Chapter 86: Chapter 86
Breakfast was abuzz, the atmosphere festive although it was a Monday morning. For comparison, most morning meals on Mondays were filled with students scrambling to complete assignments and projects before classes began.
Immediately after breakfast, they all swarmed to the Field, the sports complex on the college grounds. It had already been prepared by the school, decorations and banners flying high.
Temporary food and game stalls had been set up on the Field seeing as they would spent the entirety of the day outside.
The students of Alpha Academy milled around shortly before the carriages bringing the students from Omega Institution started rolling in.
There would be a short open-air opening ceremony conducted by the Head Chancellors of both colleges.
A wooden stage had been set up on the vast space right beside the stalls, it would also be where the medals would be given out to the winners of the various sports.
There would track competitions for both colleges, swimming competitions, horse racing, fencing and a handful of others sports.
During the opening ceremony, Omegas and Alphas stood separately, instinctively giving each other some distance.
Omega Institution had similar uniforms to their all male college counterpart. Year One students used dark red colors, Year Two used dark blue, and Year Three dark green.
*i feel like i mixed up Year 2&3, please tell me if i did :)*
Omegas had more variety to their uniforms than Alphas did, they were free to wear dresses which came down to their knees, their skirts matching the colors of their classes. They wore black corsets and high socks, their sleeves edged in black lace.
They also had the choice to wear shirts and pants like Alphas but instead of waistcoats, they wore corsets.
After the opening ceremony was over, they were free to mill around before the first competition kicked off. Now was when they mixed together, acquaintances and friends finding each other before the sports competition began.
There were various seating areas present, each sport had their own mini stadium and in addition to that, there was an external seating area not affiliated to any sport so there was lots of spaces for seating.
There were also lots of trees around, positioned in spots that wouldn’t hinder easy movement. Students could request for picnic blankets to sit in the shade if they didn’t want to sit on the benches and chairs provided for them.
Henri might have acted like an anti the entire time but he had secretly been looking forward to the sports competition. He didn’t particularly know any Omega that went to the institute - *i just had an epiphany, why didn’t i call it Omega Institute? it sounds so much better?? i’ll do an edit later*
... but it was nice to get a break from schoolwork, and the monotony of doing the same thing day after day. Which was a little ironic considering that was what Henri did before coming to the academy, he led a monotonous lifestyle.
"Let’s find somewhere to sit." Louis suggested, leading the way.
Everyone seemed bright-eyed and excited, except for Audie who looked around cautiously like a wanted criminal. It was a stark opposite of his earlier attitude which was him bragging about his success with Omegas.
Henri simply couldn’t let it slide. "Is something the matter, Audie?" He asked curiously.
They were currently headed to the benches arranged under some of the shade providing trees, a mix of Alphas and Omegas in prestigious uniform milling around.
"Hm?" Audie hummed distracted, still looking furtively around.
"He’s probably on the lookout for his sister." Valentin slung an arm around Henri’s shoulder, grinning.
A secretive but no less painful pinch to Valentin’s side made the Alpha back away from him rather fast.
"I didn’t know Audie had a sister." Louis joined the conversation, sporting a pair of benches that would fit all of them.
"Me neither." Henri mused, trying to dig through his memories.
"I don’t have a sister." Audie denied with a straight face, plopping down on one of the benches.
Valentin joined him. "Sure you don’t."
"So does he or does he not have a sister?" Louis inquired a little impatiently.
"He does." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"I don’t." ƒгeewёbnovel.com
Valentin and Audie responded simultaneously, irking Louis even more.
Henri looked around and frowned. "Wasn’t Errol with us just a moment ago?" He pointed out.
"Nael too is gone." Louis added.
"I know, I wasn’t asking about him." Henri deadpanned.
"You’re always so mean to me." Nael popped out of the milling crowd, a hand clenched into a fist.
Henri just talked over him. "Where’s Errol?" He immediately asked.
He was always quick to let the three monsters know that he wouldn’t hesitate to sell them to save Errol, that he would rescue only Errol from a burning building or a wild sea... there were a lot of instances.
"He’s coming." Nael said with a forced smile, veins popping out of his head.
Errol showed up next, an apology on the tip of his tongue about leaving without letting anyone know, a tall Omega on his arm.
"Sorry for just disappearing, see who I bumped into!" He announced cheerfully.
Henri, Louis and Dio didn’t know who the Omega was so they were a bit confused, not too much though because there was a striking resemblance between her and Audie.
Nael still had that painfully fake smile on his face, more veins popping up on his head when the Omega placed her arm around Errol’s waist.
Valentin was the only one who seemed happy to see her, Audie hiding behind him.
"Dodie!" Valentin exclaimed with a genuine smile.
*does anyone know dodie? i love her songs ^w^*
"Ah you don’t all know who she is." Errol said sheepishly to the three who looked a little lost. "This is Dodie, Audie’s older sister."
Errol faltered when Henri and the other two still looked a little lost. "You don’t... Audie didn’t tell you he had an older sister?" He frowned.
Dodie was quite tall, she had a few centimetres on Errol but as Errol was the shortest amongst the Alphas, it meant that the others were still taller than she was.
She was dressed in a dark blue silk shirt with a black corset over it, her blonde hair plaited into a single braid down her back. Her dark eyes harbored mischief as she singled out her younger brother.
"Oh Audie!" She called in a sing-song manner, stepping forward. "Did you forget to tell your friends about me?"
