Chapter 33: Chapter 33. Wrong

Aiden’s response left everyone flaggerbasted.

Even the second year students who had come to recruit him into their societies were taken aback.

What was wrong with this Aiden Vhorn?

"Alright. Thank you for your time."

They started to leave the place.

Eventually, only the representative from the One Tree Society and the Hourglass Society remained.

The duo were top rankers on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list.

One was ranked 5000 and the other was ranked 4900.

"Alright Mr. Vhorn," Leah said. "I’ll relay your decision to the society leadership. Try not to die."

After that, she left.

Aiden completely ignored her. He walked past Butler, about to enter his villa.

"You should know when to lower your head and when to hold it high, Mr. Vhorn," Butler said. After that, he turned around and left.

Aiden calmly entered his villa, leaving the shocked people who had been witnesses to the event in shock.

It was obvious that this news would spread sooner or later.

Aiden sat down on his couch.

"The Treehill and Hourglass societies are known for being ruthless to those who reject their offers. They will try to assassinate me during a mission.

I also have to step out of campus for missions because I need blood essence to grow stronger. So I’ll step out anyway, and they will definitely try to assassinate me. I need to make sure I can lose them when I step outside.

It seems I’ll have to spend some of my contribution points on invisibility bracelets. Most likely, the assassins they will send after will be multiple intermediate rank 1 warriors. They won’t underestimate me. But their society leaders, who are advanced rank 1 warriors, will not come after me personally."

Aiden quickly tapped his watch.

He opened the shop session.

He went through the list of the invisibility bracelets.

"These things are too expensive. With 4000 contribution points, I can only purchase one of them. I need contribution points to access the gravity chamber too. Looks like I can’t access the VR tower this time. But I should be able to spend enough time in the gravity chamber to manage x 15 gravity with the remaining contribution points after making this purchase."

[Advanced rank 1 invisibility bracelet.

The invisibility effect can last for 3 hours.

Cooldown period: 1 minute

Price - 2000 contribution points]

Aiden purchased it.

Instead of an intermediate rank 1 invisibility bracelet, he bought an advanced rank 1 invisibility bracelet because he wanted to prepare for unknown variables where an advanced rank 1 warrior could be part of the assassins.

A few moments later, it was delivered to his doorstep by a bot.

Aiden took it and put it in his storage bag.

He changed his clothes after taking a shower.

Clad in a hoodie, jeans and sneakers, he headed to the training hall District.

When he arrived, he headed to the first training hall, the first floor.

"That’s the guy who rejected the offer to join some societies," a first year student said to their friend.

"Aiden Vhorn right? I heard he’s now an intermediate rank 1 warrior. His speed of cultivation is unheard of."

"Yeah, he’s rumored to be the strongest first year student now, even more powerful than Asmodeus Vincent."

Aiden ignored the conversations, just as he was about to enter the gravity chamber, a figure stepped out of it.

Dark skinned, dark haired, dark eyes.

"Mr. Vhorn," Asmodeus greeted Aiden politely.

"Mr. Vincent," Aiden nodded politely.

That was all. Vincent left after that.

Aiden entered the gravity chamber after that short interaction.

Several had been expecting an altercation between the duo.

After all, these two were the focus of countless discussions when it came to who the strongest first year was.

Although Aiden Vhorn’s recent feats had cemented the fact that he was the strongest first year, it was not every day that the two strongest first year students were seen together.

But to their surprise, Aiden Vhorn and Vincent did nothing of the sort.

"These two have very unique mindsets," Desmonda Creed was heading into a gravity chamber on the first floor herself, when she saw the short interaction between Aiden Vhorn and Asmodeus Vincent.

"They don’t compete with one another. Each one is pursuing their own path. That short interaction without brainless competition and interactions between them cemented that fact," she thought as she entered a gravity chamber to train too.

The discussions died down as the crowd dispersed.

Aiden entered a room in the gravity chamber.

He was yet to pay and use it.

"Asmodeus Vincent. The guy is strong but he has a head over his shoulders. He’s not out to compete with anyone. He just wants to improve himself. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have someone like that as an acquaintance. If possible, we could even become friends. My initial decision to stay away from him was because involving myself with these people from influential backgrounds could lead to unecessary conflicts with them since most of them are like Vultor Han. But he’s different. I was wrong about him," Aiden thought.

He was not a robot. Aiden’s main priority was his cultivation. But he knew he was human. He needed human relationships and he understood the value of people. That did not mean he was desperate to have people in his life.

But he was someone who decided to be very selective of the people he would consider friends.

They had to be mature, and have similar values to his own. He understood that everyone was different at their core. But if at least he encountered someone with similar values to his own, it won’t be bad to befriend them.

Aiden selected the x5 gravity after paying the 1000 contribution points.

He made crimson weapons and trained with them for a while. His movements were fluid and seamless.

Compared to the last time he was here, it was as if the x5 gravity didn’t exist.

Aiden theorised a contributing factor was because of his breakthrough. His power was at the level of an intermediate rank 1 warrior now. So, his physical prowess had improved too.

He ended the x5 gravity. He could have made use of x10 gravity first before moving to x15 gravity. But if he made use of x10 gravity, he wouldn’t have enough contribution points to pay for x15 gravity after that. So, he selected x15 gravity right after that.

"Time to switch to x15 gravity." Aiden selected x15 gravity.
