Chapter 57: Chapter 57
Somehow, within the short span of a few days, whatever odd arrangement they had, evolved into a game that had Cecil constantly asking himself why he kept playing.
The rules of their arrangement had been changed and the lines blurred. "Hmph!" Cecil put his nose in the air. "I’m not going to run." He said disdainfully. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
A knock on the door cut Alois’ response off, providing a distraction for Cecil to break free from his hold and dash for the door. He was upset about losing but was unable to explain how Alois’ punishments made him feel.
He already knew who was behind the door before opening it, it was always those two...
Cecil’s eyes widened when he threw open the door to find a total stranger standing on the other side.
The tall Alpha glanced down at Cecil’s state of undress and cocked a brow. "I’m looking for Alois."
Alois had remained seated with a small smile when Cecil got up and ran right after saying he wouldn’t. The expression fell off his face when he heard a familiar voice and he was at the door in no time, pushing Cecil behind him.
"Slade. What do you need?" Alois asked in a measured voice.
The Alpha that had been referred to as Slade moved his questioning look to Alois. "I got the information you asked for.." He held out a folder, piercing silver eyes contrasting dark skin.
Alois took the offered package silently, his eyes devoid of emotion.
Slade shot him a salute, a white-fanged smirk breaking through his dark skin as he turned around to leave.
Alois narrowed his eyes, wondering what the annoying Alpha had gotten into his head now.
Cecil on the other hand was frozen in shock, he still stood behind Alois, wondering just what the other Alpha had to do with a scary looking senior. But that wasn’t even a part of his current problems, why hadn’t he walked past the senior instead of waiting for Alois to come over?
There was a simple answer but Cecil wasn’t going to admit that he had been intimidated by another Alpha, Alois didn’t count.
He jumped when Alois turned around and closed the door behind him. "What was that about not running?"

After breakfast, the others had similar ideas as Henri on paying visits to their various clubs seeing as it couldn’t be done during the week. Not to mention, the new week would bring in another slew of schoolwork so weekends were the best time for club activities.
They agreed to meet at the cafeteria at noon, Louis agreeing to let them all have a taste of his baking then.
Dio went along with him, silent as usual, and Louis made sure to hold his hand this time. He had no intention of losing the other Alpha again. For someone so tall and who stood out so easily, he sure found it easy to sneak off. frёewebnoѵēl.com
Henri walked to his club with a resigned expression, there was a crowd at the club building, and there was no doubt that Seton and his followers were at the club or at least would be there soon.
Although Seton had given Henri a wide berth at the racecourse earlier that morning, Henri couldn’t help but worry that the sly Alpha was plotting something.
Fortunately, other than the president, the members present were those who weren’t closely affiliated with Seton enough to be a cause of concern to Henri and Rex who hung on to his every word like a puppy.
Tarquin was making arrangements with those present to hold mock competitions amongst the members of the club in a few weeks. There would be several categories and it was all for fun and not to be taken seriously.
The animated faces of the students who were actively participating in discussing the preparations for the mock competitions quickly dulled when the door opened to reveal Seton, a group of four Alphas walking in behind him.
Henri had to do a double take when he saw the Alphas coming in behind Seton, recognition making him frown. Of course, it would add up that an antagonist such as Seton would have people like that following him around.
He had decided to do something about the Alphas who had attacked Dio twice over, what an ironic turn of events that he would find them here.
Approaching them himself would be a waste of time so he would have to go to Seton although the thought didn’t please him. He could also use his influence and have Alois handle this but he wanted to deal with the matter with the resources he had, not to mention that Alois must already have enough on his plate. He wasn’t a servant of the crown while they were at the academy.
Tarquin immediately tensed up at Seton’s appearance, expecting the very worst to happen but to his surprise, Seton and his group walked quietly all the way to the other end of the room. A fierce-looking Alpha that was a part of the group glared menacingly at Tarquin but that was all that happened.
Tarquin quickly wrapped up the discussion, choosing to postpone it to a further time.
Henri watched these proceedings quietly, it would seem that Seton had a falling out with a lot of the club members which was ironic considering that they had all joined the club because of him.
Tarquin was the only member of the club in his final year, the others were either second years or first years.
A new club member asked if they could go on a ride right then and Tarquin was all too happy to allow them, he would get to spend more time with his beloved horses and also be miles away from his arch-nemesis, it was a win-win situation.
"Henri?" Tarquin stopped to talk to him as the others chatted among themselves and prepared to leave for the stables.
"I’ll not be joining the other members." He said severely, glancing in Seton’s direction. "There’s something that I need to do."
Tarquin gave up on convincing Henri immediately, he knew quite well that the younger student wouldn’t change his mind. For an Omega, he sure had a lot of courage, Tarquin would respect that.
"I expected something along those lines." He sighed, shaking his head. "You can join us any time." He reassured, walking forward to rally the others.
"Alright now, hurry up! It would be best if we got started before the sun’s heat becomes unbearable."
Henri remained seated till the club room emptied out, it would seem that there were a few who weren’t interested in riding horses but they left nonetheless as there was nothing left to do.
Henri pushed to his feet and walked over to the table that Seton and his group had taken up, singling the dark-haired Alpha out.
Seton was caught off-guard, he had noticed that Henri had stayed behind even after the others left but he hadn’t expected the Omega to walk right up to him.
"Could I have a word with you?" Henri asked calmly, flicking bored eyes over the other four who looked visibly nervous at his presence. "In private." He tagged on.
Seton’s curiosity was piqued now, it was no secret that Henri wasn’t at all fond of him and Seton could understand why. So what was it that he wanted to speak to him about in private?
Seton wasn’t stupid to entertain the thought that Henri had a change of heart towards him. He got to his feet nonetheless, his eyes shuttered. "After you, your Highness."
Henri walked over to a pair of chairs placed at opposite ends of the table at the furthest end of the room; it was positioned right in front of a window.
He sat down and waited for Seton to do the same, lacing his fingers on the table. "I’d like to make a request of you." He said bluntly, getting right to the point.
Seton became guarded, leaning back on his seat. "Let’s hear it."
"Your lackeys..." Henri said the word with venom, glancing briefly in their direction.
Seton did the same, lava churning beneath his dark brown eyes. He sat up now, intently listening. He had noticed how oddly they acted when Henri walked over but he pushed it out of his mind to concentrate on the Prince, now he remembered it. Had they gone ahead to bother Henri?
They had rallied around him right after he lost the race, clamoring to go put the haughty prince in his place and Seton had been quick to cut down their violent plans, he had other plans for the prince.
"... seem to have set their sights on a good friend of mine, I want it to stop." He said, power behind his words.
Seton still listened intently, although he no longer had plans to cut open the fools that stuck to him. Now he listened intently because he had found an uncut gem in Henri’s words.
"I can have that arranged." He said easily.
Henri tensed, Seton was being a little too agreeable. He found himself waiting for the other shoe to drop.
"For a price."
