Chapter 87: Chapter 87
Audie didn’t respond to his sister’s taunts, remaining in his hiding position behind Valentin. As long as he couldn’t see her, he was invisible.
"I apologize for my brother’s unruly behavior." Dodie bowed to the three of them.
Introductions were made and after being polite, Dodie stalked over to Valentin and booted Audie from behind him.
Audie immediately slipped behind Errol, using him as protection. "I don’t know what you’re talking about, I don’t have a sister." He refuted stubbornly.
"Fleur is with me." Dodie said blankly.
Audie immediately sidled up to her. "Should have started with that, big sis." He patted her arm cordially. "Where’s she? Where’s she?" He whipped his head from side to side.
Dodie had to bow to Henri, Louis and Dio again. "Thank you for being friends with my stupid brother."
Audie tugged on her arm impatiently. "You still haven’t told me where Fleur is."
Dodie’s response was to shove him away, smiling brightly at the others.
The rest were used to Audie’s antics, it was no surprise that his older sister had as much energy as he did.
"Will you be taking part in the competitions?" Errol inquired.
Nael had immediately gone over to his side after Dodie left, covertly glaring at her still.
"Yes, I believe the horse racing competitions will be the opener of the Inter school sports competition."
Henri was instantly riveted. "You’re in your college’s Horse-riding club?" He blurted out.
Dodie hasn’t been expecting him to address her, she was well aware that he was royalty. "I am." She admitted sheepishly.
"That’s right, Henri is also in the club." Errol chimed in.
Dodie looked at him with new eyes. "You don’t happen to know Seton, do you?" She said, her eyes drifting in Errol’s direction and back to Henri.
Louis expression turned frigid, Nael’s glare dialing up a couple numbers.
"I promised to beat him in a race at this years Inter school event." She punched her palm, a determined expression on her face.
At the last Inter school event, Dodie had actually challenged Seton to a race but he had just laughed in her face and walked off. She hoped to break his arm as well in addition to beating him. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"Ah... Henri already did that." Louis jabbed a finger at the Omega.
"Seton has also been dismissed from the academy, he’s now a ghost of the past." Errol added.
Dodie looked pleased by this but she didn’t talk about it further, instead hounding Henri. "Say, what do you think about a race?" She drawled, slinging an arm around his shoulders.
Henri’s eyes rounded at this, so the lack of personal space was a genetic problem. "A race?" He repeated, interest spilling out his grey eyes.
If Dodie had challenged Seton it meant that she had quite the skill. He might actually enjoy the event if the race turned out worthwhile.
Errol looked like he might like to stop them but changed his mind, he knew how much Henri liked to race, it would be a waste of time. Instead, he turned to Nael who held onto the edge of his sleeve. "Don’t you have to report to the swimming pool?"
They had both agreed to put in more effort in their separate clubs, and as Errol would be participating in the track competitions, Nael who had finally accepted to join the swimming team would also be participating.
Nael made a face, he would avoid going to the pool for as long as possible. Kais was always lying in wait to ambush him and the Deputy captain was like a leech, it was difficult to get him off after he was attached.
"Not yet." He replied vaguely.
Across from the Louis silently watched Dodie talk Henri into racing her. Well, granted, it didn’t exactly take too much to convince Henri.
"Will we be allowed to race before the competitions began?" Henri asked in slight concern.
Dodie leaned into him with a confident smile. "You don’t have to worry about that, we’ll just say we’re warming up. Leave the talking to me." She decided, dragging Henri off.
Louis looked from them to Errol. "Shouldn’t we try to stop them?" He cocked a brow.
Errol just sighed and went after them, Louis immediately following him. Nael and Dio followed those two wherever they went so it was no surprise that they both went as well.
Valentin tried to go with them, curious to see the outcome of their race when Audie jumped him.
"Come with me to find Fleur." He half begged, already dragging his roommate off.
Valentin didn’t even get an opportunity to protest. "You don’t even know where she is, I want to watch the race." He complained, refusing to be pulled.
In their scuffle they bumped into a duo of Omegas walking by, Audie finally letting Valentin go.
"Ah, sorry about that." Valentin quickly apologized, scratching his hair nervously.
The Omegas weren’t offended, far from it. "It’s alright." One of the Omegas with a bright face and pudgy cheeks smiled at him.
Audie immediately stepped forward, slicked his hair back, and put an affected air around him. "I hope we didn’t hurt you, it would be a shame if..."
The Omegas didn’t let him finish, sharing concerned looks between each other and turning their attention back to Valentin.
"We overheard you looking for someone, we could help." The second Omega offered, blinking a little too hard at Valentin.
Valentin innocently glanced down at their skirts and noted that it was dark blue, they could definitely help. "We’re searching for Fleur Aveline, have you perhaps bumped into her?"
Both girls perked up. "Fleur? Oh, we’ve seen her! I saw her last at the stalls, we can take you there if you want." The Omega with the cute cheeks offered already taking Valentin’s arm.
The other Omega knew exactly what to do and took his other arm, leading him away from Audie who was too stunned to move.
He had to pinch himself to make sure he wasn’t dreaming and touch a nearby tree to make sure he hadn’t gone invisible because why did both Omegas ignore him for Valentin? "Hey! Wait up!" He called after them, hurrying to catch up with them.
It was his own fault, after all, he should have kept his sights on Fleur instead of being distracted, there was still a chance to save the day.
