Chapter 43: Chapter 43. Unhinged
Several intermediate rank 1 warriors from the Hourglass and TreeHill societies received notifications from Aiden Vhorn at the same time.
They were all ranked higher than Butler, the guy Aiden Vhorn had just killed.
Glints of greed flashed through their eyes. If they managed to defeat him, they would have all his contribution points. Then, they will be ranked higher on the Heavenly Ascension Ranking list.
"Wait.. did this guy just request for a death duel with me?" Someone from the Treehill Society realized that Aiden Vhorn did not just request a duel with him. He requested for a death duel.
He had white hair and pale fair skin.
Henry Forman.
Ranked 6560 on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list. An intermediate rank 1 warrior.
"He killed Butler. I can’t look down on him. But I am stronger than Butler. I should be able to deal with him," Henry thought. "Also, killing him should help me climb the ranks of the Treehill Society."
He accepted the death duel.
Immediately, it was displayed on the large screens.
Aiden Vhorn Versus Henry Forman, death duel.
Before the audience could process what was happening...
Aiden Vhorn Versus Maryland Wood, death duel.
Aiden Vhorn Versus Caranta Snila, Death Duel.
Aiden Vhorn Versus...
Aiden Vhorn Versus...
Various powerful intermediate rank 1 warriors from the TreeHill Society and Hourglass societies, realized they had all accepted death duels from Aiden Vhorn at the same time.
Everyone realized what was happening...
"Don’t tell me..." Cosmo chuckled.
"He wants to kill them all?" Pamela had a look of disbelief on her face.
The other instructors were equally shocked.
"This...."
"This guy is a real madman," Asmodeus muttered from his seat. "There are 50 of them."
Desmonda was, however, smiling.
Asmodeus noticed her. She was seated a couple of seats away from him.
During Aiden Vhorn’s previous battle, this blue haired lady had been too calm. It was as if she expected Butler to be killed.
Initially, he assumed she had a high opinion of Aiden’s strength like him.
But this time, she was actually smiling. A knowing smile.
"So that’s how it is," Asmodeus realized. "She must have seen him unleash his full power before. It seems that this fight is bagged."
"I hope Aiden doesn’t die," Luke Bryan said. "He’s our teammate on the mission after all. Someone like him will be very valuable during the mission."
"Yeah. He’s strong, but this..." Seraphina Moore added. No one was looking down on Aiden Vhorn. It would be stupid to do that after how he effortlessly killed Butler Lee. But that was one thing, and having a death duel with 50 experienced intermediate rank 1 second year and third year students was another thing.
"Let’s hope he knows what he’s doing," Candice Marcus added.
"No need to be worried guys," Asmodeus added. "I think he has this figured out."
"I wonder where you get your confidence from, Asmodeus. But let’s hope for the best," Luke said.
Meanwhile the arena was in an uproar as the 50 intermediate rank 1 warriors headed towards Aiden Vhorn in the fighting platform.
"This guy is crazy! Extremely crazy!"
"On a regular day, he looks like a normal gentleman. But it turns out he’s actually unhinged."
"He actually decided to take them all on at the same time?"
"Wait...I think I know what’s happening here. The Treehill Society and the Hourglass Society must have tried to do something to him. He refused to join their factions. Those guys are known for always resorting to dangerous methods when someone refuses to join their societies."
"Are you saying Aiden Vhorn is intentionally targeting some of their members because they probably tried to get rid of him?"
"Yeah. This guy is probably taking advantage of the fact that their society heads cannot do anything to him at the moment because of the rules of the combat assessment. He wants to use that as a means to get back at them!"
"I see."
This reasoning started from a few people and spread across the whole arena.
Everyone, from students to instructors now understood why Aiden Vhorn was having this death duel with the members of the TreeHill and Hourglass societies.
But was he not signing his suicide note? Killing Butler was one thing.
But these guys were all stronger than him.
Also, he wanted to fight them together.
This was too absurd. No one looked down on him anymore. Among intermediate rank 1 warriors on campus, Aiden Vhorn was very strong.
But what he wanted to do was simply too absurd.
Many thought.
Treehill finally lost his cool.
He banged his hand on the bleacher seat, causing it to crack.
Aiden Vhorn wanted to kill many members of his society as soon as possible. He wanted to weaken their manpower.
Treehill was well aware that Aiden Vhorn would definitely be able to kill his society members. Aiden Vhorn was not stupid. The only reason why he had requested this death duel was because he knew he’d win.
"This guy.... If I don’t get rid of him right when he leaves campus for a mission, I’m afraid he will cause a lot of trouble for me.." Treehill sighed. He was very angry.
Hourglass felt the same way.
The members of her society Aiden Vhorn had requested the death duel with, were the key members of her society.
Unlike others who thought he was overestimating himself, she knew he’d be able to kill them.
But it was too late to hint to her society members to back out of the duel.
"Even if it would have been possible to tell them to back out, everyone is watching. It will reflect badly on the society. We will become a laughing stock. Everyone will say we are afraid of a first year student. Regardless of how strong he is, 50 people chickening out of a battle with a single person of the same rank...is too disgraceful," she sighed.
"They don’t look down on him. But they feel incensed. Each one of them feels like they can defeat him. The fact that he requested a death duel with all of them at the same time meant he looked down on them. These guys are not brainless people. But they are prideful. There’s no way they’d back out of the death duel even if TreeHill or I were to tell them to. Their pride is on the line," she thought.
This Aiden Vhorn had calculated everything from every angle. He had set the perfect trap for the TreeHill and Hourglass Society key members.
Eventually, the 50 intermediate rank 1 warriors appeared before Aiden Vhorn.
