Chapter 68: Old friends (3)

"Have you found anything you want to wear Honey?" Cherry asked Aurora when she got to her side. Vincent wasn’t the one going to be wearing the dresses so his opinion did not matter.

Aurora released a dress she was holding and awkwardly smiled because she wasn’t used to some of the designs and styles she was seeing. A girl in the other towns would be talked about for days for wearing some of these. However, they were all beautiful in her opinion. Maybe in another world where people were less judgemental. She didn’t like the way others looked and judged her."They’re all lovely." freёwebnovel.com

"But..." Cherry trailed off waiting for the excuse of why she wasn’t going to pick a dress.

"I’m not used to some of these styles and back home these were really rare. I’m not even sure how I will look in one of these. Anyway, I wasn’t looking to buy a dress today-"

"Are you crazy?" Cherry abruptly grabbed Aurora’s shoulder and tried to shake some sense into her. "One, you’re not wherever the hell you came from anymore. Two, wear what you want because I can predict the fashion future and your jaw will drop with where it’s going. Three, if you have someone wanting to spoil you please take the opportunity to get what you want."

She turned Aurora around to look at Vincent watching people pass by outside. "You have no idea who is spoiling you. Many would kill to receive this kind of treatment. He’s like a king here and has plenty of money to spare. Isn’t this the dream of most young girls? What’s your name?"

"Aurora."

"Just Aurora? No last name? Then you’re like me. I didn’t like the name my mother gave me so I changed it. Now, let me ask you again, is there anything you like? Forget about the old rules you had to follow. We’ll get you some new styles and some old ones you were accustomed to," Cherry turned her back around to the dresses. "If it caught your eyes earlier, pick it out because I’m selling it to him."

"Okay," Aurora replied, going for the dress she was looking at earlier.

"Some progress," Cherry clapped her hands excited to transform Aurora. Sometimes all a woman ever needed was a little push to come out of their shell. That push came in the form of another woman cheering her on. "Do you perhaps remember me? Your face is popping up in my head but I can’t seem to remember anything."

"I’m sorry but I have no memory of anyone here. Not even Vincent," Aurora smiled apologetically. She had to work on remembering her past for moments like this.

"Oh. That’s okay honey. We can get to know each other again. You’re going to need a girl pal here and let me just say, I’m the most fun person you’ll meet here. I can keep you up to date with dresses, the latest gossip, have sleepovers, and we can talk about Vincent behind his back."

Aurora nodded, liking the idea of having Cherry as her friend. The woman did seem like she was a ball of fun to be around. She wondered how Cherry and Vincent met to become friends because they didn’t seem like two people you would expect to be friends with each other. "I would love for us to be friends."

"You hear that Vincent? I’m going to be friends with this lovely lady and eventually steal her away from under your nose. By the way, how long are you planning to stand there while I help her pick out clothes?" Asked Cherry.

"The entire time. I’m taking her around on a tour," Vincent replied, moving away from the window to take a seat on one of the chairs Cherry placed for customers. Vincent’s lip twitched, becoming more irritated with the chair now that he sat on it. "Why on earth do you need soft love-shaped chairs, Cherry?"

Aurora giggled when she looked around and saw Vincent sitting in said chairs. It was comical to see him in a heart-shaped chair.

"Because they bring a good mood to my shop, you fun sucker. No one said you had to stay with us. She’ll be perfectly fine with me-"

"No, just help her pick out what she wants, Cherry. I’m going to be right here," he folded his arms and got comfortable even though he hated the chair he was sitting in. He wasn’t going to leave Aurora when the hands of Cherry just yet. "Carry on."

"I hope you have a good amount of strength to deal with a man like that. Vincent always has this attitude that makes you admire or want to slap him. When you feel the need to slap him, call me to do it. I have good experience keeping him in check. Our parents were close so we grew up like family. We’re friends and nothing more just in case you were wondering. Don’t want you thinking I’m going to try and steal your man."

"I’m not concerned about it because Vincent and I are not involved romantically."

"What?" Cherry exclaimed in disbelief. She looked to Vincent but he wasn’t phased by what Aurora said. So what was with all the tours, the staying at his house, and buying her stuff if there was no romance? "Stop joking with me Aurora." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"I’m not. I don’t remember anything about Vincent therefore I can not be romantically involved."

"What the hell? Wait a minute. Allow me to process all of this. From what I’m seeing, he’s looking at you like he’s ready to marry you and you’re telling me you’re not with him like that?" Cherry questioned and watched Aurora slowly nod. "You poor lovesick pup. I always told you, your love life would suck," she pitied Vincent who glared at her. "Down boy. I have faith that in no time the two of you will be together because I like you, Aurora."

If there was one thing Cherry loved more than dresses was playing cupid for two people she thought should be together.

"I don’t need help from you and your non-existent love life," Vincent took a playful jab at Cherry.
