woman?
I released my hold. But the moment I loosened up, the person under me pushed back, flipped our positions, and pinned me down instead.
Trevor jumped, startled. He froze, unsure if he should step in.
The people who’d run earlier crowded around again. Galactic police showed up with tranq guns, but they hesitated with me trapped underneath.
The beastman—actually a woman with blood-red eyes—was breathing hard. From her condition, my hunch was right. This wasn’t a spiritual meltdown.
Plus, the woman was covered in injuries!
"Help me..." A tear slid down Vivienne Wilde’s cheek. In her cat form, she begged me again.
Right then, another group arrived. Familiar faces too—because their leader was Cassian. When our eyes locked, we both froze in shock.
Cassian and I shouted at the same time, "Holy shit!"
Talk about a small world.
That’s when it hit me—the Arsenal Foundry and that cursed private room from earlier were in the same damn building...
Both sides hesitated for just a split second. I twisted free like a cat and jumped up to run. Cassian immediately threw up his hand and barked, "Grab her!"
Vivienne hadn’t even figured out what was happening before I grabbed her by the scruff, threw her over my shoulder, and bolted.
I had insane stamina. Vivienne in her current form was as big as a full-grown tiger—but I carried her like she was weightless!
Trevor reacted quick. He immediately ordered his guys to make a scene and block Cassian’ crew while he moved to cover me.
But before his men could act, I leaped off the building with Vivienne still slung over my shoulder!
I didn’t hesitate. I’d never planned to run. Those few steps were just a decoy!
The crowd stared in terror. They rushed to the edge and watched me flip off Cassian as I dropped, a grin on my face. I mouthed silently, "You’re screwed."
A massive boom thundered right after.
Kaelen’s Dragonfire Blaster exploded mid-air, filling the air with dense smoke. It blocked both Cassian’ guys and the galactic police.
Obviously, the cops tried to chase—but Trevor’s men cut them off cold!
Vivienne was terrified the whole time. She let out panicked yowls, her fur spiked up and her eyes shrunk to pinpricks.
"I should’ve just let them finish me off. If we slam into the ground from this height, I’ll be paste!" Vivienne thought.
"Ahhhhh!" Vivienne screamed again.
I used my spatial power, pulling off five mid-air jumps in a row. On the sixth jump, Vivienne shifted back to human form...
Hanging over my shoulder, Vivienne opened her mouth and puked violently, dizzy and sick.
"Don’t you dare throw up on my clothes," I warned, "or I’m dropping you."
"I’ll clean them," Vivienne choked out.
The wind was too loud. I couldn’t hear her clearly. freēwebnovel.com
Another boom—another explosion. Once the smoke lifted, we both dove into a waiting starship cabin.
"Are we safe?" Vivienne asked weakly.
"Don’t get cocky!" I snapped.
The main screen showed we were still being hunted.
I quickly switched our destination and called Finnian...
"Hello..." Finnian answered, his voice instantly brightening, clearly thrilled to hear from me.
But his happiness lasted barely a moment before my urgent voice cut through, "Can you ask Dorian something for me? If I kill someone from the royal family, can he cover for me?"
Finnian’s eyes went dark. He spoke in a low, deadly tone, "Anyone except the Queen. You don’t need to ask Dorian. I’ll handle it."
