Chapter 69: Old friends (4)
"Don’t listen to him. My love life is not non-existent, it’s just complicated. Aren’t the majority of them complicated anyway? You know what, I don’t like Vincent with you. I’m going to set you up with someone else," Cherry loudly spoke and waited for Vincent’s reply but he didn’t give her one. "So boring. Go take a seat while I pick out some dresses for you, honey."
"Thank you," Aurora replied, going to the other heart-shaped chair beside Vincent.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" He asked when she sat down.
"Yes. Cherry is a lovely person to be around and she makes wonderful dresses. I envy the talent of being able to make beautiful dresses. I tried making one before but the stitches were all wrong. I should’ve tried again but I never did." Aurora looked around the shop more and only saw one pair of male clothes. "Do you buy your clothes from here too?" She asked Vincent.
"I would never allow Cherry to make my clothes. I can only imagine what she would send to my house as a joke. Someone who has been making my father’s clothes is still making mine."
"He must be really old. I don’t see anyone old here. Why is that?" She questioned now realizing that no one here looked old.
"We stop aging physically after we turn twenty-seven. You won’t find an old-looking wolf. Keep that in mind when you meet others in the future. You might become friends with someone’s grandfather. If Cherry picks out something you don’t like, you can say you don’t want it," he said, watching Cherry stack dresses on dresses in the corner. She was enjoying picking out dresses for Aurora because it meant she got to hit his pockets.
"Of course but I don’t think she’s going to pick out anything I don’t like. She has a fire in her eyes to give me a makeover that suits me and bring you to your knees," Aurora smiled, recalling what Cherry told her earlier. freёwebnovel.com
"If it doesn’t bring me to my knees, we’re going to take the dresses back. If she’s advertising it as such I expect to be wowed when you put them on. Would you like to finish the tour while Cherry picks out the dresses? I will have them sent to my home."
"I want to stay here a while longer. Cherry’s personality reminds me of my sister Regina so it’s calming to be here. Do you have any word about what’s happening with the Hamiltons? Is Samuel alright? Is Regina okay? What she plans to do won’t be easy and we’ve learned that Minnie would kill anyone close to her to get what she wants." If a husband was easy to kill, in Aurora’s opinion, a granddaughter wouldn’t be too difficult.
"Are you talking about her ex-husband?" Vincent commented and when he felt Aurora’s surprised gaze on her, he continued to spill one more secret. "Do you know about her affair with the butler? I have a theory that the butler is actually her son’s father."
"What?" Exclaimed Aurora at this news. How could Minnie and Ducan be together? "How do you know all of this?"
"Simple, I have been watching that house from a distance. The amount of wolves bane they placed around was annoying but I still got to see a lot of the secrets they were hiding. There are a lot of ways your sister can make that house her own if she plays her cards right. That woman is becoming older by the day and I would’ve pushed her down stairs by now," Vincent smiled imagining the thought. "Don’t look at me like that Aurora. Some people you have to kill or they will kill you. Didn’t she try to take you somewhere?"
"That’s not what I’m frowning about. Regina has no one on her side to go against Minnie and then against her own mother. Samuel is meant to take over the house and Rachel has been planning to marry off Regina. Maybe she should’ve come with us," Aurora started to regret her decision of leaving without Regina.
Vincent sighed since he still had to think about the Hamiltons even though he despised them. "She knew it would be a hard task and still decided to go for it. She must already have a plan or something. I’ll keep someone watching that house to make to see how she is doing."
"Thank you."
"Do I get a reward for doing this?" He grinned deviously whilst looking at her.
Aurora knew this was coming and instead of saying he didn’t need one, she asked, "What kind of reward?" The more he grinned the more his dimples became evident and now she wished he would stop doing it. She wasn’t surprised to see him tapping his cheek asking for a kiss right there. This man truly did not have any shame but he was doing her many favors.
She started to lean forward to do it quickly but as her lips touched his cheek, the door of Cherry’s shop flew open to reveal a man. Aurora moved away from Vincent as she didn’t want to be seen by a stranger kissing him. A stranger who looked a lot like Vincent.
"Why didn’t you tell me she was back?" The man questioned Vincent who casually shrugged. "Aurora!"
"Hello," she greeted though she didn’t know him. "You are?"
"Victor Lawerence. I’m this fool’s younger brother and if not for the gossip I wouldn’t have known you were here again. You and I are friends," Victor greeted and cautiously approached her. Not because he was afraid of Vincent but because she was looking at him as though she has never seen him before. "Don’t you remember me?"
Aurora shook her head apologetic once again. Going outside on a tour was starting to make her feel bad because she was running into people she didn’t remember. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Victor forced a smile because of this but he surprised Aurora when he suddenly hugged her. "It’s good to have you back."
