Chapter 149: Chapter 149
The rest of the meal was filled with Audie and Valentin bickering back and forth, Jacques and Nael occasionally getting dragged into the mix. While Errol held a peaceful conversation with the other three.
And throughout, Henri didn’t get accosted by Alexander or Claude, not even once, it was a very nice change of pace.
They all walked as a group back to their dorm building, it was already dark, artificial lights brightening up the walkway and surrounding buildings.
Henri’s dorm room was the only one on the first floor, and seeing as he seemed to be free of the shackles of Claude and Alexander, he made the call to head to his dorm room alone.
Louis looked hesitant at this but Henri just waved his worries away, "I’ve got some reading to catch up on tonight, I’ll just head to my dorm room and get to work." He said, already walking off.
The rest of them would be stopping at the second floor, only Valentin would be continuing on to the third and final floor.
"Let me walk you to your room," Audie offered when they got to the top of the grand staircase.
"You’re too loud, I should do it." Jacques butted in, making Audie slowly turn in his direction to glare at him.
Valentin wasn’t having it, "No, none of you are welcome." He cut off their bickering, marching up the stairs by himself.
Jacques’ detached expression flipped to a darkly teasing one when he glanced back at Audie, "Want me to walk you to yours?"
Audie had to curb the urge to kick his shins, not bothering to grace him with a response as he stomped down the hallway.

Henri leisurely made his way to his dorm room, finding himself noticing the stares and whispers for the first time in forever. After getting used to it in the early days of his first year, he barely noticed what happened in the background whenever he walked past.
Was it because he was all alone? Was that why the people around him seemed louder and taller? And was it just him or were some of them following him?
Just as he walked past a turn, someone snagged his wrist and pulled him. Henri gasped quietly when his back gently impacted the wall, he looked up to find the very last person he wanted to see.
"Alexander, what do you think you-" His tirade was cut off by the Alpha’s hand over his mouth, Alexander placing his other arm on the wall above Henri’s head, his body practically dwarfing Henri.
Henri blinked in shock, it was such an unexpected outcome that he was stunned silent for a handful of seconds. Long enough for an even worse person to show up.
He had to quell the urge to roll his eyes when Claude walked up, the other Alpha didn’t even give Alexander a chance to explain, tackling him to the ground.
Henri didn’t wait after that, as soon as he was free of Alexander, he walked off, trying not to break out into a run as he hurried to his room.
"Fucking bastard." Claude muttered darkly as he pinned Alexander down.
The Alpha Prince just chuckled, "Language."
"You said you wouldn’t hurt him."
"And I didn’t." Alexander said calmly, a stark contrast from Claude who looked like he was about to rip his neck out. "Want to check for yourself?" He taunted, lifting a brow.
"Don’t push your luck." Claude gritted out, getting to his feet.
He knew for a fact that he was the last person Henri would tell if he had actually been hurt, it made his heart twist painfully.
"Stay the fuck away from him." He tossed to him.
Alexander just gracefully rose to his feet and dusted off invisible flints, straightening out his shirtsleeves. "You don’t get to decide that." He said amicably, patting his shoulder.
He walked a few feet away and then stopped, "I’m being very tolerant, Claude, you don’t want to cross me." He added, the pitch of his voice dropping.
Claude was unfazed by this, an almost happy grin on his face, fangs flashing. "You took the words right out of my mouth, Your Highness."
Alexander just walked off, leaving Claude behind.
Claude immediately forgot about their interaction, trailing after Henri from a safe distance to make sure that he got to his room safely.
He didn’t trust the Alpha Prince, it was exactly why he went out of his way to keep tabs on him. It would seem that he was right to do that.

Henri didn’t remember how he got to his dorm room, immediately seeking the comfort of his bed after making sure his door was locked. First year wasn’t this hectic, why was the second time so much more difficult?
He gingerly settled on the edge of his bed trying to catch his breath, far more shaken up than he would like. He thought Claude would be his biggest problem but things were turning out differently.
Claude hardly said much to him, only speaking when Alexander did and he certainly didn’t jump him in hallways.
Alexander was a much different person when he didn’t speak, or perhaps Henri was just imagining things. Because the Alpha Prince that had pushed him up against the wall was very different from the one who trailed after him everywhere.
And just where had Claude popped out from? Just when he was starting to believe that he had gotten rid of them too.
At breakfast time the next morning, they were both at the door to his dorm room. Henri expected this but not Louis who looked traumatised to see them again.
Alexander had his usual placid expression on his handsome face, blonde hair slicked back. While Claude had dark shadows on his face.
Henri wondered what he could be so upset about so early in the morning, he wasn’t the one having the rest of his day ruined. freёwebnoѵel.com
Classes went pretty much the same way as breakfast did, Henri finding himself paying more attention to the Alphas wouldn’t leave him alone.
He didn’t once catch the demeanor he saw on Alexander’s face the night before but he did note that Claude’s mood improved before the end of classes.
