Chapter 50: Chapter 50 Dreams and Deception

At the thought of Elara, 007’s optical sensors practically sparkled with adoration. Liam stared in disbelief, his brow creasing.

Can androids actually fall in love? This Voidferal Feral Territory keeps getting weirder—even the machines are acting strange.

After ordering his team to haul the supplies into the kitchen, he questioned, "Didn’t you put in a request for personnel earlier?"

Alistair responded through 007’s speaker system, "Correct. However, that individual encountered insectoids during transit."

Liam’s memory sparked another inquiry. "Has any female arrived here lately?"

Alistair answered without missing a beat, "Negative. The Voidferal Feral Territory poses too many risks for females." freewёbnoνel.com

The lie rolled off his tongue effortlessly. Elara possessed abilities, and her presence had to remain secret until they achieved freedom.

No point taking chances.

His confidence stemmed from knowing Elara would be tucked away in either the basement or her quarters at this time—nowhere near Liam’s path.

Liam accepted this with a nod, wondering if his intelligence was outdated.

Word had reached him about some female accidentally ending up here during the matching ceremony.

His gaze shifted to 007. Security androids operated under system control and handled protection duties—deception wasn’t in their programming.

What Liam overlooked was this: the former supreme commander of the Valerion Empire had mastered the art of infiltration.

The thought never crossed his mind, given Alistair’ catastrophic spiritual collapse readings.

"I need to check on the prince and his companions," Liam announced.

Alistair offered, "Allow me to escort you."

He extended one mechanical arm in a courteous gesture.

"Acceptable." Liam gave his approval.

Elara’s POV

Inside the medical bay, Dorian sprawled across a cushioned mat, grinning like an idiot while mumbling repeatedly, "Touch me..."

In the dream realm, I’d finally caved to his persistent pleading and reached over to mess up his hair.

Dorian’s eyes locked onto mine. "Elara, I’m crazy about you. Why won’t you admit you’re my destined partner? Don’t you feel anything for me?"

I blinked, caught off guard.

Of course I do. I just think you might not make it—I don’t want a partner who could be gone tomorrow. But I can’t say that out loud.

"I do care about you," I said softly.

"For real?" Hope blazed in his expression.

The alcohol had made him bold. He cupped my face in his hands, forcing me to meet his burning stare, terrified I was just saying what he wanted to hear.

"For real," I confirmed.

I exhaled slowly. I knew this wasn’t any ordinary dream. But Dorian was a legendary beast. Having one might not be terrible. My thoughts battled each other.

Absolutely not. He barely hit adulthood—he’s practically a child.

If he were young, sure, he’d be a child. But he’s barely an adult. I might be superficial, but is the system shallow too?

You’re completely shallow. One moment you call them troublemakers; the next you abandon all principles just because he’s attractive.

My principles are based on appearance. If you think I’m shallow, go find someone hideous to date.

This internal argument reached a stalemate.

First truth: I genuinely had no moral backbone.

Second truth: Dorian had just reached maturity—was this even appropriate?

"Elara, I’m so into you. I need you to feel the same way. I can do somersaults!" Dorian mumbled.

I stayed quiet.

Your Highness, you’re completely wasted.

——

Liam approached Dorian’s medical room and stopped dead at what he witnessed. Even in his transformed state and deep sleep, Dorian’s rear legs thrashed wildly, his multiple tails wound together, and his hips swayed constantly.

Liam released a weary sigh.

Thank the stars the Queen decided not to visit today. Seeing him like this would’ve shattered her heart.

His mutation has progressed so far. He probably doesn’t have much time remaining.

Liam moved toward Room Six—complete darkness greeted him. He’d barely tapped on the entrance when something massive slammed into the door. Then came a voice, ice-cold and emotionless. "Leave."

A wave of terrifying psychic energy erupted outward. Liam stumbled backward, panicked.

But from Room Four, Barrett glared at him through the glass with a flushed, furious face.

From Room Two, Julian materialized in his menacing sea creature form.

Room One?

An enormous dragon reared upward, prepared to demolish the ceiling.

Room Seven echoed with Silas’s disturbing laughter, accompanied by the sound of his rabbit fangs frantically gnawing the metal bars.

It sent chills down Liam’s spine.

Liam fled in absolute terror. He’d massively underestimated just how uncontrollable these SSS-ranked beast-shifters became with their collapsed mental states.

"My apologies for what you witnessed," Liam gasped, mopping sweat from his forehead. His pulse hammered wildly.

He’d charged in too quickly without proper assessment—rookie error.

Liam muttered, "They..."

Alistair spoke through 007’s voice synthesizer, "They’re always like this."

The emotionless robotic tone cast a melancholy shadow over the entire situation.

Liam had entered with poise and dignity. But he departed in full retreat. Alistair observed his hasty exit and smirked silently.

Before Liam had visited the medical wing, Alistair had intentionally raised his voice to alert everyone inside.
