Chapter 38: Chapter 38. Slumbering predator

Aiden Vhorn’s crimson hammer was like an extension of himself.

Also, each time he moved, the hammer cleaved through a golden horned lion.

He was like a tempest of blood and hammer.

The creatures were falling like flies. The hammer cleaved through their bodies. Organs were torn apart and destroyed. Blood splurged everywhere.

Aiden Vhorn’s cold crimson eyes didn’t change. They were calm and predatory as he killed the golden horned lions with calm efficiency.

Desmonda was expecting Aiden Vhorn to get tired eventually. Run out of worldly energy and consume some worldly energy recovery potion, or retreat to recover his worldly energy.

But nothing of that sort happened. His stamina was not decreasing. It was increasing.

How was this possible?

Was this really the calm, civil looking first classmate of hers?

So this was who he was?

Aiden Vhorn was a slumbering predator. This guy seemed polite and calm. But anyone who made a mistake to think that he was a pushover would pay the price for that.

What a monster.

How interesting.

Aiden was oblivious to the fact that someone was watching him.

The Golden horned lions realised that this creature was more of a predator than them.

15 of them remained.

They turned around to flee.

Aiden didn’t permit them to flee.

He needed their blood essence.

The crimson hammer transformed into crimson arrows. The crimson arrows shot towards the fifteen creatures. The crimson arrows pierced through their heads. The creatures roared weakly, then fell on the ground in a pool of their own blood.

They spasmed for a while. Their eyes turned lifeless. They were dead.

Aiden absorbed their blood essence.

He took out his storage bag, about to put the corpses inside them. He would sell them at the Warriors Association for money.

But the storage bag seemed full.

"It seems the storage bag is full. I have more money than I need anyway. I should get a storage bag with more storage capacity when I get back," Aiden thought.

"Tomorrow should be the monthly combat evaluation. I should head back to campus."

His crimson armor and arrows transformed into blobs of blood and returned into him.

After that, he left the place, headed towards the entrance of the danger zone.

Desmonda was still stunned into silence after Aiden Vhorn left.

"Everyone knows he’s the strongest first year student. But this... he’s even stronger than some second year students. It’s not even been a month since he became a warrior, right? The university is in for a root shock during the monthly combat evaluations," she muttered. "I should take the ten corpses I need and leave. It’s not like my storage bag can handle more than that number anyway."

She leaped down from the tree and headed towards where the corpses were.

She sighed deeply. The image of Aiden Vhorn slaughtering these creatures effortlessly was still playing in her head. When she looked at the gory sight before her, she felt chills crawl up her spine.

She shook her head.

She deactivated her invisibility bracelet.

She sent ten of the corpses Aiden had left behind into her storage bag and left the place.

****

Aiden arrived at the entrance of the danger zone.

He left the place and ordered a cab.

In the cab, he tabbed his watch and accessed the mission panel.

[Congratulations on obtaining the Solar Herculean Herbs.

Kindly await the arrival of a delivery bot for the containment and delivery of the Solar Herculean Herbs to the Alchemy Society branch on campus.

Mission completion will be finalized after that]

Aiden simply nodded and closed it.

"Hourglass is definitely worried about the assassins they sent. She must be waiting for a response after all. My safe return to campus will confirm to her that I killed their assassins. If she tries to take advantage of the combat assessment to ask for a death duel tomorrow, I will refuse. She’s an advanced rank 1 warrior. No way I’m willing to throw my life away," Aiden thought.

"However, TreeHill will also send assassins after me the next time I’m outside campus, since Hourglass failed to deal with me. Their desire to eliminate me will no longer be because I rejected their offers to join their societies and they want to protect their pride. It will now be because they deem me someone who holds a grudge against them because I’m aware of their intentions to get rid of me. To them, if they don’t get rid of me, I will grow stronger to get rid of them. Taking a gate mission is the best course of action.

They can follow me into the danger zones. But following me into a gate is not possible as long as none of their society members are part of the team I take the gate mission with. For universe students, danger zones can be entered even if you are not on a mission. But gates can only be entered only when you are on a mission.

I need to head into a gate after the monthly combat assessment. By the time I return, my strengh should be at the level of an advanced rank 1 warrior. That way, I can deal with them once and for all," Aiden decided.

The cab eventually arrived before his villa on campus.

Aiden paid the driver. The cab drove off.

He entered his villa, freshened up and ate something.

After that he played some games.

Soon, the bot arrived.

The bot took the Solar Herculean Herbs and left.

Soon, he received a notification.

[Congratulations on completing your mission.

You have obtained 7000 contribution points.

Current rank on the Heavenly Ascension Ranking List : 19999]

Aiden decided it was time to get some rest.

Tomorrow was the monthly combat evaluations.

Students from every year were preparing themselves for tomorrow.

Aiden stood up, about to head upstairs to get some sleep.

Suddenly, someone knocked on his door.

Who could be knocking on his door at this late hour?

It was not some arrogant fuckers here to disturb him again, right?

Aiden decided to ignore it.

But the knock came again.

His eyes turned crimson and narrowed.

He scanned outside.

"Asmodeus Vincent? What’s he doing here?"
