She tossed the veggies onto the wooden table and leaned against it, resting the whole weight of her own decision on it. She knew she shouldn’t have reacted badly. But it was safe to say she was scared.
Her chest rose and fell as she felt that scratchy feeling against her heart.
Not physically scared but emotionally scared.
’I am new to all of this.’

She stared at the screen for a moment. That was probably the most honest thing the system had ever said to her. She wasn’t sure what to do with that.
’I can’t allow myself to learn because the last time, everyone left me till I drew my last breath. So why go through such pain and emptiness.’

Her thoughts were raw to herself and the conversation she had with the System but not a single tear rolled down her cheeks. The last time she had cried was when Caius was balls deep inside her and she felt the pain of losing her virginity, and at the same time being ravaged.
Emotions like these didn’t come to her easily, they always came when she least expected.

She decided to stop thinking about it as she looked at the veggies sprawled on the table, then inhaled and exhaled, blinking all her wounds back to where she wouldn’t let them unlock again.

The system screen popped up in her face, and she scrolled through. There was salt, some fresh beef, rice, and some really nice spices that could go well with her food.

Caius watched her, growing more confused by the second. He looked around the cave. There was no one else here.

Rue choked on her own spit as she removed her eyes from the screen immediately and cursed under her breath. She regretted her decision the next minute as she faced something else that wasn’t the screen.
"I shouldn’t have asked!" she growled in a mutter.
That’s when her eyes caught something. Caius was standing behind her, and her heart jumped as she fully turned to face him, while her back pressed against the table that was now filled with everything she purchased from the shop and the veggies.
"How... how long have you been there?!" she stuttered, and he smiled.
He slithered close to her, raising his upper torso as he relaxed on the coils of his tail, looking an inch taller than Rue’s head. He then grabbed a strawberry and placed it in between his teeth.
Rue narrowed her eyes. "You don’t have to eat it if you don’t like the taste."
But to her disappointment, he didn’t respond; he just leaned in and pressed the strawberry to her lips. Three dots formed in her mind as she tried to comprehend what exactly he was getting at.
So she decided to nibble on it, and as she did, he did too.
She looked at the berry. Then at him. He hated strawberries. She knew that. So why was he pressing it to her lips.
She quickly gobbled it in one go, not expecting her lips to slam against his after that one bit of action.
She quickly recoiled.
"I am deeply sorry, I shouldn’t have do---"
But he grabbed her and slammed down his lips against her again, this time he pried her lips open and he kissed her, Rue didn’t even understand what was happening again, when she opened up for him and welcomed him. Her mind became fuzzy and the only thing echoing in her head was.
His lips felt so soft and inviting like berries.
When he finally pulled away, they were both breathing hard, their eyes staring into each other in both lust and confusion. But for different reasons.
"You don’t have to try so hard to win my affection. I am already this attracted to you." He whispered against her lips, sending bolts of electricity through her veins.
Then he chuckled, a sound so delicious that it felt like her heart was being punched without the pain. "A Bunny doesn’t try so hard to win even a predator’s heart."
