Chapter 70: Old friends (5)

"Okay, that’s enough," Vincent said, separating the two of them. Didn’t Victor have the common sense to notice the weird position he was putting Aurora in because she had no idea about their previous friendship? "You don’t just hug a woman so intently when she doesn’t know you."

"I know her!" Victor argued whilst pointing to Aurora.

"She doesn’t remember anything about you," Vincent explained once more to his brother. Why did their parents spend so much time and money on his education if he wasn’t going to be so quick to catch on to what was going on? "Take baby steps with her." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

"I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable, Aurora. It’s been a really long time since you’ve been here and I missed the conversations we used to have. I should’ve known you didn’t remember anything because you would’ve come looking for me to tell me your back. My stupid brother has been keeping you all to himself," Victor glared at his older brother. If this wasn’t his first meeting with Aurora after such a long time, he would battle his brother right here, right now.

"It hasn’t been a full day since I’ve arrived so he wouldn’t have gotten the chance to tell anyone that I’m here. He probably didn’t mean to offend you," Aurora said in defense of Vincent so Victor wouldn’t get the wrong idea.

However, Victor wasn’t convinced. He looked at Vincent grinning at him when Aurora wasn’t looking. This confirmed she truly didn’t remember anything about Vincent either because his brother most definitely did this on purpose. Wait until she finds out about his personality.

"Sure," he replied to keep the peace Aurora was trying to have.

"Are you boys done fighting over her in my shop? This is why I should’ve kicked Vincent out and just kept her here. Why do you easily remember her and I don’t?" Cherry questioned Victor. She heard him say he was friends with Aurora. Cherry was friends with most of the same people as Vincent and Victor but remembered nothing about Aurora.

"The two of you were good friends too. Maybe not so good if you don’t remember her. I’m sure Aurora has a valid excuse for not remembering us but you, what’s your problem, Cherry?"

"Victor, don’t make me fight you because you know I always win. I would hate to embarrass you in front of her," Cherry warned him. She couldn’t deal with both Lawerence brothers in one day.

"I always let you win." Which was the truth because Victor didn’t want to kill her joy of beating him. He went easy on her and allowed her to win but Cherry always thought it was his ego denying the truth.

"Are they..." Aurora trailed off whispering to Vincent now that Cherry and Victor were distracted. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

"As I said before, she has a non-existent love life but so does my brother," Vincent replied, tuning out the babbling duo and just focused on Aurora.

"I have a love life," the pair said in full defensive mode. It wasn’t like they couldn’t hear what Aurora and Vincent said just because they were whispering. Three of the people in the room were werewolves with really good hearing.

"Denial is the word of the day it seems. Are you done with the dresses Cherry and do you not have a household to run Victor?" Vincent asked the pair so that he might get rid of them. If only Aurora had agreed to leave Cherry’s shop a while ago they might have avoided his brother. This was meant to be his time with Aurora, not Victor jumping in to revisit old memories he had with Aurora.

"I’m almost done. If you’re so busy why don’t you just leave her here?" Cherry muttered going back to pack the dresses to have a delivery boy sent to Vincent’s home. Once this was done, she planned to steal Aurora away from Vincent and Victor.

"That’s not going to work on me, Vincent. I have a butler who is more than capable of taking care of my home while I am away. Now that I don’t live with you, you can’t tell me what to do. And as long as Aurora doesn’t mind, I’m going to stay right here beside her," Victor folded his arms showing that he was objecting to Vincent pushing him away. "He’s just jealous of our friendship and thinks I want to steal you away from him. I could if I wanted to."

Vincent’s laughter started to become louder the more time passed by after what Victor said. "Dear brother, I would never be jealous of you. I don’t care about you having a friendship with her or the two of you spending time together. However, this is my time to help her understand the relationship she had with me. I’ll be sure to help her remember you so run along and do whatever it is you like to do."

’Is it really this serious?’ Aurora thought to herself. She felt like the popular kid everyone wanted to sit next to. She always wondered what that felt like and now that she knew, Aurora wished she was the kid everyone avoided. At this rate, there’ll be tons of arguments wherever she goes today. Going back home with Vincent might be better. She needed to work on remembering her past before coming outside.

"Vincent," she placed her hand on the man beside her to bring his attention to her. "I’m sorry to cut the tour short but can we please return home?"

Vincent smiled at Victor feeling triumphant in this battle. He stood up fixing his clothes and began to rub salt in Victor’s face. "Of course, we can return home right away. Enjoy loneliness brother-"

"Actually," Aurora interrupted Vincent before he could finish the sentence. "I was thinking maybe we could invite Cherry and Victor over for dinner? I would love to get to know them more. It might help me to remember them quicker."

Vincent peered down at the small woman who thought she could have things her way and she was right but he wasn’t going to give her so easily. "No."

He liked their new exchange system which started earlier. A kiss for a favor.
