Chapter 131: Chapter 131 Level ten monsters.

Crash!

Crash!

Their backs smashed violently against the guard wall behind them.

Pain shot through their entire bodies.

The impact knocked the breath from their lungs.

"What the fuck, System?! What kind of monster is this? Why didn’t it die even after I shot it in the head?" Ivy asked inwardly as she quickly climbed back to her feet, Darren doing the same beside her.

Ding!

{This is a Level Ten monster, Host. The others you have been fighting and considering dangerous are merely ordinary Level Two monsters.}

"What?!" Ivy screamed inwardly in disbelief. "A Level Ten monster?! Then how the hell are we supposed to kill it?"

Ding!

{You were unable to kill it because it possesses a protective shield around its skull. The shield prevented your bullets from penetrating its head and destroying its brain.}

Meanwhile, while Ivy was still conversing with the system in her mind, Darren had resumed firing continuously.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

A storm of bullets slammed into the monster’s body.

However, the creature remained completely unfazed.

It simply stood there motionless, allowing the bullets to strike it as if Darren were nothing more than a child throwing pebbles at an armored tank. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Its red eyes remained locked onto them, filled with an unsettling intelligence and cold amusement.

The sight sent chills down Ivy’s spine.

Ding!

{You cannot kill it easily, Host. Retreating is strongly advised.}

"Why the fuck didn’t you tell me there was a Level Ten monster here?!" Ivy cursed inwardly.

Unfortunately, the system offered no response.

Grinding her teeth in frustration, she immediately turned toward Darren.

"We need to go! Right now!"

"What?!" Darren shouted over the deafening gunfire. "What about the fuel tankers?!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

He continued pulling the trigger relentlessly.

"We have to kill this thing! Why the fuck isn’t it dying? We can’t just leave the fuel tankers behind!"

"It’s a Level Ten monster, Darren!" Ivy yelled back while rushing toward the armored vehicle. "The monsters we’ve been killing this whole time were only Level Two. This thing is on a completely different level!"

Darren’s face paled instantly.

"A Level Ten?"

"Yes!" Ivy replied urgently. "I’m sure there are weapons capable of killing a monster like this, but we don’t have anything powerful enough right now. If we stay here, we’re the ones who’ll die instead."

Hearing the seriousness in her voice, Darren finally understood that this wasn’t a battle they could win.

Still, he continued firing as he slowly retreated backward toward the armored vehicle.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The bullets struck the monster’s chest and shoulders repeatedly, yet they failed to do any significant damage.

The creature merely stared at him.

Almost as if it were patiently allowing Darren to finish his futile resistance before claiming his life.

That realization made Darren’s scalp tingle.

Without another word, he increased his pace.

The moment the monster noticed them retreating, its expression changed.

A low growl escaped its throat.

Then it moved.

Boom!

The ground cracked beneath its feet as it launched itself forward.

Its speed was terrifying.

Within seconds, it was charging straight toward Darren like a speeding train.

"Shit!" Darren cursed.

Fortunately, he had already reached the armored vehicle.

He grabbed the door handle, yanked it open, and jumped inside at the last possible second.

"Move! Move! Move!" he shouted.

The engine roared to life.

VROOOOM!

The armored vehicle shot forward at high speed, kicking up dust and debris behind it.

At the same time, Ivy activated one of the vehicle’s defensive functions through the system.

Sharp steel spikes suddenly extended from the rear of the armored vehicle.

The Level Ten monster continued its relentless pursuit, rapidly closing the distance between them despite the vehicle’s speed.

Seeing the creature gaining on them, both Ivy and Darren felt their hearts sink.
