Chapter 247: Witch (2)

"Well, this is new."

"What the hell?" Regina asked in confusion as she looked down to find herself sitting on top of Timothy as he laid in bed.

His home was the place she thought of teleporting to but she didn’t think she would teleport this close to Timothy.

"Oh no," it dawned on Regina that Timothy would now know she was not human. How else could she explain magically appearing on his body like this? She knew she had to get away now or she would be burned.

"Wait wait," Timothy sat up, trying to grab Regina’s hand to stop her from running. He saw the fear in her eyes build up as she realized her mistake. Rather than have her run off, Timothy wanted to have a conversation about this.

Regina ignored his words, dashing off the bed to look for a place to hide. She only needed a moment to repeat the spell to teleport somewhere else.

’Stupid, stupid, stupid. Why couldn’t I have appeared at his gates?’ She scolded herself.

"Why won’t this budge?" Regina got frustrated as she failed to turn the doorknob to open Timothy’s door.

"It’s a special door I got after an intruder entered my home and tried to kill me. You open it like this," Timothy placed his hands over Regina’s to show her how to turn the knob. "There you go. Are you going to continue running or will you talk to me?"

"Why aren’t you freaking out about me suddenly appearing in your bed?" Regina was curious to know why he wasn’t startled as an average person would be.

"Well, I have wished for it to happen many times and thought my wish was finally answered. Woo-" Timothy dodged a punch Regina tried to give him to the face.

"Why aren’t you dragging me out of the room to have me locked up? You are to report anyone not human to the castle. Do you plan to blackmail me? Ask my family for money. I hate to break it to you but you won’t get a dime from my family. Whatever you are going to do-"

Timothy used two fingers to hold Regina’s lips together to stop her from speaking. "Can you please stop rambling and give me the chance to speak? I don’t have any plans to lock up my future wife. I would have been planning all these surprises for nothing."

"You aren’t going to say anything about what you witnessed?" Regina asked when he released her lips. She didn’t believe he would do such a thing just because he wanted to marry her.

Anyone who withheld this type of information from the palace could be killed.

"No. I always figured there was something strange about you. Never would I have imagined you are a witch," he said after noticing her dark-colored nails.

"How did you know I am a witch?"

"I have the knowledge from the palace to identify all kinds of creatures. You shouldn’t tamper with black magic so much Regina. The signs you did will show up all over your body," Timothy pointed at her nails for her to see the change.

Regina’s eyes almost popped out of her head when she finally noticed her nails. "How is that possible? Weren’t those spells normal?" freeweɓnøvel.com

Regina didn’t understand where she was going wrong. It wasn’t like she had been trying to bring anyone back from the dead or used spells to kill anyone. Why was teleporting the one spell to have an effect on her body unless this was the final straw on her body from the spells she had been using?

"I can get books from the palace to help you understand what is wrong. Unfortunately, I don’t know of any witches to help you and since you have run away here, your family cannot help you. I am glad to know you came to me in danger. Now tell me, why are you here?"

"Hold on, Timothy." Before Regina could explain anything about why she was here, she needed a better explanation for why he was casually brushing off the fact she was a witch. Love could not have him this way.

"Why are you not reacting to me being a witch like every other person would? Do not speak of me being your future wife as the reason again because I do not believe that crap. Tell me the truth first and then I shall tell you why I am here. Go on," Regina motioned for him to start talking.

"It is known that I have traveled across the kingdom to expand my knowledge on many kinds of business. In those days, I stumbled upon many different kinds of people. Normal or those like you. Unless they have harmed the innocent, I did not care about what they were," Timothy honestly replied.

He continued to say, "There are countless others like your family hiding in plain sight. That is what drove the king crazy as he could not always find those people. He lacked trust and forbade many people from entering the palace. I do not wish to share his same fate therefore, I ignore what does not bother me."

"I see," Regina was still wary of him but she understood his reasoning. She heard rumors of the king losing his mind which were believable as the previous king was said to have been the same way. "I can understand more of why you do not wish to be king."

"This kingdom has worried about creatures for too long. I am a man who enjoys doing as I please rather than hunting down witches, werewolves, and Gods."

"My grandmother found out I have been speaking to a soul and whenever they search my room they might find I have been practicing spells. Tonight, my grandmother declared me a stranger and tried to throw me into a cell. That is why I came here. I knew the only person with the power to protect me was you but I didn’t expect to teleport here."

"You mean, on top of me? It was a pleasant surprise for me right before I tried to sleep. What are you looking to do now that you have run away? Your family will be looking high and low for you. They will be worried about you exposing what they are." It was a common case Timothy stumbled upon.

Creatures would have to hide their rebellious family members from exposing their true identities. Some measures were to kill the ones not behaving in order to save the others. Timothy was not going to allow this to happen to Regina.

"They have bigger things to worry about than just me exposing what they are. I need to take a seat to gather my thoughts. I was scared out of my mind earlier," Regina placed her hand on her chest, taking a deep breath.

She had two back-to-back scary situations.

"Reside here in my bedroom for the night. I will stay in the guest room. We have a lot to talk about in the morning," Timothy started to leave the bedroom, not waiting for Regina to object to taking his bedroom.

Regina had a strange feeling in her chest out of nowhere as she watched Timothy leave her alone. She thought it was still the fear still lingering around.
