Chapter 48: Chapter 48

Without asking any questions Henri walked right up to the Alpha at the edge, grabbed him by the arms and pulled him into a perfectly aimed knee to the spine. His quickly done sneak attack made this easy to do. He might be an Omega but he was also the Prince and he had to undergo training to protect himself.

The Alpha he had attacked went down with a scream - he might want to check himself into the infirmary to get his back checked.

Attracted by the sound, the other three turned around and paled when they saw who had interrupted their fight.

Henri leaned down to wipe his hands on the downed Alpha. "A little unfair of you to all gang up on one person, don’t you think?"

Dio looked to Henri with concern, expecting the seniors to go after him, so he was caught off-guard when they blanched and quickly made themselves scarce.

Henri walked up to Dio and studied the cuts on his face with a tense expression, clicking his teeth, he muttered to himself. "I should have kicked a little lower."

A smashed tailbone would be the perfect souvenir for the bullies to take with them.

"Come with me." He said, still upset as he took Dio’s hand and pulled him off to his dorm room. freewēbnoveℓ.com

It hadn’t yet been a week since resumption and yet, it would seemed that Dio had been jumped twice, Henri felt a bit responsible, he wanted to do something about it.

"Sit." He said impatiently when they got inside his dorm room, pushing Dio down on the bed without waiting for the silent Alpha to make a move.

Henri rolled up his sleeves as he walked off to the bathroom to get the right equipment to clean Dio off with.

He had several questions but he wouldn’t be asking Dio any of them, first, he had to get him cleaned up and stem his bleeding, secondly, there was a high chance Dio wouldn’t even reply to his questions.

So he worked quietly, pleased to see that Dio was a star patient. He had to gather Dio’s hair up with a silk tie, his mismatched eyes watching his every move.

Henri had decided to not ask any questions, but where was Louis? Shouldn’t they be together?

"Where’s Louis?" He finally cracked and asked.

Dio looked down for the first time. "Don’t want to cause trouble for Lou." He mumbled more to himself.

Henri turned away with the bowl of bloodstained water in his hands. "I think you already did."

When he returned and walked up to Dio to check his work, Dio caught his wrist and pulled him close, startling him so much that he slightly stumbled.

"Dio, what are you..."

"Don’t tell Lou." He said in a low urgent voice, his eyes intense.

Henri blinked rapidly. "Uh... s-sure, let go of me, please."

He sighed in relief when he finally regained his freedom, putting some distance between them. Dio’s eyes were a little dangerous.

"Although I agreed not to tell, I’m pretty sure Louis will get suspicious when he sees the bandages on your fingers and face." He said logically.

Dio shot to his feet and then dropped to the ground like a log, startling Henri so much that he jumped and had to stifle his yelp.

"What are you... oh god, are you alright?" He asked in horror, watching Dio calmly get to his feet again.

Dio had a plaintive expression on. "I tripped." He mumbled somberly.

"Like hell you did!" Henri blurted out, stressed out. "Don’t do that again or I’ll tell Lou..."

He didn’t get all his words when Dio pulled him close again, only that this time, Henri did trip and fall against him.

"Don’t tell Lou." He said again, looking right down at Henri.

"Stop... don’t..." Henri blustered, clamping his lips shut to draw in a deep breath, quickly putting some distance in between them.

"Dio?" He tried again in the calmest voice he could muster.

"Hm?" Dio looked expectant, still keeping a vise-like grip around Henri’s wrist.

"I can hear you just fine, you don’t have to pull me close to talk to me." He enunciated, willing Dio to understand him. He doubted that any of such was happening though because Dio just stared at him without a thought behind his mismatched eyes. freewebnσvel.cøm

Henri sighed, wondering just how Louis managed to keep up with him. "Let me go." He requested again, wary of even mentioning Louis’ name.

"Are you hungry?" Henri asked going to the landline that had been handed to him by a cook. "Is there anything you’d like?"

"Scones." Dio answered much to Henri’s surprise, he hadn’t been expecting a response and had just asked to be polite.

"Alright." He agreed, making the call. Louis was going to have to make it up to him for babysitting his high maintenance roommate.

After making the call, Henri started to take off his waist coat only to slow to a stop. He didn’t want to sound like a nit-pick but Dio’s constant staring was rather unsettling. He had had his mismatched intense stare fixed on Henri ever since he fixed up his bruises, he could only take so much of it.

He cleared his throat anxiously, a light red dusting of color crawling up his face. "Dio, could you not stare?"

"Hm?" Dio hummed, that expectant look back in his eyes.

"Just... never mind." He gave up. Dio only listened to what he wanted to hear, Henri found it rather annoying.

He almost gave in and just left the waist coat on but it was uncomfortable to eat in it, so off it went. He settled in to wait for their snacks while buttoning up his sleeves and undoing his cravat, tossing the black material over a shoulder.

Usually it was peaceful to sit in silence with Dio but his recent habit of relentless staring made Henri flustered. So he spent the period of waiting for the messenger trying hard to avoid Dio’s gaze, and wondering just what the other Alpha found so fascinating on his face.
