Chapter 37: Chapter 37. Unbelievable
Aiden watched calmly from the tree, his crimson eyes gleaming.
The Chaotic beasts gravitated towards the places where the corpses had been dropped.
Some of the creatures were hiding under the ground. The ground cracked and moved as they came out of the ground. Most of them were ginormous sandworms.
Aiden gulped.
"It’s always good to be careful. I would have died before I knew it," he thought.
The sandworms followed the smell of the corpses Aiden had left at the designated spots. They dispersed towards various spots where the corpses were.
A brutal exchange occurred between the chaotic beasts as various battles ensued between them over the corpses.
A sandworm would launch a sandstorm towards a cheetah looking creature. The cheetah looking creature would smash its paw gleaming with lightning towards the sandworm.
A reptilian creature would open its mouth and scream, launching a sonic boom towards another creature.
Various attacks on a level Aiden had never encountered before were launched between the creatures.
Aiden observed quietly from the tree.
He was waiting for the overlord of the area, the legendary rank 1 turquoise lizard to move.
Eventually, the legendary rank 1 turquoise lizard opened its eyes.
It looked towards a particular direction where various chaotic beasts were gathered.
Flames wreathed across its figure, propelling it towards that direction.
It arrived there in an instant.
A glint flashed through Aiden’s eyes.
This was his chance. All the creatures were now focusing on the corpses, and their battles. The legendary rank 1 turquoise lizard had also left the place the Solar Herculean Herbs was. It was busy bullying other creatures for the corpses.
No creature, especially the rank 1 turquoise lizard would identify him now if he acted carefully.
Blobs of blood appeared before him and transformed into a crimson hand.
The crimson hand shot through the skies with swift speed under Aiden’s will.
It eventually arrived at where the herbs were.
Quickly, it grabbed 100 herbs and shot back through the air, returning back to Aiden on the tree.
Aiden quickly put the herbs in his storage bag and put the storage bag away.
The crimson hand turned into blobs of blood and disappeared into him.
Aiden quickly left. He didn’t dare to stay in this suicidal place any longer.
****
Desmonda Creed was currently seated on a tree resting.
"I should be able to complete the mission by killing ten more gold horned lions," she said.
Suddenly, she heard some sounds ahead.
She did not move.
However, she activated an advanced rank 1 invisibility bracelet. After that, she activated her lightning affinity. Using aerial maneuvering, she hopped from one tree to another, as lightning propelled her away. Eventually, she arrived some distances away from her previous location.
She observed her environment carefully.
Suddenly, a brown haired fellow with dark eyes clad in a long coat, jeans and sneakers appeared not too far from where she was hiding on a tree.
He was on the ground.
The fellow had a calm expression on his face.
"Aiden Vhorn. What the hell happened to this dude? He looks calm on the surface. But it’s as if he just escaped a life and death situation. Also what’s with his crimson eyes? Oh that must be as a result of his blood related affinity."
Aiden was oblivious to the fact that Desmonda Creed was in the vicinity.
He scanned the place but he didn’t see anyone.
Because she had activated an advanced rank 1 invisibility bracelet, he could not see her.
"Wait..." Desmonda remembered something. "The intermediate rank 1 Golden horned lions were chasing me to this place. They should be arriving here very soon. If he doesn’t leave, he will die. Can he kill them all? I need to do—"
Before Desmonda could finish her statement, she paused.
What the hell was Aiden Vhorn doing?
Several blobs of blood materialised before Aiden. Some of the blobs of blood shot towards his figure and covered him, transforming into crimson armor.
Only his eyes were not covered.
Some of the blobs of blood transformed into a crimson hammer.
Aiden held the crimson hammer.
"Looks like he identified them. This guy’s senses must be insane," Desmonda thought. "The creatures are not even here yet. Yet he has been able to sense them?"
Several golden horned lions prowled forward, eventually revealing themselves to Aiden. They had golden metallic glints flashing across their figures.
They surrounded Aiden from all directions.
There were 50 of them.
50 intermediate rank 1 Golden horned lions.
"I should be stronger after absorbing the blood essence of the assassins and the corpses of Dahlia and the others," Aiden thought. "Let’s see if I can handle these intermediate rank 1 Golden horned lions. This is also a perfect opportunity to test the outcome of training under the effects of gravity."
Several golden metallic objects formed before the golden horned lions. The metallic objects were metals. The Golden horned lions had the metal affinity.
The metallic objects transformed into metallic blades and shot towards Aiden.
Aiden, clad in his crimson armor which looked no different from a battlesuit, eyes crimson, shot towards the creatures, crimson hammer in hand.
The metallic blades appeared before him.
Aiden spun, then brought the crimson hammer down.
Clang...Clang...Clang....Clang...
The numerous golden metallic blades and the crimson hammer met.
"I’m faster. My reflexes are better," Aiden thought. "Looks like the training under gravity was worth it."
Aiden’s hammer moved like a phantom.
Each strike obliterated a golden metallic blade into smithereens.
His movements were fluid, precise, lethal.
"How could someone refine basic combat techniques to such a high level?" Desmonda was surprised.
What sort of combat prowess and adaptability was this?
Hammer danced with crimson warriors, cleaving through the golden blades.
Eventually, the golden blades were all destroyed.
Glints flashed through the eyes of the golden horned lions.
This creature was a threat.
Their golden skins were reinforced with golden steel. Then, together, they rushed towards Aiden from all directions.
Aiden didn’t hesitate to rush towards them.
He leapt through the air like a meteor.
He spun.
His hammer came down.
It met armored skin, then cleaved through skin, then met organs. Skull cracked.
A crimson horned lion’s head was obliterated.
The blood of the creature splurged over the place. The headless body fell.
He smiled.
He landed in the center of the creatures.
Aiden absorbed the dead creature’s blood essence.
Then, what followed next was a blood bath.
Desmonda could not believe what she witnessed next.
