Chapter 237: Bonfire (3)
"Never. I wish to keep you alive by my side. If it were possible I would have us stay here while the house is empty. When will we get another chance like this," Vincent kissed Aurora’s jaw, then started to move down to the neck.
"Vincent, no. Once you start this we won’t get anywhere. You were the one to plan for everyone to attend a bonfire. It wouldn’t look right if you weren’t there on time. And no, nothing is happening tonight. We have to wake up early in the morning to leave after the witches return," Aurora pushed him back gently.
"Once wasn’t enough," Vincent replied, referring to the one time they made love since she was back to normal. freewёbnoνel.com
"It wasn’t once but several times in one night. You’ve lasted long without me being by your side. A couple more nights shouldn’t be too hard. Truthfully, we shouldn’t make love until we get married. That’s the proper thing to do."
"I was waiting for the words proper and improper to make a grand entry again," Vincent rolled his eyes.
"I can’t help it. I have clear memories of a tutor telling me what is right and wrong. You are like the exact definition of what they tell young girls to avoid. You’re too tempting," Aurora took a step back enjoying the sight of Vincent. "You should put your shirt on."
"The men can attend the bonfire with their shirts off-"
"Absolutely not!" Aurora exclaimed.
Vincent grinned, having something to tease her about. "Don’t worry, my body belongs to you. You get to see so much more at the end of the day."
"I am leaving," Aurora turned on heels to follow after the others.
"Aren’t you going to wait for your escort Aurora? That is not the right thing to do," Vincent followed after her leaving his shirt where he threw it. He knew the night would be interesting without it.
"Are you going to shift into your wolf tonight?" Aurora didn’t see the point of him not wearing a shirt. If he wasn’t going to shift, Vincent would just be entertainment for the women tonight.
"Most likely the people here would want to see that side of me. Why? Would you be scared if you see it?"
"The only time I was ever scared of that other side of you was in the forest with the red leaves. I had no idea who or what you were and let’s be honest, you did not need to be so creepy. I still can’t understand if you were trying to kill me or help me," Aurora looked at him in confusion.
"I was hoping the fear would wake you up and it did help speed up the process. Here," Vincent held her hand now that they were surrounded by others going to where the bonfire was.
Even with him by her side, there would always be that one fool to overstep their boundaries.
"Vincent, what happened to those people who kidnapped me and Cherry?" Aurora only remembered them now that she was among others. The last time she left home to have fun, she had been taken along with Cherry.
"Dead," Vincent bluntly answered. He killed the men the day after it all happened. He didn’t feel the need to bring it up to Aurora. She shouldn’t be so concerned about insignificant people.
"Are you going to kill everyone who does something to me?" She wondered. He was capable of snapping at anyone who tried to hurt her but what if it was a large portion of the community?
"No. The prison has a lot of space," Vincent seriously replied. "I have made it clear that line of work should never happen in our community. To kidnap, kill, or sell off one of your own kind comes with a penalty here. I tortured them before they were killed and traced back their boss to Cecilia."
"I would have expected Graham to be the one to hire them. Do you think your uncle is still alive?" Aurora didn’t know much about vampires to know if they would kill Graham right away, torture him, or imprison him.
"I am not sure. It depends on whatever mood the vampire king is in. My uncle deserves this. He should be thankful I allowed him to live this long. Part of me being unable to control my wolf side was due to my need to kill my uncle. Guilt and anger were not a good combination."
Aurora knew werewolves needed to control their emotions to avoid shifting and going wild. If Vincent had a strong desire to kill someone but did not, his wolf side would feed off of that emotion and try to come out without Vincent commanding it to. That was why she created the cigars for him to sedate that side.
"This means you should be smoking a lot less. It was never good for you since it is wolfsbane. It could somehow have different effects and kill you one day. I only gave it to you as a last resort," Aurora said out of concern.
There was no cure for being poisoned with wolfsbane and although Vincent had some strange immunity, she was worried it might get to him one day. "How about a deal? If you ever feel like you are about to lose control, come to me instead of smoking. I will do whatever I can to make you calm down." freeweɓnovel.cøm
"Before what kind of deals you make with the big bad wolf, Aurora. Who knows what kind of ways I might ask you to help calm me down," Vincent grinned.
Aurora sighed, already knowing where was going. "From the moment I have returned to normal, you have been nothing but horny Vincent."
"Something also woke up inside of me. How can I not want to touch you every second after being away from you so long? We have so much to make up for and I am burning to have more of you but I will be satisfied with this until the night is over," he showed their entwined hands. "Be prepared for after the bonfire, Aurora."
