Chapter 150: Chapter 150

Henri hadn’t ridden a horse ever since he got to the academy and he had already had enough of it. He knew for a fact that no one else would be able to ride Moonlight but him, and he couldn’t help but worry if the horse was let out at all.

When Tarquin was still here, he made it a habit to let the horse run freely in the fields, he wondered if Pierre knew that. He would make the effort to ask and also take the horse on a ride in the fields which was an open grassy area past the sports complex.

So after lunch, he started for the stables, Louis and Dio had already gone off to their various clubs. He had also met the others at lunch and he found out that Jacques would be joining the Volleyball club with Valentin and Audie.

Once again, he had lost Claude and Alexander but not for long because he found them at the Field, already talking to Pierre. Well, more like the president was scolding them and they were both making an effort to listen.

"Henri!" Pierre brightened when he caught sight of him, "I didn’t think you would make it today."

Henri looked past him to the crowd gathered at the racecourse, "Is something happening today?"

"I decided to hold a racing event today, only those interested in participating in racing competitions will be joining..." He explained kindly, "Not those two though," He jabbed a finger in Alexander and Claude’s direction, his expression darkening.

Henri almost felt bad about dropping the Alphas on Pierre’s hands, it was easy to forget that average people might find it even more difficult to deal with the two. Especially as they were both in positions of power.

"I wanted to ask about Moonlight-" He changed the line of conversation, feeling sheepish.

"You want to ride him?" Pierre immediately perked up, "I’ll have him prepared right away..." He said enthusiastically, signaling someone out of view. free𝑤ebnovel.com

"Well, yes but also I wanted to-"

"You want to ask if I let him out to run in the fields? I do, Tarquin gave me a detailed schedule, he was really indispensable."

Henri sighed in relief, not even upset that Pierre kept interrupting him. He could see why Tarquin had chosen Pierre to be the President although he had been a quite unassuming member of the club.

Moonlight was brought out soon enough, the large horse snorting happily. Henri patted his head and just as he did that Claude and Alexander walked up.

"Pierre chased us off, do you mind if we ride with you?" Alexander was the one to ask.

A horse was immediately provided for Alexander by what looked to be new members of the club, they were Year One students so they were unfamiliar to Henri. While Claude was dragged off by another group who wanted him to show them how to make their horses jump high.

Henri watched them drag off Claude with a curious expression, feeling like there was something amiss. He glanced back at Alexander and caught just a flash of the person he had seen last night right before his placid expression returned.

"Shall we?" He gestured with a hand, waiting for Henri to get on his horse before doing the same.

A muted cheer went up when Henri got on his horse making him duck his head at the unexpected action. He knew he had a lot of fans in the clubs, most of them from when he defeated Seton. He spurred Moonlight on into a light trot, heading away from the racecourse.

Alexander easily kept up with him, the Alpha was surprisingly quiet. Usually by now, he would have asked a couple of questions.

Henri didn’t mind this, a peaceful horse ride was his preference. Soon they left the sports complex behind, and he increased the pace of his horse, letting Moonlight lead the ride.

Alexander kept up easily with him until he didn’t... His horse went down out of nowhere, the skilled Alpha jumping off the horse in time.

This made Henri come around in concern, "What happened?"

Alexander looked the horse over, it looked unharmed but was unconscious. "I’m not sure," He said slowly, making sure that the horse was alright before straightening up. "It just collapsed."

Henri’s look of concern deepened at this, "We need to report this in." He quickly decided, "Come on, get on." He invited him, patting Moonlight.

Alexander skillfully hid his surprise, walking over to Henri. Fortunately, the horse was big enough to make riding with a partner comfortable enough.

Henri wasn’t thinking about that, he was too busy thinking about how a cart would have to be brought here to successfully take the fallen horse away to be looked over properly. He had no time to feel awkward about having company on his horse... yet.

Alexander got on with ease, immediately wrapping his arms around Henri’s waist and waiting for him to start the journey back to the sports complex.

Henri jumped at this, feeling his face heat up as his hands tightened around the reigns.

"Is something the matter, Your Highness?" Alexander had the nerve to ask, leaning closer like he wanted to take a look at Henri’s face.

Henri gritted his teeth, "Not at all, try to keep your balance." He said shortly, spurring Moonlight into a gallop.

This only backfired because it meant that Alexander’s hold tightened around him. Fortunately, it also meant that they got back to the Field in a short amount of time.

Pierre immediately hurried over, Claude on his tail - it looked like the Alpha had finally broken free of the swarm that had come for him, and he didn’t look very pleased.

"Henri! What happened?" Pierre asked in a rush. freёweɓnovel.com

*i always picture Pierre always clutching a clipboard, it’s a little silly and i don’t know why i do that*

Henri tried to catch his breath, he hadn’t been running yet it felt like he was. His face was hot and his limbs felt a little weak, he also noticed that Alexander still hadn’t let him go.

"My horse collapsed, if you could be nice enough to get the stablehands to retrieve it," Alexander spoke up instead, looking very comfortable. He tossed a smug look in Claude’s direction, pretending not to notice that the other Alpha’s hands were clenched into fists.
