Chapter 180: No one else (2)

"Who else would I be waiting on? There is no one else here to keep me company. I could not keep Mari from returning to her family. She promised a sleepover one of these nights so that I might not be so bored. Sweet girl. How did you find someone like her?" Aurora completely forgot about Chaos now that Vincent was here.

"I’m sorry. There was-"

"You don’t have to explain to me," she shushed him. She was grown enough to know he would be busy as he was the alpha and there was a need for him to work. She just needed to find something to occupy her time with and planning revenge on the Hamiltons was the perfect thing.

"What is on your mind?" Vincent cast his jacket to the side so that it landed on a chair. He was certain he heard a man’s voice mixed with Aurora’s when he was on the outside getting out of his horse. It was a familiar voice but it did not sound like any of his workers.

He decided to give her the chance to tell him about it before demanding to know. If it was trouble she found herself in, he would protect her from it.

"My mind? I am wondering what I will do to cure the boredom I am suffering from. I feel like I am a housewife and you know that does not suit me. Maybe I should run a flower shop," she suggested. One of her skills was making flowers grow and she knew how to take care of them.

"I have a business either selling flowers or decorating gardens for them. I can speak with the flowers and tell my customers about any shady things going on in their homes. Like a wife cheating or a husband losing money. I would either be the most hated or the most loved gardener," Aurora grinned at the thought. She’ll never be busy if she did that.

"Please don’t. That would only lead to me having to deal with all of the problems you found. You might lead an angry mob right to my home. If you want to find something to do really badly, I told you we could need your help with the new wall. Thorns and thick trees prevent others from easily getting inside."

"I don’t mind being of some help. Now that you are back it is time for me to get to bed. Goodnight Vincent," Aurora said, prepared to go back to her own room to have some rest but Vincent had other plans.

"Sleep with me tonight," he said before she could move an inch. "I don’t mean for us to do anything tonight other than for us to sleep. It’s fine if you don’t want to."

Aurora smiled at his request because after what they almost did the other day, you would think he would already know her answer and there was no need for him to explain anything. However, he was the gentleman he always said he was. "Okay," she replied, agreeing to sleep with him tonight.

"You have to change your clothes and freshen up maybe. Do you want me to wait down here until you are done or come up now?" Her voice got lower as she asked the question.

Vincent started to unbutton his shirt and said, "That is up to you."

He started going upstairs leaving her with the decision of whether or not she was going to come with him right now.

"I am having an internal battle," Aurora murmured. One side of her head was telling her it wasn’t proper to go up until he was done but the other side was screaming for her to go now and not miss the sight before her. "Screw this," she started following Vincent to his room.

What was the point of being shy at this point? She had a visual memory of Vincent’s body thanks to their times in the past. Still, her heart pounded louder with every step she took. ƒrēewebnovel.com

’Why does his room suddenly feel so far away?" She wondered. freёweɓnovel.com

When she reached his door it wasn’t closed all the way and it seemed to intentionally give her a view of Vincent stripping down to nothing before going into his bathroom. Aurora confidently would bet her wife that Vincent did that on purpose and he was grinning right now because he knew she was right there.

"He’s not a gentleman," she changed her mind.

Aurora pushed open the door just enough for her to go through then closed it behind her. There was a bit of nostalgia as she entered the room. It felt more comforting than the other times she had been in here. It was a bit sad how she missed simple things like this since she had been away for a while.

As she took a seat on Vincent’s bed she wondered how her life would be now had she not become friends with Esmeralda Hamilton. Would she have returned to live with Artemis all alone in the forest? Would she have traveled around the kingdom to see what else was out there? Would she have married Vincent by now?

There were endless possibilities of what could have happened in that time period. It was kind of depressing yet good at the same time she would never know what could have been. Knowing what she missed would only make her angrier than she already was and eventually lead to her being sad.

"I have to stop thinking about everything I missed and enjoy the time that I have now. Maybe I’ll get over it when I see Minnie dead in front of me," she told herself.

Aurora sighed, laying back on the bed feeling slightly frustrated. How was she supposed to focus on the man in the bathroom when other things kept filling her mind. She wasn’t feeling as good as she portrayed to Vincent. She wasn’t happy and at first, she thought the feeling was just boredom.

"How did I end up making myself so sad? Don’t tell me..." she trailed off thinking of the possibility that Chaos had effectively gotten to her. His tricks weren’t always able to do anything to her but what if she was really losing her touch? "I’m going to kill him if this feeling really has something to do with him."

"What feeling?" Vincent asked as he exited his bathroom with a piece of cloth hanging dangerously low around his waist. "Just remember that I have good hearing all around the house except for your bedroom. I will be kind enough to not ask about the other things but I will pretend that it is not me who you are going to kill for you gaining some sort of feeling?"

"If it is love and it is towards another man, I am afraid I will kill him for you."

"It has nothing to do with love. I just came to the conclusion that I am feeling a tiny bit depressed as I think about what my life could have been. You could have given up waiting for me and been married to someone else. Can you imagine how awkward that would have been? Me walking in on you with your family?" Aurora chuckled to hide what she was feeling.

Vincent didn’t have anything to say at first. If he didn’t love her as much as he did, he still wouldn’t have gotten married even with the elder pestering him to have a child. Still, even if he had fallen out of love with her, he had an obligation to help Aurora because the friendship they had before becoming lovers was not one to easily throw away.

"You once told me no one would be able to put up with my personality for too long as you do. You claimed it was a special skill you had. I wasn’t going to give up on anyone with this special skill?" He didn’t see there being a possibility he would fall out of love with her. She was one of a kind.

"Gee thanks."

"You brought out my cringe romantic side according to Victor. No one else would be able to make me act this way. If my mother saw me now she would rub it in my face for all the many times I said I wasn’t going to fall in love with anyone," Vincent chuckled remembering his stupid declaration he made one night at dinner.

A girl had given him a love note and while his mother found it to be cute, he found it to be annoying. He didn’t think real love would ever happen for him because he was the son of the alpha back then. Not too many people who approached him cared about the things he liked or his personality. They just wanted to be around the son of the alpha.

He learned to see right through their motives from a young age. Those who didn’t want to use him became his friends. He found love when he lost his way and ended up in a forest. A young girl with white hair scolded him for being where he didn’t belong.
