"N-Nothing." Cecil cleared his throat to say, straightening his shoulders. "I just don’t fancy being woken." He pulled out of his ass, noting that this was the first proper conversation he was having with Alois for the first time all week. Alois also looked to be in a far better mood than the night before.
Alois walked off to his side of the dorm room. "It’s almost time for breakfast, I thought I should be a thoughtful roommate and wake you up."
Cecil watched Alois’ back, the taller Alpha was already dressed while Cecil still wore his cotton night clothes. freewebnovel.cσ๓
The anticipation that had kept him awake for most of the night bled away, leaving an empty space behind. It would seem that Alois hadn’t been upset with him after all.
Maybe Cecil was starting to go a little mad because that would be the only explanation for why he was painfully aware of the distance between them.
Ever since the day that Cecil ran off with Perry and Leeson, it felt like an invisibly brick wall materialized between the two of them. At first, Cecil convinced himself that Alois had grown bored of being a nuisance to him but a few days later he was thoroughly miserable for that very reason.
How was he expected to be a proper villain if the righteous figure quit chasing him down?
Cecil walked off to his bathroom without responding. He had even gone out of his way to carry out a prank even with how hectic the school week had been and it would seem that the game was over before he could even claim a win.
As he stared at his reflection, the steam in the elaborate bathroom fogging up the mirror, his eyes zeroed in on the roots of his hair, his sharp eyes picking out any hint of darkness in the bleached blonde strands.
He was fine, he was a brilliant mastermind, and he had only been side-tracked for a little bit. His initial goal was to climb to the top position in Alpha Academy and to do that he had to put a blot on the Omega Prince’s name. Alois was simply an obstacle to the subgoal, and now that he had sufficiently gotten rid of him, he could get right back on track.
He just had to congregate with his sidekicks after breakfast so that they could begin scheming again. It would be just like old times.
He pushed down the tiny voice that decided to remind him that Alois had taken his first kiss and he hadn’t exactly hated it, his head in the clouds when he walked out of the bathroom shirtless, a towel wrapped around his hair to dry off.
Cecil expected Alois to be long gone like usual and not at all expected to run right into him, making him jump back in shock. His bewildered gaze dropped to the wet spot on the right shoulder of Alois’ dark red silk dress shirt.
"Do you need something?" He asked irritably, wishing he had put his shirt on in the bathroom but then again, he hadn’t been expecting to run into Alois.
Alois still had amusement dancing in his eyes, almost like he knew something that Cecil didn’t, it unsettled him.
"I do." Alois replied calmly, whipping out a folder from behind him. "I believe you dropped this."
Cecil frowned as he studied the embellished covering of the folder in Alois’ hand, leaning down to get a better look. He stiffened when he recognized it, liquid fire dripping down his spine.
"I don’t think I did," Cecil said with a calm that he wasn’t feeling. "Where did you find it?"
Alois got comfortable on Cecil’s bed which was the closest, tossing the thickly bound folder on the messy sheets. "In your locker. What did I tell you about covering your tracks?"
Cecil spluttered, indignant. How dare Alois say that after ignoring him for a full week? Well, it was just three days but it didn’t matter.
"You broke into my locker?" He accused, offended.
"I was merely returning the favor."
Cecil fell quiet, Alois wasn’t wrong, he was the instigator here. He had broken into Alois’ locker to swipe a lengthy thesis that he had to submit the day before. He just didn’t expect that Alois would go as far as to comb through his locker, for some reason, he felt upset about that.
"That’s not playing fair, how could you have even guessed it was me?" He stomped to his wardrobe to put on clothes, his skin starting to get itchy from how hard Alois was staring.
"I saw you take it." Alois admitted nonchalantly.
Cecil already had his sleeves in his dress shirt but was yet to button up and after hearing Alois’ words, he whipped around in shock. "What?"
The wheels in Cecil’s head spun wildly, he had taken the thesis early Thursday morning, that was enough time for Alois to confront him and get his assignment back in time for submission,
Cecil couldn’t comprehend the other Alpha’s thinking processes, too stunned to protest when Alois reached out to take his wrist and pull him closer.
Cecil glanced down at Alois. "Why didn’t you say something?" He demanded in disbelief.
Alois held both his wrists captive, a devilish smile on his handsome face. "That would ruin the whole point of it." free𝑤ebnovel.com
"But that meant you lost marks!" He insisted, worried despite himself.
Cecil had been expecting that he would be caught, it was why he had been so jittery. Guilt wasn’t a very helpful feeling to have toward your enemies.
Alois crossed Cecil’s wrists behind him so that he would be able to hold them with a single hand, pulling Cecil down on his legs.
"Are you worried about me now?" He asked lazily, tipping Cecil’s jaw up with a finger.
Cecil averted his face away, blood rushing to his face. "I’m not."
"I broke into your locker, took the thesis to make a copy, and returned it." Alois admitted without shame.
Cecil turned to him, open-mouthed in disbelief, he had been played. He had hopelessly lost another game to Alois again.
He clammed his lips shut when he noticed Alois’ gaze drop to them, looking down with a sudden realization of his current position. "What are you doing?"
Alois leaned in, making Cecil instinctively retreat, well as much as he could while seated on Alois. "Claiming my prize."
