Chapter 42: Chapter 42. Record.

Aiden and Butler stood on the opposite end of the fighting platform.

Butler smiled. "I told you to be careful, Mr. Vhorn. It seems you are not willing to take my advice. Seeing you are willing to die so quickly."

Aiden did not reply to him.

Butler’s blue battlesuit grew to every part of his body. His head was covered in a helmet part of the battlesuit. A transparent part of the helmet revealed his eyes and face.

A sword appeared in his right hand.

It gleamed with otherworldly sharpness.

He took a step forward and disappeared towards Aiden.

Aiden’s eyes turned crimson. His brown hair billowed.

Several blobs of blood materialised before him. Some of them transformed into a crimson sword.

He held it in his right hand.

The remaining blobs of blood appeared on his figure and transformed into crimson armor on his figure.

He took a step forward.

The two arrived in the middle of the platform.

Their weapons came down.

Clang...

Clang...

Clang...

Crimson and blue phantom danced across the fighting platform in a flurry exchange of sword attacks.

Many were shocked.

Aiden Vhorn was really able to fight with Butler and keep up with him?

How was this even possible?

They were thinking he was being overconfident earlier. Turns out they had underestimated him.

Those who expected this outcome simply nodded.

In fact, Desmonda was smiling. "He’s not using his full strength."

She had witnessed first hand what Aiden Vhorn was truly capable of.

Across the fighting platform, Aiden’s sword transformed into a crimson hammer mid fight, arced at Butler’s blind spot, and cleaved across his temple.

Butler was sent flying as blood splurged out of his mouth.

A look of shock and terror was written on his face.

"How the hell is this possible?" He could not understand what was happening.

"He was using me to test his strength. This guy has been playing with me all along? Am I that weak?"

He was right. Aiden knew he had fought against chaotic beasts. But fighting human warriors was different. He wanted to know how he would fare against an intermediate rank 1 warrior of Butler’s level before he killed Butler.

"Looks like it’s time to end this," Aiden thought.

Butler stood up.

With blood splurging out of his mouth, gales of wind swept past. His sword disappeared.

He pointed his hand forward.

A large whirlwind transformed into a large overbearing palm of wind.

The palm of wind shot towards Aiden Vhorn.

Aiden Vhorn was calm.

The crimson hammer in his hand turned into a large crimson palm and shot towards the palm of wind.

The two attacks collided. Shockwaves spread outwards and the ground cracked.

The crimson palm tore through the wind palm and obliterated it. It proceeded towards Butler.

Before it arrived before Butler, Butler launched a sphere of wind across his figure, aiming to disrupt the attack.

He drank a worldly energy recovery elixir. His energy reserves were dwindling.

But, how the hell did this Aiden Vhorn not grow tired? Was he even human at all?

Butler also drank healing medicine, recovering from his wounds.

This happened in a moment. He smiled.

He was back to his peak.

He pointed his hand forward.

Several wind blades arced through the air, headed towards Aiden’s crimson palm attack headed towards him in the wind sphere.

Aiden was calm. He stood some distance away from the crimson palm headed towards Butler.

Throughout the battle, many had come to notice that unlike Butler, he did not have any wounds on him.

This meant that Butler had not even managed to land a single attack on Aiden Vhorn.

This first year student was full of surprises.

The crimson palm transformed into a large crimson blade and sliced across the place.

It cleaved through the wind blades and arrived in front of Butler, cleaving through the wind sphere. The wind sphere turned into smithereens.

Butler saw the large crimson blade in his line of vision.

It cleaved through his figure from head to toe.

Before his vision faded, he stared at Aiden Vhorn.

The fellow stood quietly away from him, relaxed.

His crimson eyes were calm.

"This guy has not even revealed a quarter of strength. How terrifying is he at the intermediate rank 1 level? I shouldn’t have overestimated myself." These were his last thoughts before his two halves slid apart from each other and fell on opposite ends, in a pool of blood.

The crimson blade turned into blobs of blood and disappeared into Aiden.

The audience were shocked into stunned silence.

There were many duels happening.

But the majority in the bleachers, from instructors to students, had shifted their focus towards Aiden Vhorn’s battle with Butler.

It was not every day that the strongest first year student challenged a strong second year student to a death duel.

However the outcome most were expecting was different from what they had witnessed.

Butler had been killed effortlessly by Aiden Vhorn.

Aiden Vhorn was very dangerous. This fellow was more experienced in combat than even some second year students. Did he really become a warrior just a few weeks ago?

Desmonda was not surprised.

As for Asmodeus, he simply nodded. But he had to admit that Aiden Vhorn was very powerful. "I suppose he didn’t even use a quarter of his strength. What a monster!" he thought.

Treehill had expected this outcome.

His plans concerning Aiden Vhorn would proceed accordingly. Only this time, he would make Aiden Vhorn die slowly and painfully for killing Butler.

Hourglass was not surprised either.

This much was to be expected from someone who killed 20 intermediate rank 1 assassins she sent after him.

The instructors who had underestimated Aiden Vhorn was so shocked that they could not even speak. Cosmo and Pamela, who had been rooting for Aiden earlier, were enjoying the looks on their faces.

"I should recommend him to father for him to be part of the representatives of Derulo City University for the National Warriors Universities Competition next year. There’s no need to be in a rush though. I should first of all observe his growth for a while," Pamela thought.

As many were processing what was happening, Aiden absorbed the blood essence of Butler.

He felt a surge spread through him.

Meanwhile notifications rung across the place.

Aiden Vhorn’s name shot from rank 19999 on the Heavenly Ascension Ranking List to rank 6999.

Before Aiden Vhorn challenged Butler, he already had 7000 contribution points. Coupled with getting Butler’s contribution points after defeating him, he had bypassed Butler’s rank on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list to rank 6999.

Many realized this was the first time a first year student had managed to get this close to the top rankers list after just a few weeks of enrolling in the university.

In other words, Aiden had set a record.

If this fellow actually kept going at this pace, how long would it be before he appears on the top rankers list?

Aiden checked his contribution points.

21000 contribution points.

He simply nodded.

"Time to deal with the others." Instead of leaving the arenas, he sent death duel requests to many intermediate rank 1 members of the Treehill and Hourglass factions at the same time.

It was not against the rules to have a duel with multiple people at the same time if one preferred this. The rules never stated this was not acceptable.

Many were wondering why Aiden Vhorn was not leaving the fighting platform after killing Butler.

Soon, they did.
