Chapter 239: Wish granted (1)

"Give me the list. I’ll help you accomplish all of it quickly. I can put Victor in charge while we travel around to do anything you want. Skies the limit. That could be our honeymoon plan," Vincent proposed.

With the king dead, the outside world would be much safer. All they would need to do was look out for the human hunters still tracking creatures like them.

"That sounds like a good plan to me. I’ve always wanted to travel around the kingdom. See what else is out there but I don’t think Victor might be too happy to hear you wish to leave him in charge," Aurora said, imagining the look of horror on Victor’s face.

"As much as he complains, he wouldn’t mind doing it as a favor for us. Are you hungry?" Vincent asked as the scent of different foods began to flood his nostrils to the point it was overbearing.

"I am but I have no idea what I should try first."

"You can have one of everything and we’ll take a seat to eat. The young ones will soon be putting on their show to transform into a werewolf. Point out whatever you want," Vincent had no limit in funds so whatever she wanted would be given to her by the end of the night.

"How can I resist free food? Is that rabbit?" She pulled him towards the stall with the shorter line of people. "Stewed or roasted. We’ll have both," Aurora held up two fingers to the stall owner. Her mouth began to water just from the sight of the meat.

"These were caught and killed today by my son. It was his first hunt and I could not be happier to have the alpha try it. This one is on the house," said the stall owner. He looked around for his son to let him meet Vincent to see that the rabbit he caught would be eaten by the alpha. freēwebnovel.com

"Congratulations. Did he catch all of them?" Vincent was impressed by the number of small animals the man had skinned and prepared to serve. Seeing the stall keeper genuinely happy to share news about his son’s hunt was what Vincent liked seeing.

"Some of them were caught by my older son who joined him on the hunt. He has more experience therefore he caught a variety of animals and not just rabbits. I was a little worried about my youngest going outside the gates but he proved I was worrying all for nothing. Now he wants to go out the gates even more."

"He can when the outer walls start going up for expansion. There will alot of guards out to protect him as long as he stays within the marked areas. These gates will be getting built starting tomorrow," Vincent stated.

He had been planning the expansion of the community for nearly a year and now it was finally going to start tomorrow. There would be more room for the growing population and plenty of space for everyone to run around.

"Tomorrow?" Aurora did not know it would be starting so soon. "Is that going to mess with our plan? Do you need to be here?"

She did not want to take him away from his work. She could leave by herself just like she recently did to find Percy. Had she known about the new walls being started tomorrow, she wouldn’t have asked him to join her.

"Stop overthinking," Vincent flicked her head. He could sense her thinking she was pulling him away from his duty. "There is someone else in charge of the walls. I have done my part in creating the layout with him. Reports will just be sent to me. You are stuck with me tomorrow."

"You’re not lying right?" She asked knowing he would push what he had to do aside to help her.

"When have I ever lied to you?" Vincent grinned.

"More than how many fingers I have. If you get in trouble for not being where you are supposed to be, do not blame me."

"Who can I get in trouble with, Aurora? I am the leader, the alpha. Who can tell me what to do? I truly do not need to be here tomorrow and Victor can handle whatever I leave him to do. He’s my brother therefore at some point he had to share my responsibility," said Vincent.

Victor was so carefree for many years. Vincent was considering giving him a position where he had to be more involved in decision-making for the community. As their father’s sons, they both had to work on creating the perfect community their father always wanted.

"If you say so. Thank you," Aurora took the food. She couldn’t wait to sit and give it a taste. "I have a good idea. Why don’t I sit while you bring me food and drinks?"

"You want me to be your servant Aurora? Do you think there should be some kind of reward for a man like me doing this-"

"A man like you? Is it a bad look for the alpha to bring food for his woman? Aren’t there other men doing it too? You won’t be able to gain yourself a kiss outside of this Vincent," Aurora smiled as she killed his attempt to ask for a kiss.

Looking behind Vincent, she noticed there were countless watching them or more specifically, her. Aurora knew they were all listening to her conversation with Vincent.

"Ignore the stares," Vincent took the food from her hands. "It’s going to be like this until they understand you and start approaching you. I’ll take you somewhere to sit."

"Vincent, are you not worried about the future? What if the child you have with me does not become a werewolf or worse, the next alpha. I have no idea what type of child would come from me since I was created by Artemis. I can’t even explain what I am."

"I see our child not becoming the next alpha as a good thing. One, it would be I died for them to be chosen and two, it’s a lot of work. I wouldn’t want my child to have to bear the weight of everyone’s lives depending on their decisions. Let Victor’s child have to do it." Vincent did not even want the responsibility but he was stuck with it.
