Chapter 233: Warmth (2)

As soon as Timothy shot down the recommendation, Regina felt a breath of relief and immediately switched up on what she had offered him.

Even though she was not in love with him but felt guilty, having a mistress around was something she never wanted when she used to think about getting married.

Mistresses weren’t uncommon for a man with status like Timothy. If he were ever to bring a woman around, others might tell Regina to just sit quietly and let him do as he wanted. Little did they know, she could use a spell to get rid of the woman.

"That was quick," Timothy laid on his side to look at Regina. "You spoke so boldly about it but then acted all cute when I shut it down. Do it again."

"Go away," Regina pushed his face back with the palm of her hand and turned the other side. "You have gone back to teasing me."

"Because it’s so much fun," Timothy admitted.

"You really are-"

"Timothy," said a voice right above where the two laid.

Regina rolled her eyes upon hearing the insufferable voice. "Just great."

"Hamilton," Gretchen McAdams acknowledged the woman beside Timothy. "Timothy, I don’t remember the last time I have seen you laying around like this."

"You have never actually," Timothy replied a bit irritated the moment he created with Regina was ending. He finally felt like they were going somewhere but Gretchen just had to arrive.

"Right. It is quite improper for anyone to lay around like this. Some people weren’t taught basic etiquette," she glanced at Regina.

"I can feel your eyes piercing me, Gretchen. Run along and find someone else to bother. I am certain Karen is somewhere trying to get up your ass. Unless she isn’t somewhere screwing her help. You might want to save an etiquette lesson for your friend," Regina looked up to Gretchen with an innocent smile.

Gretchen huffed, finding Regina’s comment to be extremely tacky but she had told Karen many times not to flirt around with too many people. This was why she honestly hated Regina Hamilton. The girl literally did nothing but was referred to as queen bee amongst their peers.

Gretchen tried hard to be her friend once until Regina insulted her.

Timothy remained quiet, allowing the two young women to battle their feelings. While Regina was distracted by Gretchen, he played with the strands of her hair piled over to his side.

"Karen is not here to defend herself therefore you should not bring her up. You know better than that Regina," Gretchen replied.

"You are her friend and you are here to defend her. Honestly, don’t. I was having a surprisingly pleasant time before you arrived. As you can see but you might be delusional, Timothy is no longer on the market," said Regina.

Regina would rather go back home and deal with her family but have to converse with Gretchen.

"No one is off the market until they are engaged. Even then there is plenty of time for someone to realize their mistake," Gretchen smiled down at Timothy. She frowned upon seeing him lovingly stare at Regina’s back while he played with her hair.

As far as Gretchen was concerned, Timothy and Regina were enemies so naturally, she did not believe the rumors about them being together. However, the way he was looking at Regina right now was starting to make the rumors true.

Still, Gretchen was not going to give up on Timothy so easily. The next king was right in front of her and she would do anything to make sure she would be the next queen. The thought of Regina having to one day bow to her filled Gretchen up with excitement.

Regina was expecting Timothy to confirm he was off the market but the man laid quietly playing with her hair. Although it felt nice since he did not want to confirm it, she had no reason to lay here.

Regina was not going to sit by and get rid of Gretchen when Timothy could do it easily. "I’m getting out of here. The moment is ruined," she sat up.

Gretchen beamed, happy that Regina had realized she was no match for Timothy and knew to leave. Now it was her chance to snatch him while Regina was leaving. "Timothy-"

"I am not interested in you, Gretchen. I have already set my eyes on my future wife. Are you ready to leave?" He asked Regina but now she wasn’t answering him.

Timothy knew it was due to him not letting Gretchen know he was taken; however, he had been enjoying the moment. This was the first time Regina was fighting against another woman for him.

It wasn’t exactly what he would have liked it to be but simple things like this warmed his heart even though it was embarrassing. He was acting like a teenager who finally got noticed by his crush.

"I’m sorry," he apologized for not backing her up right there. It was no point in continuing to let this blow up when he knew what the problem was and that he needed to apologize.

"Apology accepted but I still wish to leave. There are too many bothersome flies here and I don’t like the stench of heartbreak," Regina looked back at Gretchen. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

It was satisfying to see Gretchen be shot down but this was becoming awkward. First of all, why wasn’t Gretchen leaving and just standing there after what Timothy said? Did she think she heard wrong?

Timothy got to his feet first and dusted the grass off his clothes. Then, he extended his hand out to Regina to help her to her feet since he was a gentleman.

"Thank you," Regina said after he pulled her up. "Hey!" She exclaimed when he patted her on her thigh. He was getting a little bold today. First her hair without her permission and now this.

"I was getting rid of the grass there," he held his hands up innocently.

"I can do it myself. Touch me again and you’ll be seeing stars," Regina threatened him with her balled-up fists going dangerously close to his fists.

"Please get rid of that weapon," Timothy had flashes of when Reginaused to punch him dead in the face.

’What on earth is happening here?’ Gretchen said to herself in disbelief.
