Chapter 53: Chapter 53
Henri was pleasantly surprised when all three of the monsters showed up to dinner, and even better, they had Errol with them.
Louis had been in an odd mood ever since he came to pick up Henri for dinner so it was nice to talk to someone else that didn’t zone out every other minute.
Henri thought about bringing up his encounter with Seton in his conversation with Errol but something about the vacant look in the slender Alpha’s eyes made him discard the thought. There was no reason to ruin a perfectly peaceful dinner.
Conversation flowed at the table, there was much to talk about considering that most of them had just completed their first proper day in college.
It was a nice change of pace from the kind of day he had. To make it even better, Audie and Valentin went off after dinner, neither of them making a move to hang off Henri’s arms and follow him to his dorm room.
They all separated right outside the dining hall which was a tad odd considering that they were all heading to the same dorm building.
Audie and Valentin wanted to go on a walk while Errol, and Nael just said their goodbyes and walked off without any reason, leaving Henri with Dio and Louis.
They too walked up to the third floor and separated mostly quietly, Henri continuing the journey himself to his room.
He was going to have something done about the placement of his dorm room by the second year. He could do it right now but a room had already been specially prepared for him, he wasn’t that obnoxious. It was just a few staircases, he could bear with it for a full year.
To his surprise, the rest of the week went by in a breeze, there was hardly any chance for anything other than schoolwork. Alpha Academy upheld its prestigious name.
After the first day of classes, the professors didn’t cut their students any slack. Henri had no issues with the classes or subjects themselves, he just wasn’t accustomed to being given classwork or assignments to be done outside of lecture time.
His tutor had merely shown him how to solve problems and informed him of things he didn’t know or couldn’t find in the books provided.
So he was thoroughly occupied, as well as the others, so much so that Audie and Valentin quietened down at meal times, their heads occasionally buried in books.
It wasn’t till Saturday, the weekend, did they all get some time to themselves.
Henri was woken up before dawn by an ominous knocking on his door, he feared he already knew who was on the other side.
Irritably, he dragged himself out of bed, prepared to kick the two monsters down two flights of stairs to their appropriate floor.
"What is it..." He started to ask crisply, only to trail off when he saw who was on the other side of his door. "Tarquin?" He said with wide eyes.
The senior looked down and fiddled with his fingers nervously. "I’m sorry to bother you but I noticed that you didn’t come to the club for the rest of the week and I wanted to ask you if you would be interested in a quick morning ride."
Henri’s eyes lit up at this, he hadn’t been able to return to the Horse-riding club ever since he bumped into Seton. It wasn’t that he was avoiding the Alpha, there was simply no time to.
"Of course!" Henri agreed immediately. "Just one moment while I get ready." He excused himself, hurrying back in. freёwebnoѵel.com
A ride was just the perfect break he needed to relax from his fast-paced week. He noticed that Tarquin hadn’t mentioned Henri coming to look for him, had he not been told about it? Henri wouldn’t be surprised if Seton had a hand in it.
Tarquin looked even more anxious when Henri opened the door again, his big, soulful eyes filled with agitation.
Henri was just about to ask if something was the matter when Tarquin spoke.
"I apologize, Henri, I had no idea that you would agree to the ride." He looked down again, refusing to take a step even though Henri was dressed and ready to go.
Henri’s brow furrowed, trying to process what the President of the Horse-riding club was going on about, then it clicked. "Did Seton put you to this?" He asked.
Tarquin still refused to look in Henri’s direction, for a tall Alpha, he had a very mousy nature and fidgeted a lot.
"I usually go to the stables at dawn on weekends because it’s when I get to let Moonlight run free but this time, I thought to invite you, it’s only unfortunate that I ran into Seton on my way here."
Henri knew that if he didn’t go with Tarquin, the senior would bear the consequences but that wasn’t the reason he intended to go. He wanted to ride a horse and he wasn’t going to let Seton ruin that.
He sighed. "It’s fine you can’t be blamed for something you couldn’t avoid." He reassured him, taking a step forward.
"You intend to still go?" Tarquin asked with something akin to disbelief. He still thought that Seton wanted to get his pound of flesh back from Henri for losing to him and thus was worried.
"Of course, I’ll be fine." Henri asserted confidently, starting down the hallway.
Tarquin had no other choice but to follow, worry lines etched on his pale face. ’Seton wouldn’t do anything to the crowned prince, right? He wasn’t that irrational?’
But the more Tarquin thought about it, the more worried he became. Seton was unpredictable, which was worse than anything else because it made it difficult to handle him. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Errol was already up at dawn, and it wasn’t because of a nightmare, he just couldn’t sleep anymore. He looked over to the other bed where Nael was still deeply asleep and his face softened a little.
Errol had made a petition to be changed into a different dorm room from his shared one with Seton, although Nael made it known that it was just fine if Errol remained here.
Errol couldn’t do it though, he already felt like a nuisance, not to mention, he was in year two, he just couldn’t keep staying in the wrong dorm building
