Chapter 114: Chapter 114 Girl Power

Elara

After work, I decided to do some shopping. I still needed a few accessories for the upcoming wedding.

"Excuse me, could I see those earrings, please?" I asked, pointing to a delicate pair in the display case.

"Of course, ma’am," the sales associate replied politely.

The associate kept praising them. "Ma’am, these teardrop earrings would suit you perfectly. They’d work for any occasion. Would you like to buy a pair?"

"I think these would suit you better," came a familiar voice. Nancy pointed to another pair of earrings on the display tray.

"Nancy?" I was surprised. "What a coincidence seeing you here."

"I’m shopping for wedding accessories," Nancy explained with a warm smile.

I found the coincidence even more incredible. "So am I! Let me try the ones you suggested."

Sometimes a second opinion makes all the difference.

The pair Nancy recommended was more versatile and elegant.

I didn’t hesitate. "Thank you. I’ll take this pair."

I turned to Nancy. "Thanks for the help. Want to shop together? Whatever you’re looking for, I’ll tag along."

Nancy didn’t refuse.

Nancy picked out matching watches, and I couldn’t help feeling a little envious. "You’re so sweet to your fiance."

Nancy smiled warmly. "He’s even sweeter to me. It goes both ways."

As we left the store and headed toward the parking garage, I noticed Nancy’s expression change completely.

I studied Nancy’s suddenly pale face. "What’s wrong?"

Nancy gripped her purse tighter as she stared at a couple making out in the distance. She took a deep breath. "Elara, could you hold my shopping bags for a moment? I need to handle something."

I hesitated briefly before reaching out. "Sure."

Nancy gave a tight smile, then walked straight toward the couple. Her red dress made her impossible to miss.

I watched Nancy walking away, finally noticing the couple ahead. A terrible thought hit me.

Could that man be Nancy’s fiance?

Realizing what might happen, I hurried after Nancy. I was worried my friend might get hurt.

"Ben, won’t your fiancee get jealous that you came to see me today?" the woman was asking teasingly.

The man called Ben smiled. "Don’t worry about it. I told her I’m working late."

"But you two are getting married soon," the woman pouted, leaning against his shoulder.

Ben kissed her lips softly. "You’re the one I really care about." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

Nancy stood frozen for a moment, her face draining of all color. I could see her hands trembling slightly at her sides as the reality sank in. The man she was supposed to marry in just weeks was kissing another woman right in front of her.

Nancy’s heartbreak quickly turned to pure rage.

Her jaw clenched tight, and I watched her take a deep, shaky breath before stepping forward.

She let out a soft, bitter laugh. "Too bad for you that you have to marry me when you’re in love with someone else."

Both Ben and the woman spun around, their faces going pale with shock. The woman’s mouth fell open, and Ben’s eyes widened in pure panic.

The slap came fast and loud.

Nancy grabbed the woman’s hair lightly, then delivered a sharp slap across her face.

"You... you hit me?" she asked in a high voice.

Nancy’s lips curled into a cold smile, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Her eyes narrowed as she raised her hand for a second, harder slap. "Damn right I did. And I’m just getting started."

Seeing this, Ben immediately moved to protect the woman behind him.

His face was flushed with embarrassment and anger. "Nancy, you’ve got this wrong. We’re not like that."

"But you still can’t just go around hitting people."

Nancy let out a harsh laugh, her eyes never leaving his face.

Nancy stared coldly at his lying mouth before raising her hand a third time. She delivered an even harder slap to his shocked face.

The crack of her palm against his cheek was even louder this time. Ben stumbled backward, his hand flying to his face in disbelief.

Her handprint appeared immediately on his skin, along with a bloody scratch from her ring.

Nancy’s voice was steady now, each word delivered like ice chips. Her voice was ice cold. "Ben, did you really think you’d get away with this?"

"A man who cheats on his fiancée is scum. A woman who goes after another woman’s man is trash."

Nancy pulled her engagement ring off her finger and threw it hard at the man’s face. "You two cheaters can have each other."

"Ben, we’re over."

With that, she rubbed her slightly red palm and turned to leave.

I stood there with my mouth open, realizing I hadn’t needed to worry at all.

I gave Nancy a thumbs up. "Girl, that was incredible."

Nancy’s lips curved into a small smile. "I’ll take that as a compliment, boss."
