Chapter 51: Chapter 51 All Her Husbands
Kaelen’s POV
Not bad. They’d all moved quickly enough.
Alistair wasn’t taking chances as long as they couldn’t shield Elara.
"How was that? Did I seem intimidating enough?" I asked from inside the ward.
"Liam serves as one of the Queen’s lovers and her private secretary," Julian replied. "Logically speaking, he shouldn’t stir up problems."
Alistair returned to our group. "Better to be cautious. I broke into 007’s system earlier. Want to know what I discovered in its memory storage?"
"What?" Barrett urged.
Alistair explained, "Elara ventured outside the facility and went considerable distances recently. The Sterling family has a missing daughter, and their search notices have spread even to this location. Plus, Thorne got suspended without compensation. The royal court just announced their decision, then Liam appeared with provisions immediately afterward. Elara’s definitely orchestrating this.
"She’s more cunning than we realized—but that doesn’t guarantee she can avoid every concealed threat. So we need to stay vigilant about everything connected to her... ourselves included."
"Until we can escape, let’s maintain the current situation," Silas stated.
"Agreed," Finnian chimed in.
"By the way, where’s Prince Dorian?" I asked, realizing I hadn’t heard anything from the leopard.
Then Dorian whispered in his sleep, "Elara... stroke me..."
Those words alone made the rest of us clench our jaws.
"Hold on—he’s having an erotic dream?" I burst out.
Even in human shape, Barrett chomped down fiercely on the bed rail. "Behaving like this at his age? Already so flirtatious? Think about what he’ll become when he matures."
The argument erupted.
"Relax. Elara only views him as a child," Alistair said, soothing the others—and reassuring himself as well.
Silas snorted. "More and more males are pursuing my mate."
He suppressed his annoyance, twisted the vine bracelet around his wrist, then got into bed with the garments he’d sewn for Elara.
Finnian rolled his eyes.
Dorian’s been acting possessive recently. Is he becoming demanding from all of Elara’s care?
Julian remained unconcerned. He adjusted his hair in the reflection, sealed his pool area, and emerged to get dressed.
I glared at him, showing my fangs. "You worthless fish—you’re not even pretending anymore, are you?"
He’s flirting with my mate directly in front of me.
"Correct, I’m not," Julian replied coolly.
That enraged me. Damn.
Julian enjoyed looking refined. He donned expensive, expertly-crafted outfits and owned collections of accessories—like royalty. He carried it off flawlessly: graceful, not excessive. His already magnificent features appeared even more striking now.
I seethed.
When will I transform to human form?
In his dream, Dorian nestled against Elara’s embrace, absorbing her caresses.
He whispered, "Elara... Stroke my head... My chin as well..."
Right then, the control panel’s voice announced. "Chamber Three, Dorian: Spirit collapse level reduced by 3 points. Current spirit collapse level: 75."
"What the hell? His level decreases even while he’s dreaming?" I burned with envy.
"Chamber Four, Barrett: Spirit collapse level reduced by 3 points. Current spirit collapse level: 69."
Julian looked puzzled.
"Chamber Seven, Silas: Spirit collapse level reduced by 3 points. Current spirit collapse level: 76."
"Why only them? We all put on the vine bracelets simultaneously! Why didn’t mine decrease?" I protested.
The following moment, the control panel’s voice spoke again. "Chamber One, Kaelen: Spirit collapse level reduced by 3 points. Current spirit collapse level: 75."
"Something’s off," Alistair observed.
"What do you mean?" Finnian inquired.
Alistair answered, "We all wore the vine bracelets at the same moment, yet only their levels dropped initially. Doesn’t that appear odd?"
"You’re suggesting..."
"Contact," Silas stated bluntly.
He went on, "Anyone who’s been touched by Ms. Sterling experiences rapid spirit collapse level reduction."
The revelation stunned everyone. Could physical contact cure their spirit’s deterioration? That was unprecedented.
Alistair went quiet.
"I wasn’t hallucinating when I hacked the food robot. Every single one of them is wed to Elara. That’s why her contact is effective."
Alistair shook his head and laughed harshly. He’d believed only Barrett was her husband.
"I struck gold," Barrett declared.
"Same here," I concurred.
Silas stared vacantly.
"She’s touched that many of them? I’m about to lose control."
They continued discussing when the control panel spoke once more—this time, announcing all seven of them.
My current level was 72.
Julian’s current level was 66.
Dorian’s current level was 73.
Barrett’s current level was 66.
Alistair’ current level was 71.
Finnian’s current level was 54. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Silas’s current level was 74.
"This time, it’s the vine bracelet," Alistair noted.
Much as he despised acknowledging it, the other six were all Elara’s spouses.
Alistair was the eldest among them except for Silas. So he revealed everything openly. They were all linked to Elara through marriage.
He’d done his duty. Whether the others finally grasped the truth or not was no longer his concern.
