Chapter 200: The visit (5)
"You didn’t need to be so blunt with it. I already know that I am a coward. I plan to make things serious but I want to know the best way to approach asking her. I need to do something special and as crazy as it is, you have the most experience when it comes to charming women. I honestly don’t know what they see in you," said Victor.
"Are you here to get my advice or to insult me because it feels like the latter. The secret to having an easy life is to just say what you feel. I would bet all my wealth that Cherry wouldn’t care about you making a grand proposal to be together. Just walk up to her and say how you feel and everything will work out. It’s about time you came to me for some help," Vincent placed Victor in a headlock and messed up his hair.
"It was starting to get sad looking at you being shy around Cherry. It probably annoys the hell out of her considering you had plenty of girlfriends before but you were never shy with them. Honestly, if I were Cherry I wouldn’t date you when you can’t man up and say-"
"Okay," Victor covered Vincent’s mouth to keep from telling his business. "You’re supposed to be on my side and hope I get the girl. I rooted for you and Aurora the entire time the two of you were flirting with each other and this is how you plan to repay me.
Vincent continued to walk with Victor in a headlock. "I was rooting for both of you but after a few years, it got annoying. Now, leave me alone and go about your way to try and confess your undying love before I start planning my wedding. I need to know if I have to set Cherry up with a date."
"Hey!" Victor exclaimed, shoving Vincent for mentioning he was going to set up Cherry with someone else.
"Well, time is ticking Victor. Tik Tok, tik tok," Vincent sang to tease Victor but to also motivate him.
"You really are a brute," Victor muttered before leaving Vincent’s side to look for Cherry. Vincent was right that he should just state how he felt even if he makes a complete fool in front of Cherry. It was crazy how they were bold enough to sleep with one another but hard to say what they felt toward each other.
Maybe the idea that the other person might not want more than just sex stopped them from confessing their feelings all these years.
"We really are cowards," Victor admitted.
Vincent smiled hearing Victor admit to being a coward. He continued the walk back to his house silently hoping there was no one he was going to run into again to disturb his peace when he had a lot on his mind.
Thankfully, there was no one else who wanted to speak with him on his way back to his home. When Vincent got home, he only had one thing on his mind which was the spying spell Aurora told him about. He wanted to put it to use right away to see what his uncle was up to.
He sensed Aurora was not home and Mari’s presence was nowhere to be found. Using this opportunity when there were fewer people in the home, Vincent headed to the library to put the spell to use. He didn’t want it in his bedroom considering Aurora would most likely be sleeping there from now on.
Not many people were allowed in the library because of the information kept there. Going down the stairs leading to where all the books were, Vincent went to a chest on a desk he kept there for an emergency.
Vincent opened the chest to find that the things he left were still there. What he came for was a stick given to him by the witches the last time he hired them. He never thought he would be calling the witches back to his home but here he was doing so.
"Morgan, Minerva, Agatha," he called the names of the three witches then broke the stick they had given him. freewёbnoνel.com
Suddenly, green smoke formed in the room, and the silhouette of three people appeared in the middle.
"What can we do for-Vincent?" Minerva placed her hand over her mouth when she saw their customer was none other than the werewolf alpha. "What can we do for you, Vincent?" freewebnovel.cσ๓
"I thought you weren’t going to hire us again after the incident. Did we kill the girl?" Morgan got chills trying to think back to the spell they did for the lady Vincent had in his home. "I wasn’t the one to place the spells."
Agatha and Minerva smacked Morgan at the back of the head since she was easily going to betray them.
"She’s not dead," Vincent said, already feeling like he regretted calling them to perform the spell. It was unfortunate he didn’t have a way to hire another witch so easily.
"Then, did she turn into a frog?" Agatha rubbed her hands together curious to know if she would have another frog for her spells.
"If either of those things were to happen I would’ve killed you the moment you showed up," said Vincent.
"True," the trio agreed.
"Then what is it you need us for? Do you need us to work for you?" Asked Minerva. She wanted to get back into the good graces of Vincent since he was considered a VIP customer. He had the money to buy all types of expensive spells and he had the power to get them anything they requested.
"Do you know of a spying spell?"
"Of course we do. What witch wouldn’t know it? Do you have frogs to pay us with?" Agatha held out her hand for the payment first. She ran out of the frog’s Aurora gave to her already. "Around ten of them would be more than enough."
"The payment won’t be an issue but you will get it after I see that the spell is working well and no one gets turned into an animal. I will search for twenty frogs if you do it correctly and gold will be included," he offered the trio.
Minerva, Agatha, and Morgan all looked at each other and then nodded their heads. "Deal," they agreed.
"I don’t want the other person to be able to see that I am spying on them if they look into a mirror. Can you do that?" He went into his pocket to get the things he stole from his uncle.
"Of course," Minerva took the items from him. "We are very skilled when it comes to spells. Well, two of us are," she side-eyed Morgan. Morgan was getting better but she wasn’t on the level of Minerva and Agatha as yet.
"You are not to speak a word of this to anyone or I will burn you," Vincent said then sat down in a chair while they did whatever they needed to do. It was risky to let them leave after doing this since witches had no loyalty to anyone. They could easily inform his uncle of this.
"We never reveal what our customer wants to an outsider. Unless you double-cross us but that won’t be an issue with you. Morgan, hand me the chalk," Minerva ordered her sister.
Minerva and Agatha were the ones to do the spell while Morgan was their helper. The last thing they needed was for Morgan to mess up the spell when Vincent had placed so much faith in them again to call them here.
Minerva drew the triangle and the eye on the wall while Agatha took out items from her hat.
"Isn’t it supposed to be on a mirror? That is what I was told." Aurora told him the spell needed a mirror but they were using a wall.
"You said you did not want the other person to see you. A mirror is what allows the two people to see that they are being spied on. A wall can be used to make it a one-way vision. The person won’t be able to see you but be warned that our sisters can detect when this spell is being used. Another witch can expose you spying," said Minerva.
"It wouldn’t be hard for one of our sisters to track where you are spying from. The person you wish to spy on must not be a witch or be anywhere near witches. We are not responsible if this spell backfires on you," Morgan stated one of their clauses.
They had a long list of things they were not responsible for when it came to spells and potions.
"It is not a witch I wish to spy on and I don’t plan to hold any of you responsible," Vincent replied.
"Good. It’s ready Agatha. Place the items," Minerva stepped back for Agatha to do her part.
The three rings stuck to the wall and now all that was left was for them to chant the spell.
Vincent found it interesting that with just three rings his uncle claimed ownership of, he would be able to spy on the man.
