The armored vehicle sped down the highway while the level ten monster continued chasing after them. Its massive weight caused the ground to tremble with every thunderous step it took.
Ivy gripped the side of the vehicle tightly, her eyes fixed on the terrifying creature behind them while Darren continued driving as fast as he could.
"It’s catching up!" Ivy shouted, terror flashing across her face.
Darren tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
Before either of them could react, the monster suddenly leaped into the air.
Boom!
Its enormous body landed directly on the rear section of the armored vehicle, causing the entire vehicle to shake violently.
Crack!
The overpass guardrail beside them shattered under the impact.
Ivy’s eyes widened in horror.
"Watch out!"
The armored vehicle smashed through the damaged railing and slid sideways. Half of the vehicle hung dangerously over the edge of the overpass while the other half remained on the road.
Below them was a drop of several dozen meters.
If the vehicle fell, both of them would almost certainly die. Even if their abilities somehow allowed them to survive the fall, they would still suffer severe injuries. Worse still, construction work had been taking place beneath the overpass before the apocalypse began. Numerous construction materials remained scattered below, including sharp steel rods and jagged metal beams pointing upward that could easily skewer anything unfortunate enough to land on them.
The monster immediately seized the opportunity.
Roaring furiously, it climbed onto the side of the hanging vehicle and raised its massive claw. Its weight caused the armored vehicle to tilt even lower over the edge.
Ivy reacted instantly.
She raised her weapon and fired.
Whoosh!
A blazing fireball shot from the gun and slammed directly into the monster’s chest.
The impact forced the creature back slightly, but it wasn’t enough to stop it.
The monster let out an enraged roar and charged forward once more.
Ivy continued firing relentlessly.
Whoosh!
Boom!
Whoosh!
Boom!
Each fireball exploded against the creature’s chest, scorching its flesh black and sending sparks flying into the air.
However, the monster appeared almost completely unaffected.
"Damn it..." Ivy muttered through gritted teeth.
The next second, the monster swung its massive arm.
Bang!
The powerful strike slammed into the armored vehicle, causing it to tilt even further over the edge.
The entire vehicle groaned under the strain.
Ivy nearly lost her balance.
Her body slipped.
For one horrifying moment, she was almost thrown off the overpass.
A scream nearly escaped her lips as she desperately grabbed a metal handle. Her fingers tightened around it with all her strength as she struggled to pull herself back onto the vehicle.
Her heart pounded wildly inside her chest.
The monster was already charging toward her again.
Seeing the danger she was in, Darren’s expression hardened.
Without hesitation, he climbed out of the armored vehicle.
A determined look appeared in his eyes.
"Ivy! Move!"
In desperation, Darren unleashed his water ability.
A massive torrent of water erupted from his hands.
Whoosh!
Unlike the small streams he had previously been capable of producing, this was a powerful water spear compressed under immense pressure.
The attack shot forward like a high-powered cannon.
Pierce!
The water spear tore through the monster’s skull with overwhelming force.
The impact knocked the creature backward.
Its massive body lost balance and tumbled over the side of the overpass.
ROOOARRR!
The monster’s furious roar echoed through the air as it fell.
Several seconds later—
Crash!
The creature slammed heavily into the construction site below.

Blood splattered everywhere.
The monster twitched violently before gradually becoming still.
Silence followed.
Ivy and Darren stared down at the creature below.
Neither of them spoke for several moments.
Finally, Ivy swallowed hard.
"Is it dead?" she murmured.
Darren exhaled heavily.
"I don’t know. But let’s pull the vehicle back onto the road first."
Ivy nodded immediately.
Together, they grabbed hold of the armored vehicle.
Thanks to their enhanced strength, they slowly managed to drag the vehicle back onto stable ground.
The process took several exhausting minutes.
Once the vehicle was finally safe, both of them sat down briefly to catch their breath.
Darren glanced at the motionless corpse below before a grin spread across his face.
"Nice work," he said with a light chuckle as he looked at Ivy, admiration visible in his eyes.
