Chapter 80: Witches (3)

Aurora quickly closed the door of her room and began searching for the stick she packed in her bag. Luckily, Mari had not started unpacking the bag she brought and it was still where Vincent left it when he brought her here. She turned the bag upside down allowing all the contents to fall out.

She found the stick tangled up in one of her dresses. "There it is," she placed the bag aside now that everything was out of it and took up the stick. She immediately broke it since that was what the note said.

Not long after, the room began full up with green smoke, and in the midst of it all were the three witches.

"The coven is at your service," Morgan spread her arms out wide welcoming whoever it was that called for them.

Minerva waved her hand in front of her face to get rid of some of the smoke. "Why is it when you do the teleportation spell there is always so much smoke Morgan?"

"Does the customer have any frogs?" Agatha asked, more concerned about that than the smoke. She was always in need of the little creatures.

"I sent someone to get them," Aurora said, turning the focus to her. She smiled awkwardly when all three of their gazes came to her. "Hello again!"

"It’s the girl we sold the book to. I’m surprised to hear from you so early. Is the big bad wolf haunting your dreams again? Is this your home? No one has ever invited us to their home," Morgan said inspecting the room. The girl was brave to casually call witches to her home.

"This place is giving me a bad feeling," Agatha commented.

"Actually, we’re in his home. Maybe you know him. His name is Vincent Lawerence and-"

"What!" Morgan yelled but then covered her mouth realizing her mistake. Her sisters were also in shock that they were inside Vincent’s home. The man wasn’t fond of them and to think this girl just invited them into the lion’s den.

"Is there something wrong?" Aurora started to wonder if she just invited one of Vincent’s enemies into his home. Maybe she should have asked for permission instead of being so impulsive. It was a stupid mistake she’ll never do again.

"Yes, there’s something wrong. Did he tell you to call us to kill us? We have the right to deny your service and leave before-" fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

The door of Aurora’s bedroom creaked open revealing Vincent who wasn’t particularly happy with finding the three witches in his home. He shifted his line of sight to Aurora and she innocently smiled back at him. He shifted back to the witches all hugging each other now that he was here. At least they had a good memory to remember he did not like them. "Why are they here Aurora and why is Jane just standing outside your door?"

Aurora felt like she was being scolded by one of her tutors again. Vincent’s anger wasn’t directed at her but it still made her scared. "The thing is, everyone here has good hearing and knows everything I say or do so I wanted to get something from the witches to help with that. I didn’t know you had a bad relationship with them. It’s completely my fault they are here and I should’ve asked for permission. I’m sorry."

"What will you surprise me with next woman? Fine, get what you need from them but I don’t want them stepping outside of this room. Jane is out here so if anything goes wrong yell for her. However, I’m certain nothing will go wrong," he threatened the witches.

Seeing his claws appear on the door the three shook their heads that nothing would go wrong.

Vincent then reluctantly closed back the door.

"What is it you were saying about the frogs again? How many of them have you sent for?" Agatha asked now that they were out of danger for now. She was happy to have a customer finally listening to her.

"How can you think about frogs when we were close to death?" Minerva argued with her sister. "Forget about the frogs for now!"

"How can I when I have lots of spells that require them? I’m surprised the wolves let someone who is not like them on the inside of their community. Who are you?" Asked Agatha, suspicious of Aurora’s identity. Not everyone just welcomed an outsider in unless they were special.

"I’m actually not certain about who I am to give you an answer. I’m sorry for putting you in a predicament like this. Why doesn’t Vincent like you? I was told witches give the people here spells."

"It’s my fault. He requested a spell from us and I wasn’t good with spells back then. I failed to notify him of this fact and when I tried to perform the spell, I almost turned him into a goat. Luckily, he avoided it but it hit one of his servants. You can see why he’s so upset. Imagine a wolf becoming a goat," Morgan chuckled but her sisters didn’t find it funny.

"Even now her spells are still not working properly. Mother would turn you into a pig if she saw you now. A spell to affect werewolves’ hearing will be pretty pricey, young one. Do you have any money with you?" Minerva asked, ignoring the sad expression on Morgan’s face. Her sister was sometimes too weak-minded to be a witch.

Aurora felt bad the other two sisters hadn’t acknowledged how their words made their sister feel. "I think over time you will be a great witch," she complimented Morgan. "I have some money and jewelry in exchange for the spell. Please tell me if I need more."

"From one rich home to another huh? We’ll just take three of the rings and the frogs when you have them. The rings will sell for plenty of money. Here we go," Agatha picked up a necklace with a blue gem to place the spell on.
