Chapter 251: New look (1)

"Aurora, it is time for you to get up and pack for our trip. I’m surprised you did not wake up before I did but then again, you got to the alcohol last night. It is a wonderful memory to never let you drink."

"Vincent," Aurora groaned, stretching her body as her eyes opened. "When did we come home after the bonfire?"

"As I said, you got to the alcohol. Had a drinking contest between you and Cherry when we returned from the run. Sit up and drink this. It will help you get over the hangover," Vincent sat next to Aurora on the bed.

"Maybe I am still dreaming but why is this drink so brown? Are you secretly trying to kill me because that’s what it feels like," Aurora almost hurled when she smelled the concoction Vincent gave her. "This is death in a cup."

"Make sure to drink every last drop if you want to recover quickly. I brought juice to clear up the foul aftertaste," Vincent picked up the cup of juice from the tray of food he brought in while she was still asleep.

"Your alcohol is much stronger than the ones we used to steal from humans," Aurora said, then drank the poison in one go. She handed the empty cup to Vincent while taking the cup of juice in the other hand. "I will need more juice than this to get rid of the taste." free𝑤ebnovel.com

"Human alcohol does not have much of an effect on werewolves therefore we make our own much stronger. I’ve sent countless bottles of alcohol to Artemis. Why didn’t you drink some of that?"

"One of the few things Artemis loves is alcohol. She loves to drink it and lay by the lay. I guess she needed alcohol for a Goddess since it never got her drunk. I think she loved to pretend it did. We could never steal something Artemis loved. She would kill us. Can I have more juice," Aurora cringed each time she swallowed her spit as the horrible taste still lingered in her mouth.

"I will get some more from the kitchen. You should use the bathroom and change by then. We already have guests waiting downstairs for you-"

"The witches are here already?" Aurora exclaimed. "What time is it? How long have I been asleep? How on earth did I forget what we were supposed to be doing today?" She jumped out of bed, completely ignoring the foul taste in her mouth.

"That seemed to work better in sobering you up," Vincent muttered, looking at the empty cup wondering if he still needed to get her juice.

"We have a lot of things to pack for this trip!" Aurora yelled as she ran to their bathroom.

"I have done all of that for you. Victor came by early this morning with the clothes you wanted from Cherry. I packed them into bags along with money and food for the trip. There is a house in the human town owned by a werewolf who left the pack to be with a human. We will stay with him," said Vincent.

Aurora peeked her head out the bathroom door, surprised to hear there was a werewolf from Vincent’s pack living among humans. How did he blend in so well? What did he do when the moon was full? Does he come back regularly to see the loved ones he left behind here?

"There are many others like him living in town. Not everyone here hates humans, we just don’t trust them. Many have been betrayed by their human mates when the war between humans and all creatures escalated. They fear being betrayed again and that is why they avoid the children Derek brought with him. They don’t want their children tied to either child."

Vincent continued to say, "I have never come across a human I could trust wouldn’t betray me. Humans have a tendency to want to destroy anything they view as stronger than them. Look at what happened between them and the Gods. They hunted beings sent to protect them because their kings were jealous their people worshiped the Gods more than them."

Vincent would never change his stance on keeping what was not a werewolf out of their community. Perhaps, he would be singing a different tune if Aurora was a regular human.

"I have a question," he heard Aurora say from the inside of the bathroom. "What would you do if a lot of werewolves start giving into mating with humans once again but they don’t want to leave the community and they want their human mates to live here."

"The only solution would be that humans could never leave. They would have to leave behind the life they once knew. There are other packs that live by this rule. There are no more than ten humans living in those packs. Not everyone could see a werewolf and not fear it, then fall in love with it and give up their freedom to travel around the kingdom," Vincent replied.

There were a lot of places with wolfsbane planted to alert humans of when werewolves were around so they could be hunted. That was why werewolves really went too far from their packs. There was also the possibility of running into vampires and other enemies.

"I cannot wait to see the werewolf living in town. It could’ve been another werewolf that I mistook for you in town. Maybe they could sense my connection to the moon Goddess," Aurora said, remembering the person she bumped into while she was going to the dressmaker with the Hamiltons.

"Hmm," Vincent also thought about it. He was certain the person might’ve been another vampire rather than a werewolf. As long as they did not run into this person, there was no need to worry about what they were.

"Vincent, can you stop listening to what is happening in the bathroom now?" Aurora didn’t like feeling cautious since Vincent’s hearing was out of this world. What if she fell and he heard it? Or if she were to make an embarrassing noise?

"I will be waiting for you downstairs," Vincent sighed, getting up from the bed to leave her alone.

"Thank you," he heard her softly reply. He never once thought he would need to consider getting a witch spell for his bathroom.

Vincent opened the bedroom door, immediately annoyed when he found the three witches standing outside the door. "I said to wait downstairs but you three somehow found your way onto the second floor. What good manners you have."

"We are too excited to wait any longer for Aurora to come out. Let’s put the glamor to a test," Morgan quickly pulled out a strand of hair from Vincent’s head, flinching when he growled at her. "Y-You have to be nice to us if you want to look different."

Morgan passed the strand of hair to Minerva who tied it around a necklace with a gem. "Put this on," she held out the necklace to Vincent.

"You could have asked me for the strand of hair," he growled, carefully taking the necklace from the witch to put it on. If he became anything weird from this, he would kill them some way, somehow.

The trio gulped, nervously waiting to see what would happen when the spell started to work.

"Nothing happened," Agatha sighed.

"You idiot," Minerva smacked the back of Agatha’s head. "Nothing will look different to us but to Aurora, it will. Let’s see if Aurora can see the change."
