Chapter 78: Chapter 78 Sweet Public Revenge
Elara’s POV
"Disgusting! How could you steal your own cousin’s husband!"
"Exactly! Ganging up on a defenseless woman? What kind of animals are you?"
"I’ve never witnessed such shamelessness! Forcing marriage registration because you couldn’t wait? Get out of Glimmeraven Port, you’re revolting!"
"Sovereign garbage!"
Beatrix attempted to protest. "I didn’t! We weren’t..."
"Silence!" a bystander barked. "Do you think we’re idiots?"
Another voice joined in, "Precisely! Trash woman with her trash men. You’re perfect for each other!"
Vance snapped. He lunged forward, shoving Beatrix behind him, and screamed at the mob, "What are you people saying? Beatrix is an S-class spiritual power female!"
He jabbed his finger at me, sprawled face-down on the couch, fake-sobbing. "And she’s nothing but a worthless woman with zero spiritual power! Why should we throw our lives away on her?"
My shoulders trembled harder. Thank god I was face-down, or they’d all see.
Oh hell, I can’t handle this anymore... Vance is such a moron!
I was seriously about to crack up laughing.
The crowd fell dead quiet for a moment. Then they erupted, screaming at all four of them simultaneously.
"That’s despicable!"
"Unbelievable! How dare you treat someone like garbage just because she lacks spiritual power? You think that makes her worthless as a woman?"
"Everyone, let’s destroy them!"
I was struggling not to burst into laughter. See? The public gets it. These scumbags are made for each other.
Creatures like them belonged together. If they separated, they’d just destroy someone else.
I performed a public service today.
Quentin walked back into this madness, completely bewildered. But he was a businessman with razor-sharp instincts. He glanced at me on the sofa, then at the group near the entrance.
He didn’t grasp the full situation, but clearly his valuable business partner was under attack. He couldn’t just watch! He spun around and shouted at the security screen. "Are you all just watching? Throw them out!"
"Who dares eject me?" Beatrix shrieked, breaking free from Thorne’s grip. "I’m from the Greeley family! An S-class spiritual power female of the Valerion Empire! My aunt is Ms. Helena Sterling! How dare you lay hands on me?!"
She tried standing proud, attempting to reclaim her aristocratic status, but spit covered her completely. The breeze just intensified the stench.
Quentin covered his nose, looking nauseated. He studied Beatrix for a moment, then slapped her hard across the face. "Ridiculous! Where did this crude woman come from, daring to impersonate the noble, gorgeous, and refined Ms. Greeley? Someone! Remove these space beggars immediately!"
And out they flew.
The lobby was massive, and the staff had witnessed everything. They knew I was someone important. They would’ve supported me if things escalated, but honestly, from beginning to end, only those four got hurt.
Just like me, the staff had been enjoying the entertainment.
Now that Quentin issued the command, workers drove over with forklifts and literally scooped Thorne, Beatrix, and the others up and hauled them away...
Quentin wasn’t alone. Trevor appeared too. Actually, from the moment I entered Glimmeraven Port, they’d stationed someone secretly following and protecting me.
Silas’s mate wasn’t someone random trash could harass!
So, right after Quentin ejected them, Trevor had his people rob all four completely!
The credits Vance and Jasper had scraped together for weeks vanished entirely. But that wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was getting dumped back on Waste-mire World...
I unwrapped a candy, feeling incredible. Every outing delivers fresh entertainment.
Just like before, I packed all the leftover pastries. After settling the maintenance and supply costs, I headed to the Arsenal Foundry.
I’d researched it online. The Arsenal Foundry had floors.
The Nexus Works created close-combat weapons.
The High-Gear Studio supplied military weapons, from compact pistols to heavy cannons.
The Ray Chamber offered energy weapons, like Dragonfire Blasters or Moonshadow Blades.
Only the ground floor welcomed the public. The other floors demanded referrals. freewēbnoveℓ.com
I stood at the entrance, clicking my tongue. I wanted a machine gun, something that could really unleash hell, or maybe a massive sniper rifle. Those were my favorites!
Cold weapons? No thanks.
One glimpse at the dazzling arsenal inside made my mouth water. Unfortunately, the place was protected by enormous guards.
If only I knew someone who dealt firearms...
Core full of disappointment, I turned to leave. I departed too early, though. If I had just entered and revealed my ear, I could’ve claimed anything I desired inside!
