After dropping Hannah off, Elara watched as her friend waved briefly before heading inside.
Unknown to either of them, Alpha Zack stood on the second-floor balcony. His eyes narrowed as he watched everything at the front entrance.
That license plate belonged to Dominic’s car. He was sure of it.
Why would his niece be getting out of Dominic’s vehicle? The question burned in his mind. His wolf stirred with unease.
Hannah was in a good mood. She hummed softly as she prepared to return to her room. Then Alpha Zack’s cold voice stopped her.
"Hannah," Alpha Zack said. His face looked hard and angry. "Who just dropped you off?"
Hannah hadn’t expected Alpha Zack to see her arrival. She raised an eyebrow. "Uncle Zack, just a friend who gave me a ride home."
But Alpha Zack kept pushing. "Which friend?"
Hannah’s patience wore thin. "Uncle Zack, I don’t need your permission to have friends. Even my parents don’t control my social life like this."
The message was clear. Who was he to question her?
Once, Hannah had respected Alpha Zack deeply. But whenever she thought about how Alpha Zack had abandoned her best friend, all that respect disappeared.
These alpha males were all the same. Not one of them could be trusted.
Alpha Zack’s eyebrows pulled together. "Getting too bold, aren’t you? Is this how you talk to me now?"
"I know that was the Wolfe family’s car," Alpha Zack continued. His tone softened slightly. "Are you dating one of the Wolfe Pack males? That would be a smart choice."
Only then did Hannah realize Alpha Zack had completely misunderstood the situation.

"If there’s nothing else, I’m going to bed. Maybe you should keep better track of your fiancée next time. She showed up at our reunion today acting like she owned the place."
Hannah didn’t care what he thought. She just wanted to mess with him.
Hearing this, Alpha Zack froze for two seconds. His mind screamed that it was impossible.

Alpha Zack forced a smile she couldn’t see. "You’re too kind. Professor, please don’t be so formal. Just call me Zack like before."
Professor Williams seemed surprised by her former student’s unexpected call. "I wouldn’t dare, Alpha Zack."
"Professor, did my fiancée cause you any trouble?" Alpha Zack asked carefully.
Professor Williams gave a light laugh. "Nothing serious. Young women always have their little dramas. She clearly loves you. She was very curious about your dating history."
Alpha Zack frowned slightly. "Did she say something wrong?"
"No," Professor Williams quickly explained. "She’s just a young woman who wants to know about your school days. That’s perfectly normal. You should treat her well."
Zack’s smile was weak. "I understand, Professor. Let’s talk again soon. I’ll visit you sometime."
After hanging up, Professor Williams felt something was wrong with Alpha Zack’s attitude.
She sensed that Alpha Zack didn’t care about his young fiancée as much as he should.
