Chapter 81: Witches (4)
"Why are you putting the spell on the necklace instead of the room?" Asked Aurora.
Agatha continued to hold up the necklace while Minerva began chanting a spell and Morgan watched on the sidelines. "As you wear the necklace, no one far away will be able to hear what you are saying. It’s ten times much better than just having one room with the spell. The spell creates a bubble around you and the person you must touch to speak to. Only use it for important matters and not every day."
"Remember, touch the person you only want to hear you. Take it off right away when you want to speak to others in a crowd. The silence spell is really strong and if you keep it on around others and touch no one, none of them will hear you even scream. In the case of danger and you want someone to hear you yelling, wearing this can be bad." freewёbnoνel.com
"I was told Vincent has one of these spells on his home but I didn’t have to touch any of the workers to hear them." Aurora hadn’t touched Mari, Abel, Derek, Peter, or Jane before but they spoke like normal.
"Different kind of silence spell. The one used on homes works when you enter the area you placed the spell around. Some work where others can’t hear what is being said on your property but you can hear what those outside are saying. Others you aren’t able to hear outside of your property. The spell varies depending on what the customer wants. For you, we gave you something different because you’ll need it."
"We can also add a spell to your door which restricts them from entering unless you call their name. You might want to have it considering you’re living with a man. It’ll cost you extra for us to do it. One more ring won’t hurt you right?" Agatha smiled revealing rotten teeth. Once she noticed Aurora staring at them, she switched to pearly white teeth. "Sometimes the spells have a negative effect on the body but another spell can hide that."
"Do you want the spell on the door?" Minerva asked, rubbing her hands at the thought of more money. The business wasn’t great these days and Aurora was the only one who came back for their services.
Aurora took up a ring and handed it to Agatha. The more things she had placed to protect herself, the better. She was in an unfamiliar place and had no memory of people who might not like her. Vincent or Jane might not be there to help her at some point so this would be her safe place to run to. freewёbnoνel.com
Right before Agatha went up to the door to place the spell on it, Jane appeared with a box of frogs and handed it to the witch then returned to her previous position. Agatha was now distracted by her box of frogs and walked away from the door making Minerva be the one to do the spell.
"All done. Pleasure doing business with you. If you ever need us, break this stick again." Minerva handed her a stick just like the last one then disappeared leaving a cloud of green smoke. Agather also disappeared more interested in the frogs to say goodbye.
Only Morgan was left now. "Thank you for trying to cheer me up back there. My sisters can be cruel with their words but what can I expect from a witch? I’m not the most skilled at spells among my sisters but if you ever need me for anything, please use this," she placed a red-colored stick in Aurora’s hand. "I added my own little touch so no one would get confused. I had this on me for so long and now I finally have someone to give it to."
"Don’t feel like I am guilt-tripping you into calling me one day. I know my sisters are the better option. If you need someone to talk to, I can be of service. It gets boring just talking to my sisters. All they talk about are spells and frogs but because I am still trying to be a better witch, those conversations bore me."
"I would love to call upon you in the future." So far the day was going well for Aurora since she met a lot of new friends. Aurora didn’t have many run-ins with witches to know how terrible they could be but Morgan hadn’t made her fear for her life.
"Thank you. I have to leave before my sisters show up here again." Just like her sisters, Morgan disappeared leaving behind a cloud of smoke.
Aurora placed the sticks on her desk alongside the jewelry she dropped out.
"Excuse me," Jane cleared her throat by the door. She heard the entire conversation about the spell on the door and tested it out when Aurora placed something on her table. Something she couldn’t see zapped her finger she tried to push it through the doorway. "It’s working."
"You can come in Jane," Aurora called her name just as the witches instructed her to.
"You are really trusting. I don’t know anyone who would just call upon a witch alone. You might want to think things over before acting again. It ended well this one time but I recommend you not do it again."
"You are aware I remember nothing about Vincent but I came with him and he could be a bad person. Without being the trusting person that I am, I would have never come with him. I know what two-face look like because I have stared into the eyes of a woman who was like that daily. I’m never going to trust anyone when my body tells me not to and I don’t get that feeling from the witches."
The only thing Aurora regretted was not informing Vincent she was inviting the witches here. Her excitement got the best of her back then but now she was determined to never do that again. "Believe me, Jane, I am well aware to look out for people I shouldn’t trust."
