Chapter 162: Chapter 162

Alois and the others had to go the long way around in a bid to get back to the campus gates, or more like they tried to and ended up having to hide several times when they nearly got caught.

He changed directions and headed for the campsite instead, if the attackers were all coming from that direction, it meant that the campsite would be cleared out, and he was right.

Louis immediately beelined to Henri’s tent when they made it to the clearing of the campsite although he knew that his friend couldn’t possibly be inside.

"We have to keep moving," Alois said, already at the other end of the campsite.

Louis stared in horror at the hole cut into Henri’s tent, had something happened to him?

Cecil was busy getting bottles of water because they would need it if they intended to practically run back to the gates. While Dio was crouched on the ground, observing a discarded arrow.

"Come on, you guys-" Alois started to say, exasperation in his voice, only to cut himself off as he jumped backward purely out of reflex. "Shit." He cursed when he saw the arrow embedded in the dirt in front of him. "We have to move! Right fucking now!" He swore, going over to grab his boyfriend’s arm before dashing for the woods.

Dio had to do the same, pulling Louis who seemed to have no intention of leaving Henri’s tent. Together they both hurried after the pair in front of them, the telltale sound of footsteps coming from behind them.

Dio didn’t get very far before Alois grabbed him by the arm and pulled him in his direction, Cecil was on the other side to take Louis, putting a finger to his lips to stop the mouthy and dense Alpha from asking questions.

The both of them were to hide and remain unseen while Alois and Dio intended to ambush their attackers. It was evident that they were going to alert the Academy about what was going on in the woods, their attackers clearly weren’t about to let this slide so they had to deal with them.

"Want some water?" Cecil asked with a smile, holding out a bottle to Louis while deafening screams and yells came from the area behind them.

Louis took the offered drink with shaky hands, wondering how the other Alpha could be so calm in a situation like this. It was a lot having to deal with something like this out of the blue but even more than that, he was terribly worried about Henri and would have liked nothing more than to go on a search for his friend.

But he knew that Alois was right and the best move for them to take right then would be to alert the authorities about what was going on. Not to mention, Louis couldn’t even bring himself to hurt anyone, he didn’t even know how to fight so he would just compound their already severe problems by going on a search for Henri.

Alois and Dio returned shortly after it all went quiet and they started for the gates. Louis could hardly remember the path they took when they were coming but Alois and Dio seemed to remember just fine because they didn’t slow down even once.

It was really nice that the Academy decided to have the campsites so far apart because it would have been a real tragedy if other students that had nothing to do with this got involved in the clash.

"Where are we even going?" Valentin complained when they seemed to have been walking forever.

Alexander didn’t slow down, continuing to walk forward. They were going through an area filled with lots of shrubs and low-hanging branches so he had to constantly push them apart to get through.

"At this rate, we’ll end up walking right into another campsite." He tagged on, practically fighting with the shrubbery, a stark contrast to Alexander who was gracefully doing it.

"That doesn’t sound like a bad outcome," Alexander said languidly, not even slowing down.

Valentin stopped abruptly, "I’m not abandoning the others."

"You’re not, you’re running for safety just like they are."

Valentin scowled at this imagery, "We’re hardly in any danger, I’m going back to help the others."

Alexander stopped now, turning around with a slightly ticked-off expression, "Even my presence isn’t going to save you if you go running back into danger." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

Valentin knew he wasn’t making a lot of sense but he felt bad that he got it easy. As long as he stayed with Alexander he wouldn’t be hurt, he knew that but he couldn’t help but think about the others who didn’t get it so easy.

Audie had already been in a fight before they came back from the lake, was he alright? It also didn’t help that he was paired up with Jacques, those two couldn’t work together to save their life, he had every right to be terribly worried.

So he said nothing to Alexander, looking up at him defiantly. "I never asked you to come with me." He bit out, turning around to head off. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Alexander sighed inaudibly, wondering why the Alpha had to be so impossible. He took brisk steps forward and caught Valentin by his waist, spinning him around in his shock and throwing him over his shoulder.

Valentin took long precious seconds to recover from the shock and by then Alexander had already continued their journey. "What are you- Put me down right now!" He protested, swinging his legs and pounding on Alexander’s back.

The Alpha Prince made an annoyed sound, "I’ll knock you out if you keep that up..."

"No, you won’t! Put me down, you thick-headed idiot!"

Alexander stopped and did as he demanded, putting him down on his feet on the soft dirt. This made Valentin stare blankly at him for a few beats like he hadn’t expected his roommate to do as he asked so easily, his confusion was replaced by betrayal when Alexander chopped him on the side of his neck.

Alexander caught the limp Alpha, he knew that he would get an earful when he regained consciousness but that was something he was willing to postpone. He slung the blissful silent Alpha over his shoulder again with ease, continuing forward.
