Chapter 15: Chapter 15. Arriving at Derulo City
"Sure, sir," Aiden replied.
"You guys should head back to campus first," Cosmo said.
Norton and the others nodded. They nodded towards Aiden. Aiden nodded towards them.
"Don’t worry about the corpse. Keep it." Norton and the others agreed.
"Yeah."
"See you around, Aiden." After that, they left the area.
"These guys are really smart. They chose to get in my good books over taking the corpse of the creature. Not that I need it for anything. I should just sell it to the warriors association branch in Derulo City and see what to do with the money."
"Let’s leave this place. I hate reporters," Cosmo said to Aiden.
Aiden nodded.
"Bridget. See you around." Cosmo nodded to Bridget.
"Lucky bastard. You get to befriend a future powerhouse." She clicked her tongue as she winked at Aiden.
Aiden was quite taken aback. Did this woman have a few screws loose or something? He was not into older women. He simply nodded towards her politely and left the place with Cosmo.
His parents stared at his retreating back. It was as if an inseparable wall had separated them from their son forever.

News of Aiden Vhorn’s feat spread throughout Fulco City and Derulo City. Information that he had become a warrior in not less than a week also spread. His age was also revealed.
Everyone was surprised. This had never occurred before. The biological awakening window was age 17 and 18. How was it possible that a 19 year old had become a warrior?
Many theories came up. But eventually, it was concluded that he was a special case of delayed awakening. Although it was unnatural for something like that to happen, that was the only explanation for what had happened.
The focus shifted from his unnatural awakening to the fact that a few days after becoming a beginner rank 1 warrior, he had managed to play a great role in clearing a special rank 1 gate. This young man really had potential.
As for the fact that he entered a gate without being affiliated with any university as a warrior, he could not be blamed. It was not like he willingly walked towards a guarded gate and decided to bypass protocol to enter it. An accident had occurred that led to that. So, he was not fined for that. As a matter of fact, he had closed a gate. The Warriors Association would have been deemed petty even if they decided to fine him.
Also, there were even rumors that he was seen chatting with an instructor of Derulo City University, a legendary rank 2 warrior. Many connected the dots. Aiden Vhorn would definitely enroll in Derulo City University, even though the enrollment period had passed.
Several Guilds in Derulo City and Fulco City were paying attention to Aiden Vhorn. They decided that, if nothing untoward killed him, they would try to talk him into joining their guilds after he completed his two year military service after graduation.
As for his parents, the hate on them on social media forums was serious. Many referred to them as blind fools who did not value a son with such potential. They had even driven him to the point where he cut ties with them. Others also deemed Aiden as too cold-hearted. After all, in their opinion, regardless of what had happened between them, they were still his parents.
But Aiden Vhorn, naturally, didn’t care about any of this.
Currently, he was in a vehicle headed towards Derulo City. Cosmo was driving.
"About what I wanted to talk to you about, I’m sure you have already figured it out," Cosmo said. "Although the enrollment period has passed, would you like to enroll in Derulo City University? I can make a few calls on campus and get it done."
"Thank you, sir," Aiden replied politely.
"You’re welcome. Since your admission is already decided, I should save you the trouble of orientation. Let me give you a brief overview of the university," he said.
Aiden listened quietly.
"Derulo City University is one of the best universities in the Eldorath Empire. There are 70 universities spread across the 50 states in the Eldorath Empire. Derulo City University is one of the most prestigeous universities, in not just Hessington State, but in the whole empire"
"Like most universities, Derulo City University operates on a mission reward system. Students take on University missions, then they are rewarded with contribution points for completing the missions they take on."
"Missions cover a wide range of tasks you’d come to identify later after you enrol, so there’s no need to go into details on that."
"You can use contribution points to access warrior related resources on campus, such as purchasing cultivation manuals, accessing gravity chambers, purchasing weapons and other artifacts from the Artifact Engineers Association branch on campus and pills of different calibers from the Alchemy Association branch on campus. There’s also a ranking system for students, which comes with various discounts for purchasing University resources, for top rankers. It’s called the Heavenly Ascension ranking list."
"The Heavenly Ascension ranking list is based on the contribution points of students. The higher your contribution points, the higher your rank."
"Oh, and killing is not allowed on campus. What happens between students outside campus rather, is their business. If a grudge between students is at a point where one has to die, that can only happen on University grounds in the death arenas. Apart from that, students can’t kill each other on University grounds. But normal duels and occasional skirmishes between students is not a problem. In fact, there’s a monthly combat evaluation organized by the university for students. If you lose to someone in the monthly combat evaluation, that person gets to take all your contribution points. As for lectures, one can choose to attend or not attend them. But one must be present for monthly combat evaluation assessments. If you fail the monthly combat evaluation assessment for three consecutive or separate months, you’ll be expelled from the university. Student hostels and apartments are available on campus. Derulo City University is a community in its own right. Student Hostels and apartments are the only resources that can only be accessible with normal cash. Of course, one can also decide to live outside university premises."
Aiden listened quietly, understanding how the system worked.
"This system is really designed to fuel competition among students. No wonder it’s one of the best universities in the empire," Aiden thought.
"Students also have the freedom to leave the university premises for their personal matters whenever they want. As for campus relationships, no one has a problem with that. Heck, even professors date students."
Aiden simply nodded. He did not know why the man emphasized on the dating part, as he would not be focusing on a relationship at the moment. Though, if he found a lady whose values aligned with his own, he would not see having a love life as a bad idea. However, it was not his primary priority.
"I’m sure you are also aware that one can graduate after becoming a legendary rank 2 warrior. That basically sums up how the university system works. You’ll come to discover some things during your stay on campus."
"Thanks sir." Aiden nodded. The man’s information had been very helpful.
"You’re welcome," Cosmo replied. "Oh, we’ve arrived at Derulo City."
