Alpha Zack ’s heart jumped. "Don’t be silly. What are you saying? I could give up anyone else, but never you!"

When she heard this, tears filled Selina’s eyes as she threw herself into his arms. "Really? I thought you wouldn’t forgive me, that you didn’t want me anymore."

Alpha Zack ’s heart ached for her. "What happened before is in the past. From now on, we’ll be good together. Don’t worry about the police either. Leo won’t say anything more."

"Okay."

Selina thought to herself that the car accident had been worth it since it had made Alpha Zack feel more guilty toward her.

Seeing her chance, she pressed, "Zack, when will we get married?"

He hesitated briefly, then answered without further doubt, "The end of next month. We’ll do it then, okay?"

Selina felt relieved. She smiled, pulling at the corner of her mouth. "Fine, Zack. Whatever you say."

Park Hotel Group was holding its first shareholders’ meeting of the second half of the year.

I stood at the head of the conference table, my hands clasped behind my back as I surveyed the room full of expectant faces. Taking a deep breath, I felt my father’s presence guiding me.

"Regarding CEO Jack’s failure to do his job and his complete inaction during the company’s PR crisis, I hereby announce his removal from the executive position."

Jack’s face turned red with anger. His jaw clenched so tight I could see the muscles twitching. Many smaller shareholders who had supported him all voted in favor of his removal, their raised hands like daggers to his ego, making his expression even worse!

He lost his cool right there. Standing up so abruptly his chair scraped loudly against the floor, "Elara, don’t push it too far! Do you realize I can take the veteran employees with me when I leave!"

I shrugged, completely unfazed. My voice remained steady, almost bored."Go ahead. But those old-timers who leave should take note—Park Hotel Group is not a charity. Once you’re gone, there won’t be a chance to come back."

Jack, realizing I was calling his bluff, stormed out of the meeting room with his face purple with rage. Within an hour, he had rallied several loyal allies to resign together.

Just like that, Park Hotel Group was thrown into chaos.

But I had been waiting for this day.

I felt a surge of satisfaction mixed with nervous energy. This was my moment.

For every important position, I had Tyler find candidates in advance. Even though it cost a lot in headhunting fees, I was determined to replace everyone with people I could trust.

That same day, I had Jack’s office cleared out and moved in by the afternoon.

All these personnel changes made employees worried. I could see it in their darting glances and hushed conversations by the water cooler.

But when HR announced the latest benefits policy, which was better than before and more fair, the good employees were willing to stay. The atmosphere shifted from anxiety to cautious optimism.

The company got rid of nepotism, with everything based on performance and ability.

This made the smart people want to remain.

A few hours later, Jack’s wife, Lillian, came to see me on her own.

After a brief greeting, she sighed. "You have your father’s style from back in the day. Too bad your mother didn’t see it."

"I’m guessing you’re also going to try to get me to resign, right?"

Even though we had worked together once, Lillian was still Jack’s wife.

As long as they remained married, having Lillian as the Deputy Financial Director was dangerous.

"Lillian..."

She cut me off, "I won’t put you in a tough spot, so I’m resigning myself. Could you give me appropriate severance pay?"

I couldn’t help but laugh. The sound filled the room, genuine and relieved. "Of course. I’ll call Tyler later, and you can work it out with him."

Lillian stood up and reached out her hand. Her grip was firm, her eyes bright with determination. "I’m going back to divorce him. Wish me luck!"

I shook her hand warmly. "Good luck with that!"

I meant it. She deserved better than Jack’s toxicity.

After she left, I pulled out my phone and dialed a number I’d been eager to call.

I already knew who I wanted for the new Deputy Financial Director. "Nancy, you can come to the office with all your documents tomorrow to start."
