Chapter 238: Bonfire (4)
’He’s such a flirt,’ Aurora thought but she couldn’t help getting excited for the end of the night.
There was a fluttering feeling inside her chest after Vincent’s words. How lucky was she to end up with such a man? No wonder the women around were practically shooting daggers from their eyes. She would also be jealous if she were in their shoes.
"Why are you smiling so much, Aurora? Are you finally realizing what a wonderful man you have?" Vincent asked, pulling her close to her from the cold night air.
"I have always known you are wonderful Vincent. There is no one else to claim my heart like you. Except for that one boy from when I was living with the Hamiltons. Regina used to tease me about him all the time," she decided to tease him. It wasn’t fair she was the only one getting teased and besides, jealous Vincent was always fun to be around.
"That’s not going to work on me, Aurora. I am not jealous," he grinned as he saw through what she was trying to do.
Aurora forgot he kept tabs on her when she was living with humans therefore he would know if there were pests around her.
Aurora pouted, annoyed he couldn’t be the slightest bit jealous. "You’re so annoying," she tried to push him away but Vincent kept her against him. "You have all the young women staring at your chests. They’re falling in love with you all over again. I can’t be helped if the vines or trees act crazy tonight if someone gets too close to you."
"You cannot kill anyone tonight Aurora."
"Who said anything about killing someone? A nice little smack would be enough to ward them away. My abilities are back to normal as yet so I truly can’t control if something happens," said Aurora.
"It sounds like you are stealing my story. No one will be approaching me to win my love. My marking is on your chest." Vincent noticed the crescent moon symbol the moment they left his home. His own marking had to be somewhere on his body.
Once others see the connection they would know it was pointless to try to gain his attention. However, there would be those annoying groups of people still believing that werewolves should only mate with other werewolves.
"It is ?" Aurora looked down to see where it was but it was out of sight to her. "Is it somewhere revealing or were you just being a pervert and looking down at my dress?"
"It is right above your breast where you wouldn’t be able to see it yourself but it is evident to others."
"Let me check your body," she stepped out of his hold to inspect his body.
Aurora checked his chest as she thought it would appear in the same place but there was nothing there or anywhere on his opposed chest. She then checked his back but it wasn’t there nor on his arms.
The only possible place it could be was on his legs hidden away by his pants.
"How on earth is that fair? Why can’t it just stay in one place instead of moving all over the body?" Aurora didn’t like how her mark was clear for everyone to see but Vincent’s was hidden. His mark should be visible to let everyone know he has found a mate.
"The only family with a crescent moon marking is mine and Cherry will let everyone know her mark is with Victor. If anyone has the common sense they would know your mark with me unless you are seeing one of my family members behind my back."
"As if. Your family just seems too chaotic for me to be able to deal with two of you. Count yourself lucky," she patted his chest. "It looks just like the harvest moon festival," Aurora said when they finally made it to the bonfire. freewebnoveℓ.com
There was a large flame surrounded by rocks, while logs were placed for everyone to have a seat. There are stalls placed with all sorts of items selling from food to toys.
"Watch out!" Someone yelled behind Aurora and Vincent.
"What? Ah!" Aurora screamed when a big brown wolf ran pass her followed by two more. She didn’t expect one to be so close to her. "I know they’re having fun but that scared the hell out of me. Good thing someone gave us a heads up or I would have passed out."
"Some of them aren’t in full control so you will need to keep your eyes out for those ones. Not everyone here can still shift into a wolf so they won’t be that many running around. Some will just have their claws out," Vincent revealed his claws to her.
"Please keep those over there before you injure someone. Specifically me," she gently moved his hand away. "This place is starting to look like it is inhabited by werewolves. It doesn’t look like anyone was complaining about it either." Everywhere Aurora looked there were smiles on people’s faces and children running around laughing.
"That is because they didn’t realize how fun it is to be free like this. We are wild animals on the inside and living completely like humans do not suit us. The list of people signing up to go on a run is beyond what I expected. It won’t happen in a day but this place will change for the better."
"I hope Artemis can return to have some fun with everyone. She used to tell me stories about being around werewolves and now I am here to witness it myself. I can take this off the list of things I wanted to do," Aurora said.
"You never told me about a list," Vincent would have helped do everything on the list had he known about it.
"I was in a forest for a long time with no idea what the outside world was like. Of course, I would have many things I wanted to do when I left the forest. In a weird way, I did most of those things when I lived with the Hamiltons and some here with you. The first thing I checked off was experiencing the emotion of love."
